Protection is key This helmet seems heavy to hold, but once on it's not an issue. The inner padding keeps it snug as you roll down the road. There is a built in pump system to keep it in place but I haven't had to use it. The fit is perfect. It's not a quiet helmet, there is wind noise. For me this is not an issue I ride a cruiser and would be forced to listen to my pipe. One of the key selling points for me was the ability to transform the helmet into an open face design. I've only done this in the house to see how easy it would be to transform, It was simple. With the cold weather I've only ridden with it in the full face design. I keep a shaven head and could tell that the vents work as designed. I'm very satisfied with this Scorpion helmet. March 23, 2015
Can be seen for miles Bought this helmet to replace my Bell that took a pretty good hit when I had to lay my bike down to avoid a driver who just simply wasn't paying attention. First one arrived with a crack extending down from the chin vent. One quick call to customer service and a quick email with some photos and the replacement was on the way. Fantastic customer service. Helmet fits a little tight especially at the jaw line. Good airflow, hasn't fogged yet. Modular mechanism locks solidly and the overall fit and finish is excellent. Overall the helmet feels solid and comfortable. Primarily bought this for my daily commute just wanted a little more visibility to the inattentive drivers on their cell phones. Really fills the bill wife says it makes me look like a neon Dark Helmet, from Space Balls fame, but whatever it takes to be seen. February 9, 2015
Exo 900 vs Nolan N43 Trilogy Compare I had had a Nolan N43 Trilogy helmet. Loved the design, but it functioned terribly. I have a sensitive left ear and the noise that reverberated within the helmet was killing my left ear so badly, that I began to wear ear buds. I also found that the detachable chin guard made getting to the ear buds nearly impossible, not to mention the sun shade did not drop down far enough. I found this helmet at Revzilla. In fact, I believe I bought this very helmet as it was a demo. It arrived in spotless condition. This helmet was MUCH quieter than my Nolan, and had a much better and wider viewing field. Best I’ve ever owned actually. The sun shield dropped way down and was perfect. But what blew me away the most was the ventilation. I could feel the draft on the top of my head. All in all, I’m very impressed with this helmet. Far more than I expected actually. The value was amazing. February 5, 2015
Love this helmet! Light, airy, tight fit, and great peripheral vision. February 3, 2015
Finally a modular I like! After sending back my Nolan modular (I hated the narrow vision and it fit very narrow) I can say I finally found the modular helmet I'll be keeping for a while. I've had HJC, Scorpion, and a few other brand helmets out there. I love the way the Scorpions fit my head and this one fits the same. I also like the strap system and internal visor a lot better then the Nolan. I put a mirrored finish visor on, with the internal sun visor I don't have to squint on those sunny New Mexico days anymore. This is a modular so it is a little more noisy than a standard full face but the adaptability of the modular makes up for that. This is the perfect helmet for my F800GS Adventure. I've ridden down to 20* weather and with my neck sock I am fully comfortable (I have heated grips and an adjustable windshield as well) Comfort= it squeezes my jaw line ever so slightly when in full face, I don't notice until I flip the front up, I know all helmets do this but its more noticeable on this one. I bet it will get better with more ride time. DO NOT LET THIS BE A DECIDING FACTOR, you can fit different size pads if it really bugs you. January 23, 2015
great product for a great price I am very happy with the helmet and its features. It is a sharp looking helmet with a sun visor for convenience. January 5, 2015
Good helmet for the price I was looking for a good helmet for a good price and that is exactly what I got. I really like that you can turn it into an open helmet with very little effort and time. January 5, 2015

Alastair M: I have owned and used modular helmets since the early 80's and this is my second EXO-900. In my experience they have proven to be comfortable, reasonably quiet and a good value. Depending on day and mood and destination I move from sidecar rig to road bike to dual sport and find the chin guard to peak change over to be convenient and easy to use. Dec 30, 2014

jeff b: I chose this as my FIRST helmet because of the closeout price, the features, the ease of use, the reviews and I really like the simple design! I really wanted a modular, but did not want to pay over $200.00. This fit the bill! Had to return because the fit is a little small, pay close attention to the size recommendations! The one I received was everything Revzilla said it would be. Sep 19, 2014
Rich H: Needed a modular that I could afford. This one has great reviews, and Anthony's video demo was of course a factor. Sep 14, 2014
Denise T: Recommendations on Google. Watched video demo, and I wanted a 3/4 helmet in yellow. Sep 14, 2014

