Does what it says it will do! Been a few years since last I owned a Bike, so it's difficult to compare it to other helmets. But so far, so good. This is the first Modular helmet I've ever owned, and I really like the innovation. The Uclear in it is crystal clear at road speeds, and it color matches my Stratoliner. I'm pretty happy with it! Comfortable, versatile and saved me once. I was wearing this 2 years ago when I was launched over the bars at 70 mph. I hit the right side between the ear and the eyeport right around temple height. I was K.O.d and my bell was rung pretty good judging by how I felt when I came to. However, a CT Scan that day showed no issues regarding brain trauma. So, it did it's job in protecting me. However, because my head impacted near where the side of the chin bar pivot attaches, it detached on that side on impact. The chinbar was still locked to its latch on the left side so my face was still protected. Could I have expected a Nolan or Shoei to withstand that? I'm a mechanical engineer by trade but not a helmet engineer so all I know is that the forces were tremendous and a lot to ask of a helmet to take. The 2nd and 3rd impact during rag-dolling left a minor dent in 2 places on the back of the noggin. I got to admire the damage for a while and it appeared to do what it was designed to do, crush. I'm happy with my outcome when all is said and done. So, I bought another one. It fit my head better than the other modulars at the time and I had room without my chin touching full time. All the others, my chin was right up against the bar. I like the air pump bladder to custom fit and reduce noise. Wind noise is a little better than average for a modular and airflow is good in the Texas summers. The sunshield just clears my schnozz too. Durability... the plastic trim around the bottom of the shell where the neckroll is comes unglued (both did this) and my current one, the EPS Styrofoam inner shell seems to have come unbonded from the composite outer shell. But, it still fits me the best out of all the modulars. Even if there is a better helmet out there, it won't protect the best if it doesn't fit properly. So I just ordered my 3rd. October 27, 2014
Like the removeable chin guard Having always used a 3/4 helmet made it quite a change for me! I am quite closterphobic so I don't use the chin guard but instead use it as a 3/4 helmet. Without the chin guard the area to which the chin guard clips into is a bigger area than the normal 3/4 which does take a bit of visibility. I purchased this helmet with hopes of occasionally using it as a full face / modular but will take some time to do that! Onew thing I have found is that the cheek area is a bit tighter than normal and when adding the chin guard it makes it even tighter! I really like having the drop down visor as my normal use is sun glasses or safety glasses but having that extra shade is great when needed and it moves rather easily. Overall I am enjoying it and would git it a 8 out of 10! October 6, 2014
Great Helmet for the Price Bought this helmet in April and have ridden with it almost every day since. I commute roughly 30 miles each way and so far have ridden in temps from the low 20's to 100+. The fit took a while to break in but after a about a month I had no complaints about tight spots. The Only complaint I have is the odd water leak down the center of the visor in really heavy rain and or snow. Yup ridden in both. Not a deal breaker seams how everything else is usually wet but it can be a bit distracting. September 30, 2014
Nice lid This has within 1 month proven itself as my go to helmet. It's a heavy slightly loud helmet, but the convenience of the modular design coupled with the shape of the integrated visor have me grabbing this one over any of the others in the garage. I would recommend this helmet to anyone looking for a quality modular. September 29, 2014
Great Value - Excellent Product I've had a Scorpion helmet before, and I loved it. I recently bought a Shoei GT Air helmet. This is $500 helmet, and a very nice helmet as well. But, I just wasn't very happy with it. I saw this helmet in an email from scorpion and figured I would give it a try. I could sell my Shoei for more than I would pay for this (it sold for $300). Yes, I lost $200 on my Shoei, but I am happy. This EXO-900 is very comfortable. It is easier to put on than the Shoei and my last Scorpion. Also, it is quieter than the Shoei. The strap is easier to snap. A little thing, but when you are in a hurry to get your helmet on, it counts. It has the flip down sun visor, same as the shoei. When I flip the visor down, it usually hits my in the nose. Just a minor annoyance. I really like the flip up front portion of the helmet. Makes it easy to put on. Overall, this is a great helmet. Scorpion has a great reputation and great quality. I highly recommend this helmet. September 22, 2014
