richard T: Aggressive looks! Removable Peak & Drop Down Visor priced right!Mar 11, 2014
Shane W: I like the design of this helmet. I also have friends with similar style helmets. On long ATV trips and when getting caught in the rain it is nice to not have a wet face from a traditional ATV helmet . The reviews helped by not have many complaints of it fogging up like other brands of with the dual design. Further more, no complaints of the vision being askew from the bend in the shield. I will post more later once I have this helmet and have a chance to give it a good review.Mar 10, 2014
Steven R: I chose this unit for its price point within the category of helmets designed for this type of riding. It reviews fairly well condsidering that it is not high end and allows me to get something more suited to my needs without necessarily having to dive into the deep end right off the bat.Mar 3, 2014
Rick V: I sent in my Arai XD3 last month to have the chin strap fixed to Arai USA. After them having the Helmet for a month I called them. They told me that they would not fix my frayed chin strap due to the liner being too compressed. I have never had a major crash with the Helmet, and they never called me to let me know that they would not fix it. So poor customer service and they would not fix a warranty problem. So why spend another 700 bucks on XD4. I am hoping for better value with the AFX FX-41Mar 3, 2014
james c: For my wife riding a dual sport.Mar 1, 2014
Cody R: Style, price, and the drop down smoked visor so I don't have to change lenses.Feb 26, 2014
Brent C: The look, the price, the visor. The reviews didn't sell it, that's for sure. Taking a gamble here!Feb 18, 2014
Francisco S: looks good, n a cheaper alternativeFeb 17, 2014
H U: Was looking for a dual sport style helmet and I love the large visor. The profile looks awesome and should flow a ton of air for those hot summer days.Feb 16, 2014
ryan r: bang 4 buck, styling, dual sport/advFeb 14, 2014
Shannon G: I bought this because I have been looking for a dual sport helmet and the drop down sun visor along with the low price caused me to decide on this helmet. The sun visor is more important than the price. I would have paid more for a better helmet that had a drop down sun visor if I had the choice.Feb 11, 2014
Reden B: I choose this because it looks very good RevZilla review, aggressive design and very good deal/price.Feb 5, 2014
Sean C: I like this style of Helmet.. especially the inner sunvisorJan 29, 2014
Hans K: My FX-37 from 2009 just needed to be replaced.Jan 27, 2014
Christian R: Although the FX-41 is a brand new model, reviews of the FX-39 helmet indicated AFX DS helmets to have a good quality. I like the unique look of the helmet and the fact that it has a retractable sun visor. Let's see what it feels like when I receive it.Jan 20, 2014
andrew f: I needed a new lid and ride both dirt and street so just simplified itJan 19, 2014
John H: Aggresive styling for both adventure touring and off road riding. Liked the Revzilla video!Jan 14, 2014
John H: Wanted a different Dual/Sport helmet than the one I have and this one has some really nice features that I like. Been waiting for months for you to get it in.Jan 11, 2014
rholyn g: u guys are awesome on explaining the item using your videos also nice to have a pre order before a new item comes out hope to be a first to do a review for u guys see yeah back soon... need tires once wife oks it lolJan 11, 2014
Anthony G: I like the bold lines and large viewing area of the helmet. The drop down tinted shield that is built in is icing on the cake. The resin that I bought from RevZilla was their website, online videos, price and return policy. A local shop could order the helmet for me in two days but they wanted a restocking fee if it didn't fit.
