It's round and black
Probably early days to be reviewing this tire, however, I will make a go of it.

I'm satisfied. I ride a VStrom entirely on road and while I've only ridden a couple hundred miles with it so far I like it better than the Bridgestone that was on it based on the days I've ridden in the wet.

Face it - if you are reading this review you want someone to say it's ok to buy and inexpensive tire. Based on the commuting and tag grabbing I do it works great. If you're riding the IBR or going to Prudoe Bay I would think twice about this tire. If you're not - well - it's round and black.

Handles pretty good in the rain
I just got home after a 30 mile ride in the rain. This rear tire handled real well on wet pavement. Didn't lose traction at all, I like it. 3/31/14.

Very happy with my purchase
Put on my '04 Bonneville wanted a beefier than stock look. Not disappointed. Handles great, taking off and stopping never felt better, and that price! My last tire was the shinko touring model and lasted me about 12,000 miles, so hoping for a long life with these as well.

Very satisfied
Just put 3000 miles on the new rear tire. So happy with the tire, I am ordering a Shinko front tire; enough said. And the delivery speed and total price of the rear tire from RevZilla were exemplary.

Can't Go Wrong With This Tire
Works good. Lasts a long time. Very inexpensive. You can't lose with this tire. Much better than the factory tires on the TU250X.

Very good tires. Not as grippy as a Pirelli Sport Demon but I like them just as much as the Battleax BT-45's. I get about 8000 miles from them before changing. I like these a lot. Have had 4 of them now and will be buying another soon.

Referred by friends...and very satisfied. Great price, awesome grip, and very reasonable wear...I will purchase this tire again.
Kristopher W on Dec 13, 2015
The price is great and the tire is wonderful. I put over 12,000 miles on it and am replacing it with the same make and model. I could get another 1,000 to 2,000 miles but rear tire picked up a nail and is not holding pressure. I replace front and rear as a set. Tire grips as well and lasts as long as my prior Michelin tires, which cost a lot more.

I used to run Bridgestone Spitfires on my 1984 BMW, but I tried these a couple of years ago. I can not tell a difference with dry grip, wet grip, cornering, or braking between the two tires. Mileage is slightly affected, the Shinko's have lasted about 8,000miles. I used to get about 10,000 miles out of the Spitfires that cost twice as much. I expected to get half of the mileage, but to my surprise these tires have lasted almost as long.

There are lots of dirt roads around where I live in Vermont. What wears a tire more, dirt or pavement? And I don't mean off-road dirt: these are just plain ole dirt roads on my commute.

Would you recommend these for 1/2 dirt 1/2 paved riding, or is there a similar tire you would recommend?

Thanks!
A shopper on Nov 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: ive riding down some dirt/ mostly sand roads down here in north Florida and i wish they had a little more grip but i get down them just fine i would say about a 1/3 of my riding would be the dirt/sand road. i dont know about slick mud because the grown up there is different. if i was you i would go with something more like the shinko 705.
Can I run Tubes with shinko 712's?
A shopper on Feb 24, 2013
BEST ANSWER: All tubeless tires can accept a tube.
The front tire on my bike is a MT 90B16 M/C72H. The back is a 130/90 16 M/C 67H. I see the rear tire listed in a Shinko but not the front. Are they the same?