Biill S: I was undecided on a full face or an open face. I never owned a full face and if I don't like it I can use the open face. I am a big fan of scorpion's. Me and my wife took a 3 day ride last week and our helmets just didn't fit right. I ended up giving her my scorpion it fit her better than myself and needed to purchase a new lid. If the wife likes this design she will get a new lid too. We both own a scorpion x0 from 3 years ago. Jul 8, 2014

Wayne K: Haven't ridden in the last 10 years, so there's been a ton of advances in helmets. This helmet had the look and features I wanted. Was about $50 more than I wanted to pay, but I feel I'm getting my moneys worth. If it don't work out I'll let you know. Apr 2, 2014
Paul M: Good rating/review, at the right price. Mar 7, 2014
Hyland C: Chose this because I already had one like it and loved it. My wife had another helmet and wanted one like mine. She loves it. Quiet and comfortable. Feb 24, 2014
T O: I have owned this helmet in he past, needed to replace it. Was real glad I had it on at the time, it was / is a great helmet. Feb 2, 2014
James N: My emphasis was on comfort, low noise levels and visibility. After extensive online research I selected the schubert C3 Pro but it was not available, besides I find German companies to be rather arrogant. I thought an inflatable collar was a great idea to reduce wind noise Jan 3, 2014

Robert M: Wanted a flip w/ sun shield, and this had a good Web Bike World review Dec 3, 2013
Mike K: It had all the features I wanted, so far so good Nov 17, 2013
Robert F: Previous experience with Scorpion helmets Nov 1, 2013
Jenny L: The rating and the consumer satisfaction was excellent. My son also liked the quickwik mesh that can be washed and the air tech option. Ans finally because it has such a great venting system and safety rating. Aug 22, 2013
Bill S: Wanted a helmet with high visibility and this bright yellow did the job. We are always getting responses from people about how visible we are on the road. The venting is not the best, but its ok. We've rode with the helmets on 2 trips of 7000 miles and the helmet is still a little tight around the cheeks, but you get use to it after a half hour. Would buy again. Aug 14, 2013
godfrey a: i wanted a modular helmet for it's flexability in all seasons. this seemed to be the best buy with all the features i like included. I find Anthony's video reviews informative and thorough on all their equipment. I look forward to future purchases with revzilla, They are a cut above the rest of the competition. Aug 9, 2013
A shopper asked: I have a transformer style helmet from another brand. I find it to be excessively loud. It caused me to buy $60 earplugs that only help a little. Even when it is fully closed up, the wind thumping against my ears is terrible, so I don't wear it anymore.

How loud do you find the EXO900 ?

orangebanana: The wind noise around the visor attachment area is excessively loud. You need earplugs and even then it gets unbearable on long rides (8+ hours). I am going back to full face non-modular helmet. As much as I will miss the transformable aspects, the wind noise is just too much for me. If I duck completely down behind my windscreen, the noise level is wonderful, but then my back hurts after a while. If I sit normally, or even stand up completely above the wind screen, the wind noise level is just simply not bearable for me. Apr 15, 2013

MotoElvis: The Miglia is somewhat noisy--and I have glued a high density foam into the ear areas because there is a big gap at the ears where there is just the shell. Any good in-ear foam plug will make a world of difference. Try different plugs till you find a good fit.
If anti-fogging is not a concern for you, this is a good value helmet, with basic features.
If fogging is a problem, the Nolan N90, which I use most of the time, is much better because of superior ventilation and an included Pinlock lens system.

prochiro66: I have only put on about 750 miles while wearing this helmet. I do find it to be louder than my conventional full face helmet. I would also be curious as to the noise levels of other companies helmets and what can be done to bring the decibels down. I put on 650 miles in 3 days and it is not bad enough to make me stop wearing the helmet, but I do wish it was not so loud.
Good luck to you on this issue.

