I love the helmet. It does everything it advertised. This helmet is exactly as advertised and everything I needed, and most things I wanted, in a helmet. If you haven't worn a helmet before or in awhile, you may find the fit of the chin strap a little snug, but you'll get used to it. Some things I'm going to add: - A quick release buckle (on the chin strap) - A detachable flashing light (to the back…for city riding at night) My only regret, is that I found another Scorpion 900 helmet on sale for $119.00 just a few days ago. Scorpion Exo 900 vs Bell Revolver So I had to pick my first ever helmet and decided on the modular type and got it narrowed down to two. I had the Scorpion Exo 900 and the Bell Revolver side by side to make my final decision on ( I was at the Philly store for 2 hours, so trust me I had both of them on and off at least 10 times). I did like the look of the Bell better but went with the Scorpion because at the end it was a lot easier for me to get my glasses on while I was in the helmet. The Exo is overall a good helmet. I've only had it for about 2 weeks but never had it fog up and never felt hot or cold in it. It looks great (Got the matte black one) and is very quiet, due to the big neck surround and the big chin cover. The air pump for the neck piece does not seem to fill up or deflate at all, but if fits very snug without messing with it. My only issue with it, which I knew right away might be a problem when I had the Bell besides it, is the drop down visor mechanism.... compared to the Bell it had a loose plastic feeling that was just not smooth in the operation. I also did not like the mechanism being on the side of the helmet vs on the bottom like the Revolver. The most annoying thing by far however is the noise the drop down visor makes when you hit bumps. I can hear the visor move around inside the helmet when I hit anything. When I was playing around with the Bell it had a great feel of a solid gear engagement and no loose feeling of any parts, and was very smooth with the up and down transition. Although the drop down visor has a couple spots that you can stop it so its not fully down or up... you really have to push the button to get it to slide and then when it does move it just slams all the way down. The chin strap is a regular button style and I didn't think it would make a big difference but now that most of my time putting on my helmet is trying to find the button to clip the strap so it doesn't smack me around when I ride, it would definitely be nice to just have a magnet on the end of it like the Bell. So overall, it is a good helmet, it is my first ever helmet and besides being noisy on bumpy roads I like it. But honestly If I could do it all over again, I'd just deal with having a harder time putting my glasses on and save $70 and not have to deal with the noises when I hit bumps (Living in NJ doe not help). Very good helmet, excelente versatility first of all a huge thanks for the revzilla team, I needed change the size of the helmet in very short time on my stay in USA. The change was lost for ups and they send my a new one at the next day. That customer service make the Revzilla a trusted seller. About the helmet be carefull with the size chart. I'm round shape, 62 cm and the XL has been small. The XXL is the correct size for my, even in my first try the XXL felt it tied, however with the daily use be loosened and it feels good. The principal reason of my choise was the versatility, a 3/4 Helmet for summer time, a modular helmet for rain and winter season and the possibility to replace the internal visor for a different color. I changed the standard black for ambar to use at night to protect my eyes for the dust. Over day I use my sunglass. My scala rider Q1 work perfect with the helmet. The space for the speakers and mic are great. You not feel the speakers are there The bad ones, airflow is not enough. The peak of 3/4 need an easy way to release, once you put in place is very dificult to take off. I hope Scorpion solve this to two details in the next evolution. January 17, 2014
Love the Versatility of the Helmet Absolutely love the look of the helmet itself and the fact that it is a modular that turns into a 3/4 helmet makes it that much better. That being said, it is on the heavy side due to the fact that it has so many parts to enable you to switch between full face and 3/4. Cut-outs make installation of a bluetooth headset that much easier as the indentations line up perfectly with the head. My only actual gripe about the helmet is the fact that at speeds exceeding 50+ mi. in full face mode, it will tend to whistle like a tea kettle a bit. Either way, I still love the helmet. It is definitely more than meets the eye. December 5, 2013
Bought because of look and features Love how this helmet can be a full face in the morning, then a 3/4 face in the afternoon with no problem. Helmet looks good too. Fits well except it is a little tight causing soreness in my jaw after an hour ride. Quiet at speeds of 70+ but the windshield does shake and vibrate. Overall, great Helmet for the price. November 18, 2013
Try it, you'll like it. This is my 3rd Scorpion helmet but my 1st modular. I've only ridden 200 miles but I love it already. Opening the chin guard at a light or to chat with a buddy is awesome. To remove the chin guard is as easy as it looks on the video. I wasn't sure if I was going to like the 3/4 look but I was wrong, I love it also. October 30, 2013
Love it Great modular helmet! The bang for the buck on this product is amazing! Product review video for this helmet is spot on! September 9, 2013
It's great! I really like it. The overall fit is perfect, however, it's a little tight in my cheek area. Will take some adjusting! September 6, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Paul M: Good rating/review, at the right price. Mar 7, 2014
Hyland C: Chose this because I already had one like it and loved it. My wife had another helmet and wanted one like mine. She loves it. Quiet and comfortable. Feb 24, 2014
T O: I have owned this helmet in he past, needed to replace it. Was real glad I had it on at the time, it was / is a great helmet. Feb 2, 2014
James N: My emphasis was on comfort, low noise levels and visibility. After extensive online research I selected the schubert C3 Pro but it was not available, besides I find German companies to be rather arrogant. I thought an inflatable collar was a great idea to reduce wind noise Jan 3, 2014
Robert M: Great helmet Dec 12, 2013
Robert M: Wanted a flip w/ sun shield, and this had a good Web Bike World review Dec 3, 2013
Mike K: It had all the features I wanted, so far so good Nov 17, 2013
Robert F: Previous experience with Scorpion helmets Nov 1, 2013
Jenny L: The rating and the consumer satisfaction was excellent. My son also liked the quickwik mesh that can be washed and the air tech option. Ans finally because it has such a great venting system and safety rating. Aug 22, 2013
Bill S: Wanted a helmet with high visibility and this bright yellow did the job. We are always getting responses from people about how visible we are on the road. The venting is not the best, but its ok. We've rode with the helmets on 2 trips of 7000 miles and the helmet is still a little tight around the cheeks, but you get use to it after a half hour. Would buy again. Aug 14, 2013
godfrey a: i wanted a modular helmet for it's flexability in all seasons. this seemed to be the best buy with all the features i like included. I find Anthony's video reviews informative and thorough on all their equipment. I look forward to future purchases with revzilla, They are a cut above the rest of the competition. Aug 9, 2013
A shopper asked: I have a transformer style helmet from another brand. I find it to be excessively loud. It caused me to buy $60 earplugs that only help a little. Even when it is fully closed up, the wind thumping against my ears is terrible, so I don't wear it anymore.

