I am no expert when it comes to motorcycle gear. In fact, I am a new rider. I own a 2005 Honda Shadow Aero VT750 C5, I've had it stored at work waiting to get my permit. Just the other day I had the chance to try out my Tourmaster 2 jacket for the first time.
It was a typical cool spring day here in the great State of Maine--50 degrees Fahrenheit. It was overcast so there was no sun for residual warmth. It was "dress down" Friday at work so I wore a Red Sox tee-shirt and jeans. I decided to brave the cold and traffic and get the bike home. It's about 5 miles of city driving and 8 miles of country (45-50 MPH). I had taken the liner out of the jacket, too. My legs were cold as heck on the ride home, but my torso was toasty warm. I was thoroughly impressed.
I went by the sizing guide. I'm 5'-9", 44" chest, 170 lbs. The guide had me pegged for a medium, although I normally like a large size in everything else. I decided to chance it and order the medium. It's a little snug with the liner, but without it fits perfectly. My arms are a bit long so I was concerned about sleeve length. Guess what, the sleeves were right on the money.
It's the best $135.00 I've ever spent. I love the armor in the shoulders, elbows, and back. I feel safe, comfortable and secure in the Tourmaster 2. Now my wife is bugging me to get her one so we can ride together in a couple of months.
I highly recommend this product. Love Tourmaster--love Revzilla!

I needed a summer jacket with ventilation and was pleased to discover this one on sale. I figured for >$150 I'd maybe get a decent jacket with a reasonable amount of protection. What caught my eye with this particular jacket was that it included CE shoulder and elbow protection PLUS padding for the back.
When I received the jacket, I was surprised how good the quality was, especially considering the price. The stitching is flawless and very sturdy. The jacket has a good 'solid' feel to it - especially compared to my Bilt jacket I got from Cyclegear which looks and feels cheap. The ventilation is quite good once I get moving and has passed the test riding through upper 90s inland and then transitioning to mid 50s along the coast. It handled both equally well without having to change anything.
The only complaint I have is the velcro. It runs along the whole front of the jacket and it's a bit of a pain to tear open the velcro just to unzip the jacket. Also, I discovered that the velcro at the collar adhered to my helmet's padding when the collar was left open.
Other than that, this jacket was a fantastic deal. It's my main summer jacket now. Love it.

The jacket came faster then I thought. I have an older one with a heated liner that's getting well worn. I ride as long as there's no ice on the road.This jacket has been worn down to 25 degrees and is warm, with the standard liner. I've not had the chance to wear it in warmer weather to try the vents as much as I would like.

I'm very impressed by the overall versatility of this jacket, I've been wearing it every day on my 12 mile, CO, work commute and it is very comfortable. It keeps me warm in the low 30s mornings -without- the zip out liner (with all of the vents closed of course), and is nice and cool for my ride home every night (low 80s) with them open... Keep in mind through you wont be wanting to stand around or get stuck in traffic for long periods of time with this jacket on as it will get hot fast if your not riding.
I gave it a 4/5 for protection and durability because a button broke the first time I put it on, it was no big deal though as the first time I reached my hand into the front left pocket I found that they had sent plenty of spares/replacements.
With the overall quality of the rest of the jacket I'd still recommend this to anyone looking for a great riding jacket.
*I cant really comment on hot weather yet, but I cant imagine it being too bad with how well this jacket breaths.

Has handled 40 degrees and rain as described. Will have to wait till summer to see how it does with heat. Would recommend one size larger.

I really liked the versatility of the Transition jacket. It’s warm when closed up, tons of airflow (almost too much) when it gets warm out. There are lots of useable pockets. Unfortunately, I only wore it about for a couple weeks, maybe 10 times, before the bottom of the pocket tore open. Tourmaster won’t simply exchange it because it is “used” despite the fact that the jacket is clearly defective. The Hein Gericke jacket I wore for 10 years doesn’t have holes in the pockets and I put the same things in them. Buy something else, preferably from a company that stands behind its products.
No, I do not recommend this product.
