The shield on the HJC CL-33 is scratch resistant, however it is not scratch proof. The shield will stand up to, or resistant, minor irritants, such as dirt, or light impact from some larger, dull debris. However, impact with larger or sharp objects will still have an effect on the shield. Extra care should be taken when cleaning, as using course materials (such as paper towels) will wear through the scratch resistant film, causing the shield to scratch. Cleaning should only ever be done with a soft, clean cloth and warm soapy water. The best results will be had when the shield is cleaned, before debris has accumulated. If there is a thick accumulation of debris it is best to take the process of cleaning slowly, allowing the dirt to soften so it wipes away easily, rather than attempting to scrub off any tough build-up. Taking these steps will ensure a longer life for your shield.