How loud do you find the EXO900 ?

BigCharles: There ain't no such thing as a free lunch!
The phrase popularized by Milton Friedman also applies to helmets.
You get what you pay for.
It's a good helmet remembering that the noise sensation inside helmet derived from the quality of the helmet itself added to your motorcycle aerodynamic protection.
Sometimes your head is in a turbulence zone provided by the windshield.
Sometimes no protection is better than a little protection. Find your comfort zone.
Among the modular helmets this this is good.
But there is not $ 600 bucks helmet.
I hope this helps.

orangebanana: The wind noise around the visor attachment area is excessively loud. You need earplugs and even then it gets unbearable on long rides (8+ hours). I am going back to full face non-modular helmet. As much as I will miss the transformable aspects, the wind noise is just too much for me. If I duck completely down behind my windscreen, the noise level is wonderful, but then my back hurts after a while. If I sit normally, or even stand up completely above the wind screen, the wind noise level is just simply not bearable for me. Apr 15, 2013

MotoElvis: The Miglia is somewhat noisy--and I have glued a high density foam into the ear areas because there is a big gap at the ears where there is just the shell. Any good in-ear foam plug will make a world of difference. Try different plugs till you find a good fit.
If anti-fogging is not a concern for you, this is a good value helmet, with basic features.
If fogging is a problem, the Nolan N90, which I use most of the time, is much better because of superior ventilation and an included Pinlock lens system.

prochiro66: I have only put on about 750 miles while wearing this helmet. I do find it to be louder than my conventional full face helmet. I would also be curious as to the noise levels of other companies helmets and what can be done to bring the decibels down. I put on 650 miles in 3 days and it is not bad enough to make me stop wearing the helmet, but I do wish it was not so loud.
Good luck to you on this issue.

