Woodcraft Shark / Toe Guard

The Woodcraft Toe Guard is an inexpensive insurance against a potential serious injury. In the case of a crash that places your limbs near the rear sprocket, the toe guard will help deflect your limbs out of harm's way. Other toe guards ask you to drill and tap into your stock swingarm. The average swingarm today is 4-6mm thick aluminum, which can leave you with mounting bolts that can easily strip out. To cure design flaw, Woodcraft supplies two rivet nut inserts and an installation tool with every kit!

Required by AMA and WSB among other top racing organizations.

Required by AMA (and others)! Great addition!
So in addition to being a conversation starter, "What IS that thing, anyway?" - this shark guard looks awesome and is required by many of the racing organizations you may or may not be thinking of entering into. The installation is simple and the jack nuts that come with the assembly are a MUCH better idea than trying to tap into your swingarm, IMO. I have a '12 ZX6R and the only "issue" with fitment was due to the weld seam under the swingarm - it still fits fine and the functionality wasn't affected at all, but it doesn't fit as "aesthetic" as I'd have liked. All things considered, I'm 100% satisfied and I'll buy more of them for future motorcycles.

Woodcraft is quality!
If you want to give yourself protection in every possible way, this is a smart investment. Not very easy to install, but if u take your time you will be rewarded with a quality protection device that in the right situation will provide protection from serious injury. When installed, it is very sturdy. It is light and very well made like all woodcraft items. Well designed. The provided wrench is required for the revit like threaded fastener system.

easy mod for a track bike.
I Have a Honda CBR 600 RR Supersport and I am an amateur track enthusiast. I been doing small mods to the bike to get it more track ready and this WOODCRAFT TOE/GUARD adds protection and a professional look. I recommend it and is easy to install on your bike .Bang for your buck.

Get it if you love your toes
Cheap accessory to protect yourself from nasty injuries. A no brainer decision/investment in my opinion, and it also looks good installed on the bike.

Required to Race - Cheapest Safety Item Around
Quality product and pretty straight forward install. The truck bolt tool didn't really hold the truck bolts in place prior to installation of final bolts; solved another way. Overall, a small price for important and required racing safety item.

Good product but didn't install right on my bike...
I watched several videos online. I like the one from STG on you tube. I followed it step by step but on the 07 GSXR 600 the is an aluminum wall within the swing arm i couldn't have predicted would be there. After drilling the hole i then released i might be screwed... I went on with the install but the jack nut the you put into the swing arm then screw it down so it will spread messed up because of the wall. I had to pay 5 dollars to Woodcraft to send me another one. It is on the way so hopefully it will work if I attempt ti again. If not I guess Im stuck with 2 holes drill in my swing arm...

Setting up my Kawasaki Ninja 300 for track days so I am putting this on to prevent injury to my foot should I fall off and get my foot caught between the chain and sprocket. This part should prevent that from happening.

Are there holes in it for mounting, if so how far apart are they?
A C on Jul 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If I remember correctly holes are 1 1/4 - 1 3/8 apart also on my bike I had to drill and tap one more additional hole at the bottom of a swing arm. Fitted perfectly . Whole install took me 15 minutes . Been like 2 years since I did it so this would be roughly how much I remember. Ps. Quality of a part was really good. Survived one lowside in the rain at the track , well worth getting it . Cheers hope it helps
Will fitment of this product still allow the use of rear paddock stand bobbins?
A S on Apr 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, there is plenty of spacing based on how the fin installs under the frame and about an half inch from the outside edge of the frame. Check YouTube for some full install videos, they were very helpful and this was a very simple install.
Will this fit swing arms that are tubular/round?
David B on Sep 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The top of the fin is flat, so it may have the tendency to rock sideways if it's not mounted tight enough. It might be possible to work up some dished washers.
