Non-Bootie Designs: Sidi boots do not incorporate inner booties into their design, and for good reason. Booties make the design larger and cumbersome; add to the boot’s thickness, which interferes with shifting, plus the inner booties retain body heat affecting the rider’s performance and comfort.

Gore-Tex: Striving for peak performance? Whether it’s a day on a wet track, a long distance tour through all types of conditions, or simply pursuing your everyday adventures, Sidi GORE-TEX® lined boots will help you get there. Designed to provide comfort and protection, Sidi GORE-TEX® boots keep your feet dry, even when you encounter snow, or rain. Each Sidi GORE-TEX® boot is totally waterproof to keep moisture from penetrating inside, yet incredibly breathable to allow sweat to escape. This high breathability is critical to your comfort because, simply put, sweaty feet are uncomfortable feet. Inside waterproof boots that are not breathable, moisture builds up and has nowhere to go. It then remains trapped against your skin, leaving your feet clammy, uncomfortable, and more prone to develop blisters.

This can be even more of a problem in high aerobic activities because the more active you are, the more your feet sweat — we’re talking up to one full cup of water a day! Sidi’s GORE-TEX® lined boots is specifically designed to provide comfort and protection on a hard ride or for longer rides when the weather is warmer. The patented GORE-TEX® membrane is where it all starts. Nestled between the boot’s outer top grain leather and the inner liner, this membrane keeps water out while letting your perspiration vapor escape. As part of Sidi’s waterproof guarantee, EVERY boot produced is tested for waterproofness and breathability. And, to make sure the whole boot breathes the way it should, all leather and other textile materials used to construct Sidi GORE-TEX® boots are tested for breathability as well. So go on — take that extra step. Take it in total comfort because you’re wearing Sidi GORE-TEX® boots!