Deadeye47: The only sound problems I have with this helmet is some whistling at higher speeds. I have pretty sensitive ears and have never found myself uncomfortable, even on long 70 mph trips. I can't compare this helmet to a lot of other modular styles, but based on your description of your current helmet, I believe this one would be quieter. Apr 18, 2013

Kelly M: I have this helmet and find it to be pretty loud. I have speakers in it as well and with the volume full blast, I can't hear them at all. I just attributed it to the fact that it is not solid. I don't have any other solid full face helmets to compare it to though. Jan 25, 2012

Smoothbassman: I had an HJC Helmet before and this one is way quieter! The dams all the way around along with the great seals around the visor and hinges cut down the noise tremendously. Mar 14, 2012

Peebd: I rate the sound suppression as good. The noise is noticeably better than my previous 3/4 helmet but I still wear foam earplugs because I have tinnitus. Jul 17, 2012

Chris K: Scorpion helmets can fit on the smaller side, so be sure to check out the size chart before ordering. Also, any modular helmet will fit rather round - which is comparable to how HJC helmets fit. May 3, 2011

Wingdreamer: The Scorpion fits small. I normally use an XL, but had to go with a XXL on the Scorpion. Still seems a bit snug, but even after 3 uses, its already breaking in. Love it! Apr 2, 2013

waltercpa: The fit is right on with the sizing chart. It fits tight when first put on but after a couple hours it fits snug but very confortable with plenty ear space. Aug 1, 2011

malonejr: I am wearing a 900 exo and the only time it gets tight is when I am wearing a liner or my pony tail is bunched up inside the back of the helmet Jan 4, 2013

Smoothbassman: This helmet has a narrow fit. I went from an HJC 2XL up to a Scorpion 3XL to get the same fit. Its actually a nicer fit than the HJC. Mar 14, 2012

SCspyderryder: I had an HJC CL-Max. In medium, the HJC was a little loose, but their small was too tight. The Scorpion is perfect for me in medium. Jun 24, 2011

A shopper asked: Specifically, is there a Pinlock Max Vision shield available for this helmet? Feb 6, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
ralford: Pretty sure they would day their anti-fog coating would obviate the need for the pinlock. Only had mine for a couple of days and 2500 miles, with unfortunately no rain... Had a pinlock on my Shoei but always seemed to have the wrong screen in place... Aug 3, 2012

Wingdreamer: no, but that design is used on the HJC modular. The good news is, because the Scorpion has an anti fog shield that actually works, you dont need the pin lock system to "add" antifog liners.. Apr 2, 2013

A shopper asked: Can I use this helmet with Cardo G4 system? Jan 23, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
BenFromUncle: Yes. The clamp will fit, Scorpion left a gap. In the helmet pictures, there's a small panel just below the wearer's left ear: just below THAT, at the rim, they've provided a gap for a Bluetooth headset's clamp. The boom might be a tad long, but you can work with that: too short would be a show-stopper. Apr 2, 2012
Reply to BenFromUncle Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Cardo G4 system will work with the Scorpion EXO-900 Transformer Helmet, however, you'll have to modify the helmets finishing ring on the bottom of the shell so the clipping mechanism fits securely. Or to avoid making any modifications you could use the surface mount. May 3, 2012

Dennis C: I have no idea. I do not use headsets. There are too many distractions as it is.
I also pull over in my car to use the cell even though I have blue tooth through my audio system in the car. Enjoy the bike for the ride and save the chatter for a safer time.

Check with the manufacturer.
