I am a 58.5 size which is between a medium and a large. I purchased a large because I have a problem with helmets rubbing the front of my head just above my forehead. Now that the helmet is packed out a little it fits a little big in the cheeks so I ordered the larger cheek pads and it feels quite comfortable. My head is an Arai Profile shape but nobody makes an open face/ 3/4 helmet in that shape (long oval). Even the Arai 3/4 is a intermediate oval and if they offered it in white I would have bought it instead but it has gotten poor reviews for being noisy. The Shoei J-wing helmet is very well made, and is a pretty decent fit, the only downside is that nobody has them, I want to order another one for my girlfriend in XS but can't seem to locate any. I wouldn't say that it is an especially loud helmet and the field of vision is excellent. It seems to vent pretty well without being cold on these cooler days we've had lately and it resists wind buffeting in all but the worst crosswinds at speed.
