Bought this as a replacement for the original rear tire on my CB500F, which was punctured by a razor blade at mile 94, plugged, and ridden for 1500 miles before starting to lose a significant amount of air. I pushed the OEM Dunlop pretty far in the corners and was prepared to make somewhat of a sacrifice with the 005, but have been very pleasantly surprised by its performance (I've put about 600 miles on it so far): no discernible difference.
I can't comment on tread life or wet traction yet, but am very satisfied thus far and would recommend the Shinko 005's to anyone who's budget conscious * cheap * like me.

bought the front and back set together when they were on sale, and I can say I do not regret it one bit. the grip is all there as these are soft tires that you can leave your finger nail imprint on them, but, in contrast I find that they do not wear as fast as I thought they would, I still have hairs on my pair and I ride every single day. I have to say I am very pleased with these tires and how quickly they arrived. I will definitely buy them again from revzilla.

Great Rear Tire
This is the second 005 rear tire I have put on my 06 GSXR 1000 and will continue to order these. The last one I had for about 6000 miles and still had a little to go but went ahead and switched it out so I could change both tires at the same time.

Ride great. Strongly suggest for people on a budget with a lower powered bike. They dont spin at all. Turn well. Do great in the rain.

Great Tire for a Budget Minded New Rider
I picked up a screw in the rear tire that was on my R6 when I purchased it. It was replaced with the Shinko as it was the matching tire for what was on front.
After reading all of the sketchy and honestly, polar opposite extreme reviews, I have determined that this is a darn good tire, especially for someone just getting into sport riding. While it isn't a 2CT or 3CT, it still offers amazing and communicative grip.
It inspires a great deal of confidence to lean in further and turn in faster as the skill level increases.
I haven't experienced any loss of traction yet, even in rain.
With just under 2,000 miles, it appears to be wearing very well with no center flattening.
I think this is a great all around, day to day and back country twisty tire.

Jason R:I have about 900 miles on a pair of these tires and so far they are very nice. Steep at the side walls, wide in the middle. As for your knee dragging question, I don't believe a 'cost effective' touring tire with M/H compound would be the best for track riding (knee dragging). I'm an aggressive commuter on an FZ1. If my plan were to lean into turns that far, I'd want a M/S tire for better grip, built specifically for sport/track riding (vs. all around tire). Your life... Just my opinion. For everyone else, great basic/fun/cost-effective tire option. Seems to be wearing in all the right places.May 12, 2015
Heather N:I have honestly never dragged a knee with them but I have been pretty far over and not any issues. They don't seem to slip even when you get on the throttle in the corner. I wouldn't try it right out of the gate, I would definitely let them warm up a little first.May 12, 2015