Excellent, Mid-range Modular I've ridden over 10k miles with one of these helmets and have a love/hate relationship with it. It has held up well, works easily, fits pretty good, and feels relatively light. After 6 hours or so, my left ear starts to complain even after doing a little "customization" of the styro, but maybe I have weird ears. Sound- I wear ear plugs most of the time and with them the helmet produces a very quiet ride. It's quite acceptable without the plugs for short rides too. Care/maintenance- Pads are great; easy to remove to wash, so no ripeness despite many hours riding in way too hot temps. Visors are easily switched out (I use a tinted one on bright days and a clear for rain or night riding). Ventilation- excellent and easily adjustable. With all the vents closed, there's enough air movement to keep fogging down until the temps and humidity get extreme (<50 degrees and raining). When it's hot, the helmet stays cool as long as you're moving. Opening the front is a god-send when stopped in nasty traffic or talking with border guards. Accessories- The headphone sockets fit SENA speakers perfectly and the groove on the left side accommodated the mic stalk slicker than frog fuzz. The inner sun visor lever works great, but is just above the SENA module, so it can be a little testy to hit with heavier gloves. Summary- Excellent helmet with the compromises of a modular. Well-made, tough, light, and strong. September 21, 2014
Not widely available in Malaysia for the price, the helmet performed well the fit is large but i still fill some pressure above my ears if i ride for more then an hour.(not sure if its the helmet though) LOVE the sunvisor, large enough even in open face mode. good top head ventilation unfortunately, not so good for the chin vent. you can really feel the airflow on top but nothing on the chin, IMHO the pump doesnt make that much of a difference. maybe if the can extend the pump cushion a bit more into the helmet, September 8, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
jeff b: I chose this as my FIRST helmet because of the closeout price, the features, the ease of use, the reviews and I really like the simple design! I really wanted a modular, but did not want to pay over $200.00. This fit the bill! Had to return because the fit is a little small, pay close attention to the size recommendations! The one I received was everything Revzilla said it would be. Sep 19, 2014
Rich H: Needed a modular that I could afford. This one has great reviews, and Anthony's video demo was of course a factor. Sep 14, 2014
Denise T: Recommendations on Google. Watched video demo, and I wanted a 3/4 helmet in yellow. Sep 14, 2014
Graham W: Already have one - great fit at good price - third of the price of Schuberth but definitely better than 3 out of 10 more like 8. Sep 14, 2014
Kurt H: Your great video review is what moved me to choose Revzilla. Nice work and thankyou. Sep 8, 2014
Biill S: I was undecided on a full face or an open face. I never owned a full face and if I don't like it I can use the open face. I am a big fan of scorpion's. Me and my wife took a 3 day ride last week and our helmets just didn't fit right. I ended up giving her my scorpion it fit her better than myself and needed to purchase a new lid. If the wife likes this design she will get a new lid too. We both own a scorpion x0 from 3 years ago. Jul 8, 2014
Robert A: Because it has the ability to transform from full helmet to half helment
Also the shade looks coos too
Jul 6, 2014
Jerry J: Flexibility and communication port hole. Jul 2, 2014
Daniel B: A Motorcycle Safety Foundation Instructor recommended it. May 21, 2014
Jeffrey R: Wanted a full face helmet for commute to work protection with the option of 3/4 conversion. The price was right and this helmet is great. May 14, 2014
Doug R: Features, Price, & I already own a Scorpion Half helmet & like the way they fit my skull Apr 20, 2014
Wayne K: Haven't ridden in the last 10 years, so there's been a ton of advances in helmets. This helmet had the look and features I wanted. Was about $50 more than I wanted to pay, but I feel I'm getting my moneys worth. If it don't work out I'll let you know. Apr 2, 2014
Paul M: Good rating/review, at the right price. Mar 7, 2014
Hyland C: Chose this because I already had one like it and loved it. My wife had another helmet and wanted one like mine. She loves it. Quiet and comfortable. Feb 24, 2014
T O: I have owned this helmet in he past, needed to replace it. Was real glad I had it on at the time, it was / is a great helmet. Feb 2, 2014
James N: My emphasis was on comfort, low noise levels and visibility. After extensive online research I selected the schubert C3 Pro but it was not available, besides I find German companies to be rather arrogant. I thought an inflatable collar was a great idea to reduce wind noise Jan 3, 2014
Robert M: Great helmet Dec 12, 2013
Robert M: Wanted a flip w/ sun shield, and this had a good Web Bike World review Dec 3, 2013
Mike K: It had all the features I wanted, so far so good Nov 17, 2013
Robert F: Previous experience with Scorpion helmets Nov 1, 2013
Jenny L: The rating and the consumer satisfaction was excellent. My son also liked the quickwik mesh that can be washed and the air tech option. Ans finally because it has such a great venting system and safety rating. Aug 22, 2013
Bill S: Wanted a helmet with high visibility and this bright yellow did the job. We are always getting responses from people about how visible we are on the road. The venting is not the best, but its ok. We've rode with the helmets on 2 trips of 7000 miles and the helmet is still a little tight around the cheeks, but you get use to it after a half hour. Would buy again. Aug 14, 2013
godfrey a: i wanted a modular helmet for it's flexability in all seasons. this seemed to be the best buy with all the features i like included. I find Anthony's video reviews informative and thorough on all their equipment. I look forward to future purchases with revzilla, They are a cut above the rest of the competition. Aug 9, 2013
A shopper asked: I have a transformer style helmet from another brand. I find it to be excessively loud. It caused me to buy $60 earplugs that only help a little. Even when it is fully closed up, the wind thumping against my ears is terrible, so I don't wear it anymore.