Perfect Light Adventure-Heavy Touring Boot- I've had BMW Santiago boots for a while but they are no longer made. The BMW All Around boot is too light. I did not want to spend this much on a boot but the sales persons at Revzilla said if I don' like them send them back. No way. These are keepers. They are high enough that the pegs on a GS do not dig into my shins. They are truly waterproof and very comfortable. I think they run true to side. The 46 in the BMW boot fits the same as this one. I think perhaps Sidi makes boots for them?? The buckle system is very easy to use. The secret to loosening is to push down on the grey "U" shape to release. I have had a smilar system on Sidi bike shoes and that lasted for years. One month now in temps from 25 F to 95 F and I did not even think about my feet. The soles do grip very well. Perhaps the best grip of any boot I've worn. Waterproof is a big YES. The perfect boot for the way I ride. Spend the big bucks and sometimes you do get what you pay for. January 22, 2015
Very good boots, but room for improvement Overall I'm really happy with these boots, although I've only been wearing them for a month so far. When I've had them on, they've been on my feet all day long. They've been quite comfortable, although the expandable leather flap behind the Velcro closure does rub slightly--nothing major, but I am aware of it when I walk or shift gears. Also, the ratchet adjustment on these boots could both tighten things up more as well as release tension for removal more easily. None of these complaints are anything serious in my mind, just a few details which keep these very good boots from being amazing boots. I have no real second thoughts about buying them. Great Boot very comfortable good styling Love the boots, the cam strap helps make them fit tight over the top of the foot which is great for sports bikes and adventure bikes. They are a small size, I normally wear a 43 but went to a 44 for these. December 1, 2014
Great do anything boots I got the Canyons to replace my older pair of rain boots that aren't really waterproof anymore. I wanted to upgrade to something with Goretex and more protection. I like the look of the Canyons and was sold on them by a Sidi employee I met at the MotoGP in Indy this year. I go from a touring get up and a more aggressive riding outfit and I think these actually look pretty good with both. They're pretty comfortable to walk around in but of course get pretty hot pretty quickly. They're fine while riding, but I haven't exactly worn them in 80+ weather yet. I haven't worn them in some serious cold yet either but I'm sure they're the warmest boots I've owned so far. I'm not usually a fan of this kind of strap, I prefer the velcro and zipper set up but it works easily enough that I don't even think about it anymore. October 13, 2014
Excellent, excellent boots, just wish they fit my left foot better. After years of riding in Red Wing style boots, I was heading out on a cross country trip and decided I had better get some real boots, preferably waterproof. I went to the local shops in Brooklyn, and didnt find anything. So I made the trip to Revzilla in PA, and I'm really glad I did. Terrific in store selection, and ridiculously helpful staff. I told my salesperson (who's name I unfortunately can't remember, a tall-ish woman with dark hair from Portland) what I was planning for the trip, what kind of bike I rode, my riding style, and my budget, and she handed me the Sidi Canyons. Classic looks, in simple and clean black design, with shin, ankle, and toe armor, and waterproof. I put them on, and wasn't sure about the size (i seem to be between a 46 and a 47 in Sidis), and she encouraged me to walk around the store in them for a while. i did, and they seemed good, so I got them. I immediately, i.e. the next day, hopped on my bike and headed out for a 5000+ mile ride down the east coast and across the south from NYC to Texas and back to the southeast. These boots were absolutely terrific. Comfortable on the bike (other than the below issue), totally walkable off the bike unlike the more technical/hinged offerings from Sidi, completely waterproof. Even in quite hot and humid Louisiana swamp conditions, I never felt like my feet were roasting. Totally happy with these, except one small issue. After days on the bike, my left foot started to get quite sore. I found myself pushing my foot back to the heel of the boot to relieve the pressure on my toes. I'm afraid I may have picked too small of a boot. I'm hoping they will break in more eventually, but with the goretex and the fact that I mostly sit still in them (on bike as opposed to walking around), i'm not sure they will. which is a bummer, because they are totally awesome, otherwise. Highly recommended, as long as you are more careful than I was about picking the right size. October 2, 2014
Well worth the money! I feel the boots are very well made and comfortable on long rides. The straps are easier to use over time. September 29, 2014
SIDI Canyon Boots Rock! Just completed a 3 day trip to do the Dragon in these boots. On an earlier trip the athletic shoes I had on didn't handle the rain well and the laces whipped my shins to death. These boots really caught my eye. Waterproof and styling in line with my style of riding "Goldwing and 49 years old". I got caught in a good soaker on this trip "you know the usual mountain traffic at 30 mph not going fast enough to keep the rain off you" they worked great not a hint of moisture inside. I put on 700 miles the first day, rode 300 while i was there and then 700 to get back home again. Doubled up on the socks and they were awesome. The buckle is a great feature and gives them a custom fit. The lug soles keep your feet on the highway pegs. There pricey but worth it. I wear a 12 in work boots and I went with the 47/12.5 fits great and after your feet swell up you can still get them off. September 8, 2014
Great boot! This is a great riding boot. Very comfortable. Very short breakin time. Boot can be worn everyday. Road in the rain and feet where dry!! Can't beat this boot for the money. September 4, 2014

Shannon B: I really like the stylish look of the boot and the reviews all seemed positive. I like that the zipper is protected, the clasp is easy to use and adjust. I like the shin protection as well as the suede leather over the toe to protect from the shifter. I've also read reviews of people who have had success re-soling the boot (including re-soling to add more height). Jeff K asked: Can a pair of jeans fit outside of these? Looking for a decent riding boot, but one that I can wear jeans with at work on casual day as well and look fairly decent around the office. How comfortable are they for all day walking around the office wear? Aug 10, 2014

A s: Hi Jeff,

I can answer the first part of your question because it was important to me as well. Yes, standard jeans will fit over these boots. I've not worn them enough to know how comfortable they will be all day. The foot bed is fairly stiff so expect don't expect casual shoe comfort for sure.

Guy B: Pretty comfortable.. Although they are sized "European"... I always wore a 10.5 and had a pair that size but was always a bit tight. Would not want to walk much in the 10.5's recently bought an 11 but have not worn them yet.

They do fit inside of Levis. I wear them riding Harleys in jeans.

