Good protection - tight fit.
Knee guard stays in place and provides good protection. I do not notice them once I am riding. They are a bit warm and are soaked with sweat after an hour of riding - but don't really notice it while riding.

After three surgeries on my right knee and one on the left, these guards work great to help stabilize my knees.
They took a bit to get use to, but now they fit snug and comfy.
Airflow is okay, it does not get very sweaty under the guards in hot weather.
It is pretty obvious you got them on under any pants, but they are surprisingly comfortable to sit around in and they definitely feel like good protection.

So far so good.
A half dozen or so rides in, and I'm quite pleased with them. Good impact protection, some resistance to travel in the wrong direction. I haven't ridden in any proper summer heat with them yet, but they're always good and sweaty when I take them off, but my knees and shins aren't feeling uncomfortable hot. I've crashed in them a few times, and they have done exactly what they are supposed to do, and more than I expected.
My only complaint is that somehow, the Velcro on the back strap always seems to find a way to start stabbing me in the leg. It gets uncomfortable, but not unbearable.

Too bulky, way too hot
Just ordered these hoping for something I could wear under loose fit jeans. They look like they would really hold up and would provide a lot of protection, but they are just too bulky for me. They fit under my jeans, but when I sat down the knee area of the jeans were really tight. You could ride with the combo, but it would wear through the sides of your jeans really quickly.
If it were just the bulkiness it wouldn't be an issue, most people probably have some loose riding pants they like (my jeans are very relaxed fit though). The main problem is, these guards are very hot. The wrap around fabric is like a thick neoprene knee sleeve. My leg was sweating within just a few minutes, and I was just walking around inside my house. I can't imagine wearing these in the summer or even a warm spring or fall day.
Since the plastics are pretty much solid, I don't see how being on the bike would help airflow-wise. Maybe if you're cruising along at highway speeds some air would get through, but offroad no way.
I wish I had a local place where I could have tried them on. It cost $16 to ship these back the Revzilla.

Good bang for buck...functional as well
You get a lot for the money with this Knee Brace, but wear with long socks as it chafs the back of the leg without them.

9 years now... something like that. Still awesome.
I've had these for about 9 years now. Bought them to use offroad on my DRZ400. Well, used them for that for a while, crashed them a bunch of times and don't even want to know what a couple of those dumps would have done to my knees if I wasn't wearing them. These things are absolutely worth it. Now I use them anytime. They're actually comfortable on long rides on my Buell Ulysses. Like others have said, a real sportbike bend in your knee, they're not great. They can get a little warm in the summer down in the Carolina or if you're really working it off-road, but I love these things. Just make sure you're wearing loose pants or jeans or you're not getting them under. I've got the early ones so the velco can get a little scratchy on the back of my shin, (easy fix... taller socks), but awesome.
On the sizing. I put true to size, but you really have to try these things on. If my calves were any bigger, I'd definitely want to go up to a the next size and I'm already wearing the XL at 6'2" and 185lbs. Or, maybe the make the velcro wider... you really just need to try them on.
Not too much else to say. I love these things.
