All that it claims... I got this helmet to have a "top of the line" make to ride with on my cruiser... I'm very pleased. The helmet looks awesome and is very comfortable. I have fairly loud pipes on my ride and the helmet keeps the sound well below annoying. Airflow is good and doesn't make a lot of difference in the noise factor when open. Overall, this helmet is everything I was expecting from my first Shoei...it is a "top of the line" helmet. I recommend this product at the highest level available. Revzilla's response to my order was fast (a couple days from order on line to receipt). I will continue to use Revzilla for all my motorcycling accessories. April 29, 2013
Great, light weight helmet, with Shoei quality and reputation built in I have a Shoei full face for long distance touring, but was looking for something more open for around town cruising. Bought a half-helmet last year, but never really felt safe/protected. All the reviews talked about what a great helmet the RJ Air is for those looking for an open face design, with some added safety features and benefits. Worn it only once for a couple of hours but it fits great, is light weight, and makes me feel more protected than a half helmet. Plus it's a Shoei so I know the construction is great and it will last several years. To boot, Revzilla price matched a lower price, and I received my helmet in a matter of day. A classic with modern construction, fit, finish and Snell rated. I have about 4 hours in this helmet so far but gotta say I am very satisfied with it. It is very light, excellent construction, fits great, and it's very quiet. I had been wearing an Arai for the last 12 years and was hesitant to switch brands but for the money,... I couldn't be happier. If you are looking for a very nice and Snell rated 3/4 helmet, it's a "keeper". March 30, 2013

Too tight on checks jaw for me Nice helmet if you like tight. Check/jaw feeling on an open face helmet was extremely tight. . Personally that is the reason I go open face rather then the full face helmets. February 28, 2013

My Shoei RJ Platinum helmet is comfortable, cool in the summer, and fits well. Air vents can be closed for cool weather riding. My wine color goes well with my Red VStar 650. I want to order a Shoei RJ Platinum and my head measures 24. I know the fit should be tight because it will loosen. I am afraid that an XL may be too big. The chart states that this helmet fit is toward the larger size. Feedback would be appreciated,

Answer: 
We find the RJ Platinum-R to fit true to Shoei's size chart, though it does have a rounder fit than other Shoei Helmets. At 24 inches, XL would be the appropriate size for you.