This is my first purchase with RevZilla and I liked their website right from the start.Jan 9, 2014
Joe W: I was looking for a good dual sport helmet at a reasonable cost and after checking into AFX and watching the Revzilla video on the product this looked like the best bang for the buck and it looks really cool!Nov 4, 2013
Richard F: I need a dual sport helmet and this seemed to be the "swiss army knife" of helmets based on the description. I also liked the large amount of vents since I live in Texas. Now to wait for it to arrive and road test it.Oct 9, 2013
Juan Pedro L:I have the same question, I have the AGV AX-8 DUAL EVO and want to buy this one to mi girlfriend and use the SENA SMH05 in both helmets. Does anybody knows how it fits with some Bluetooth gadget?Jan 11, 2014
A shopper asked:Will the drop down sunshield only be available in light smoke? I was really excited about this helmet until that part of the review. The AFX light smoke does nothing to block normal bright light. I own 3 AFX helmets, and only the dark smoke shield has any effect. I was hoping to use this as a street helmet, but the drop down looks like the light smoke shield. Thanks, Greg.Sep 5, 2013
Amber H:Yes the Sena SMH10 fits. I installed mine on the left vent intake and the battery just to the left side of the DOT sticker on the back. The batter is not centered but it fits the contour of the helmet at that location. It doesn't look bad at all. I'm picky when it comes to things like that, it has to look like it was meant to go there and it does. You will not be disappointed.Jan 31, 2014
Felicia A:Facebook post from Dec. 12, 2013 -*NEWS ALERT* We are happy to announce that the first shipments of FX-41DS helmets are on the way from our factory to our distributors worldwide. We appreciate your patience and understanding , we expect the helmets to arrive at our distributors and be available for purchase the first part of January. -Dec 13, 2013
Edward N:"We just received notice from the manufacturer that the expected date of arrival for this item has been pushed back to Late December. It seems that no amount of yelling, screaming, kicking or fist shaking will move the date up any sooner. Believe us, we tried." LAME.Oct 11, 2013
AFX Helmets Facebook says, "Again no ETA, not even above mentioned December date. AFX or Parts Unlimited are the only source that can confirm a date. Thank you for all you excitement you hope to have a ETA soon." So, not even Late December. Even LAMER.

A shopper asked:I was wondering. If I were to take off the peak (I LOVE the streetfighter look of the AX-8 EVO Naked) will the screws fill the holes without sticking up to far? Also, could you guys maybe take a flat black one and take the peak off and post a picture? I would love to see how it looks without it.Oct 2, 2013
Brandon M:On page 24 of the AFX helmet catalog there is a picture of one. Revzilla won't let me post a link to it, but it is under customer resources and catalog archives on the afx helmets websitNov 21, 2013
A shopper asked:Does anyone know when this AFX FX-41 DS helmet will be available? Also, the helmet I have now (Fly Trekker) does not do well with eye glasses. I'd love to know if the padding in this new AFX is made to work well with someone with glasses. Thanks!Aug 26, 2013
Greg S:I have the FX-39 and wear glasses. They fit with no issues and do not press into my head. There is a bit of wiggling to get them on and in place but once there, it is very comfortable.Sep 1, 2013
David W:I have yet to ride with it in the rain but certainly don't foresee any greater issue with vents than on any other helmet (ADV or other style). When you actually have the helmet in you hands and examine all the vents you'll see most are 'browed' or somewhat shielded when you look directly down onto the top of the helmet. Whether water will tend to accumulate in the vent openings, or flow into them with surface air flow effects is pure speculation. If it's raining that hard it's usually cool enough you would close the three main inlet vents and rear exhaust vents on the upper-part of the shell anyway.Feb 28, 2014
CHRISTOPHER F:I can't really answer that, because I bought this as a hot weather helmet because of all the vents. I have another helmet (Scorpion Transformer exo900) for cold or rain. But yeah, there are a lot of vents and it would probably be a pretty wet helmet. A great way around that, though, is to wear a hooded rain jacket with a nice thin hood that fits under your helmet. That'll stop a lot of the rain.Feb 28, 2014
Tony N:Good question! I've yet ridden in the rain with my new AFX FX-41 helmet this season...However, I've used the helmet in sub 32F temp weather with all the vents closed and I have not felt any air leaks or cold drafts. So, I assume it should also be water tide. At least I hope so, it should be.Feb 28, 2014
Jordan M:It was not designed to wear with goggles, so it might not be the most comfortable helmet to use with goggles. No, you would not be able to close the shield wile wearing goggles underneath.Jan 14, 2014
Christopher O asked:The FX39 was in dire need of a chin curtain and since it didn't ship with one, you had to buy it separately. Is it the same deal for the FX41? I don't see a separate curtain for sale so will the 39 curtain fit?Mar 27, 2014
Tony N:First off, I like the FX40 a lot. It's really a good helmet. You get a lot for your money!
The FX40 doesn't come fitted with a chin curtain. I don 't need it because I only use it during warm weather riding. Perhaps, the FX39 chin curtain may work. However, I don't know for sure.Apr 2, 2014
Jerry M:I checked several other resources and came up short. Try doing some research and get back to ZLA with a part number if possible. Below is not a link (revzilla thinks its my email and doesnt allow that) but it will get you AFX customer service. They wont sell you parts but can certainly point you in the right direction.
Joel H:I haven't gotten my helmet yet, but AFX has a facebook page that has answers to pre release queations, they only sell through distributors like Revzilla. I believe the answer to your question is that it is not in the plan. Hopefully these helemets will be released in mid January.. Jan 1, 2014