AlecMyrddyn: Sidi may say "no", but many Canyon owners on ADVRider have had success bringing their boots to an experienced cobbler and having Vibram replacement soles installed. Apr 12, 2013
Reply to AlecMyrddyn Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Fletch9871: I have the Sidi Onroad which has an identical sole. I had mine resoled for $55.00 by a local shoe shop. They basically grind off most of the existing sole and bond a new Vibrame sole to the boot. 15,000 miles on the new soles and they're still good to go. I'm guessing the Vibram sole will conservatively last twice as long as the originals. Aug 29, 2011

Tango: Yes they can. If you can't find a local cobbler with the right sole, contact "Motonation" direct. They are the importers for the Sidi line. Nov 29, 2011

nopkle: Although Sidi may not offer resoling, a good cobbler can resole the Canyons with a quality vibram sole - cost ~$50. Aug 22, 2011

Gavin D asked: How does this boot compare, fit-wise to the Alpinestars Scout WP boot? I was able to try on a size 10 in the Alpinestars boot and it fit OK; maybe a bit loose in the heel.

Thanks very much!

Gary H: To me the Sidis run a little small. I should have went up another size. I wear 10 1/2 US and bought a 44 (as recommended by Revzilla) and should have bought a 45. I have to wear thin socks with mine. the toe box is a little snug. Don't let this dissuade you from purchasing the boots. I really like the boots. If I had the extra cash I would purchase 45's and keep both pair. Feb 18, 2014

Robert M: Hi Gavin, the Alpine Stars were a bit narrow for me. The Sidi's give a little more room in the toe box yet no heel slipping.
I love my Sidi's. I've been to Alaska & to Nova Scotia both from Colorado. They keep me dry and warm.
Hope this helps
Good luck,

Nick D: Hey,
I have the 9.5/43 boots and they fit great and protection is amazing.
I dropped my k1200s and ended up with rt ankle between curb and under the bike's entire weight. It would of crushed my ankle in any other style I had researched. Do not ride without them.

Ron P: Gavin,
I've had the Sidi Canyon for 2 years now. They fit true to size but I find then a bit narrow. I usually have no problem with boot width so they might be on the skinny side. Hope this helps

A shopper asked: currently on my second pair of tourmaster solution 2 boots. i ride a bmw gs with a cleated foot peg thats shreading the bottom of the boots.so i guess my question is is the sole strong enough to take the abuse from the cleated foot pegs?
getting tire of replacing boots ever 6k miles

Aaron L: Greetings! Revzilla forwarded me your questions - I'm guessing because I bought these boots from them... and maybe they know I ride a GS (oh, magic of the interwebs!). Anyway, I ride an 800GS with cleated pegs and have had zero problems with soles on these boots. I LOVE these boots. Great blend, comfy on road for long days - and I've taken them on some pretty gnarly single track on my 800GS and they've performed beautifully. Good option for GS riders in my opinion... if I ever buy a 250 for serious off-road shredding I'll go full motocross boot at that point. But for now these are perfect! Cheers! Dec 29, 2014

Thaddeus B: I have about 2500 mi on these on my F800GS w/stock pegs, most miles were on-road but with the rubber inserts removed. Can't see any sign of wear on the soles yet - zilch. Just a little abrasion on the suede insert on the top of the toe on shifter side. Would definitely buy again, though maybe down a size - I went up which wasn't necessary. Dec 28, 2014

Bill M: I have had a pair of these boots for two riding seasons on my 2011 R1200 GSA and there is not much wear at all on the soles. But I don't go offroad and stand on my pegs very much either. Perhaps someone who does more offroad will respond. The boots have performed as well as I expected in all areas. Dec 29, 2014

A shopper asked: How tall are these boots? Considering these or the On Road but I feel they are a little tall (14 in.?) for me.
Thank you

Paul D: I have size 8 Men's boots and from the floor to the back of the boot is 11" at the back and about 12" at the front. The heel is about 1.5", so the boot on comes up about 10" up your leg. I'm about 5'7" tall, so I'm no giant, but these boots have been part of my regular gear for two years now.

I just came back from an 8 day trip covering about 3,800 kms (sorry - Canadian!) and I wore the boots all day, everyday riding a BMW R1200RT. The were very comfortable and never too hot or too cold. We had one day of solid rain and these boots kept my feet 100% dry. Gortex is worth the cost and is fully waterproof. I have not been disappointed in these boots and they are also pretty comfortable for just walking around in too.

Ed G: I have had these boots for close to 2 years and use them strictly for on road. They are very comfortable riding and walking. Look nice enough that you can wear them to dinner and no one will say anything. I wear motocross boots when off road riding so I'm used to a higher boot. The height of these has never bothered me. Highly recommend them. Jul 6, 2014
