Neoprene face piece keeps the wind from freezing your face. The "neodanna" also keeps bugs and dirt from battering your neck and face. It also tucks in nicely into your jacket and stays secure. I wear mine under or over my helmet straps.
It's not really a warming layer, however it does a superb job at keeping your face and neck protected - and looks cool too.
Like anything else neoprene it stinks when you get it, I washed mine and let it air dry, wore it a few times on the road and the smell went away after a few short rides.

Great for open face helmet
Not much to say. Good for riding with open face helmet in mild or rainy weather.

Great mask for chilly mornings
I wear this mask with an open face helmet. It works great at keeping the cold wind off my face and neck. The neck tucks in nicely under my jacket and the paisley design looks awesome. It has kept me warm into the lower 40s and will probably be comfortable even in the 30s.

A must have for any open face helmet user
I use an open face helmet and this thing did just the trick for me in a variety of ways. It's breathable but yet keeps dirt/dust and dust off my face. I've been wearing it in about 40 degree (f) temperatures and it's helped with some wind resistance as well. Neoprene is awesome for that. The pattern was a super groovy paisley!
The neoprene goes far south 'nuff to cover your chin too, which is good - it's slightly softer than cotton and feels better this way. The 'dana is long enough to get tucked in under your jacket and cut well so that the chin strap on your helmet goes no problem.
Some people have commented that it doesn't give enough velcro - I think it does. Some people are probably adjusting it so that the velcro is on the nape of their neck. I actually adjust mine more towards the back of my skull - stays tighter there and seems to make more sense to me.