How loud do you find the EXO900 ?

orangebanana: The wind noise around the visor attachment area is excessively loud. You need earplugs and even then it gets unbearable on long rides (8+ hours). I am going back to full face non-modular helmet. As much as I will miss the transformable aspects, the wind noise is just too much for me. If I duck completely down behind my windscreen, the noise level is wonderful, but then my back hurts after a while. If I sit normally, or even stand up completely above the wind screen, the wind noise level is just simply not bearable for me. Apr 15, 2013

MotoElvis: The Miglia is somewhat noisy--and I have glued a high density foam into the ear areas because there is a big gap at the ears where there is just the shell. Any good in-ear foam plug will make a world of difference. Try different plugs till you find a good fit.
If anti-fogging is not a concern for you, this is a good value helmet, with basic features.
If fogging is a problem, the Nolan N90, which I use most of the time, is much better because of superior ventilation and an included Pinlock lens system.

prochiro66: I have only put on about 750 miles while wearing this helmet. I do find it to be louder than my conventional full face helmet. I would also be curious as to the noise levels of other companies helmets and what can be done to bring the decibels down. I put on 650 miles in 3 days and it is not bad enough to make me stop wearing the helmet, but I do wish it was not so loud.
Good luck to you on this issue.

Deadeye47: The only sound problems I have with this helmet is some whistling at higher speeds. I have pretty sensitive ears and have never found myself uncomfortable, even on long 70 mph trips. I can't compare this helmet to a lot of other modular styles, but based on your description of your current helmet, I believe this one would be quieter. Apr 18, 2013

Kelly M: I have this helmet and find it to be pretty loud. I have speakers in it as well and with the volume full blast, I can't hear them at all. I just attributed it to the fact that it is not solid. I don't have any other solid full face helmets to compare it to though. Jan 25, 2012

Smoothbassman: I had an HJC Helmet before and this one is way quieter! The dams all the way around along with the great seals around the visor and hinges cut down the noise tremendously. Mar 14, 2012

Peebd: I rate the sound suppression as good. The noise is noticeably better than my previous 3/4 helmet but I still wear foam earplugs because I have tinnitus. Jul 17, 2012

BigCharles: There ain't no such thing as a free lunch!
The phrase popularized by Milton Friedman also applies to helmets.
You get what you pay for.
It's a good helmet remembering that the noise sensation inside helmet derived from the quality of the helmet itself added to your motorcycle aerodynamic protection.
Sometimes your head is in a turbulence zone provided by the windshield.
Sometimes no protection is better than a little protection. Find your comfort zone.
Among the modular helmets this this is good.
But there is not $ 600 bucks helmet.
I hope this helps.

A shopper asked: The video description says at 5:36 that this helmet comes "with the Peak", "not an extra purchase"
But the product description says, "Open face peak visor sold separately."
They contradict each other.
So which is it?
Does the purchase of the helmet include the Full face visor peak or not?
Sep 2, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Joseph H: The helmet is a transformer. It is full-face with visor and sun shade. The lower section of the helmet can be removed converting it to a 3/4 helmet, and the peak/small bill can be installed. That attachment comes with the purchase. You sacrifice the clear, full visor, but the sun shield is still available. Of course, you can purchase different tints for the sun shield that are easily installed. It's a great helmet. Flexible and adapatable for different riding situations and different weather. Sep 2, 2014

Kevin C: Yes, the purchase does include the "Peak Visor". It also stated this in Scorpion's description. You should not have any issue when purchasing from Revzilla. I had to exchange mine for a larger size with no problems or questions asked. I'd give them a call if you have further questions. You will get a prompt response to all your questions... Aaron B: I bought 2 of these helmets, and they both came with the peak. The only time you would use it though is if you removed the full face piece, and used it as a open face helmet. It does not fit on the helmet like a dual sport helmet. Sep 10, 2014

Chris K: Scorpion helmets can fit on the smaller side, so be sure to check out the size chart before ordering. Also, any modular helmet will fit rather round - which is comparable to how HJC helmets fit. May 3, 2011

Wingdreamer: The Scorpion fits small. I normally use an XL, but had to go with a XXL on the Scorpion. Still seems a bit snug, but even after 3 uses, its already breaking in. Love it! Apr 2, 2013

Smoothbassman: This helmet has a narrow fit. I went from an HJC 2XL up to a Scorpion 3XL to get the same fit. Its actually a nicer fit than the HJC. Mar 14, 2012

ralford: Pretty sure they would day their anti-fog coating would obviate the need for the pinlock. Only had mine for a couple of days and 2500 miles, with unfortunately no rain... Had a pinlock on my Shoei but always seemed to have the wrong screen in place... Aug 3, 2012

Wingdreamer: no, but that design is used on the HJC modular. The good news is, because the Scorpion has an anti fog shield that actually works, you dont need the pin lock system to "add" antifog liners.. Apr 2, 2013

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
BenFromUncle: Yes. The clamp will fit, Scorpion left a gap. In the helmet pictures, there's a small panel just below the wearer's left ear: just below THAT, at the rim, they've provided a gap for a Bluetooth headset's clamp. The boom might be a tad long, but you can work with that: too short would be a show-stopper. Apr 2, 2012
Reply to BenFromUncle Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Cardo G4 system will work with the Scorpion EXO-900 Transformer Helmet, however, you'll have to modify the helmets finishing ring on the bottom of the shell so the clipping mechanism fits securely. Or to avoid making any modifications you could use the surface mount. May 3, 2012