Deadeye47: The only sound problems I have with this helmet is some whistling at higher speeds. I have pretty sensitive ears and have never found myself uncomfortable, even on long 70 mph trips. I can't compare this helmet to a lot of other modular styles, but based on your description of your current helmet, I believe this one would be quieter. Apr 18, 2013

Kelly M: I have this helmet and find it to be pretty loud. I have speakers in it as well and with the volume full blast, I can't hear them at all. I just attributed it to the fact that it is not solid. I don't have any other solid full face helmets to compare it to though. Jan 25, 2012

Smoothbassman: I had an HJC Helmet before and this one is way quieter! The dams all the way around along with the great seals around the visor and hinges cut down the noise tremendously. Mar 14, 2012

Peebd: I rate the sound suppression as good. The noise is noticeably better than my previous 3/4 helmet but I still wear foam earplugs because I have tinnitus. Jul 17, 2012

BigCharles: There ain't no such thing as a free lunch!
The phrase popularized by Milton Friedman also applies to helmets.
You get what you pay for.
It's a good helmet remembering that the noise sensation inside helmet derived from the quality of the helmet itself added to your motorcycle aerodynamic protection.
Sometimes your head is in a turbulence zone provided by the windshield.
Sometimes no protection is better than a little protection. Find your comfort zone.
Among the modular helmets this this is good.
But there is not $ 600 bucks helmet.
I hope this helps.

A shopper asked: The video description says at 5:36 that this helmet comes "with the Peak", "not an extra purchase"
But the product description says, "Open face peak visor sold separately."
They contradict each other.
So which is it?
Does the purchase of the helmet include the Full face visor peak or not?
Sep 2, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Joseph H: The helmet is a transformer. It is full-face with visor and sun shade. The lower section of the helmet can be removed converting it to a 3/4 helmet, and the peak/small bill can be installed. That attachment comes with the purchase. You sacrifice the clear, full visor, but the sun shield is still available. Of course, you can purchase different tints for the sun shield that are easily installed. It's a great helmet. Flexible and adapatable for different riding situations and different weather. Sep 2, 2014

Kevin C: Yes, the purchase does include the "Peak Visor". It also stated this in Scorpion's description. You should not have any issue when purchasing from Revzilla. I had to exchange mine for a larger size with no problems or questions asked. I'd give them a call if you have further questions. You will get a prompt response to all your questions... Aaron B: I bought 2 of these helmets, and they both came with the peak. The only time you would use it though is if you removed the full face piece, and used it as a open face helmet. It does not fit on the helmet like a dual sport helmet. Sep 10, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Chris K: Scorpion helmets can fit on the smaller side, so be sure to check out the size chart before ordering. Also, any modular helmet will fit rather round - which is comparable to how HJC helmets fit. May 3, 2011

Wingdreamer: The Scorpion fits small. I normally use an XL, but had to go with a XXL on the Scorpion. Still seems a bit snug, but even after 3 uses, its already breaking in. Love it! Apr 2, 2013

Smoothbassman: This helmet has a narrow fit. I went from an HJC 2XL up to a Scorpion 3XL to get the same fit. Its actually a nicer fit than the HJC. Mar 14, 2012

ralford: Pretty sure they would day their anti-fog coating would obviate the need for the pinlock. Only had mine for a couple of days and 2500 miles, with unfortunately no rain... Had a pinlock on my Shoei but always seemed to have the wrong screen in place... Aug 3, 2012

Wingdreamer: no, but that design is used on the HJC modular. The good news is, because the Scorpion has an anti fog shield that actually works, you dont need the pin lock system to "add" antifog liners.. Apr 2, 2013

A shopper asked: Can I use this helmet with Cardo G4 system? Jan 23, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
BenFromUncle: Yes. The clamp will fit, Scorpion left a gap. In the helmet pictures, there's a small panel just below the wearer's left ear: just below THAT, at the rim, they've provided a gap for a Bluetooth headset's clamp. The boom might be a tad long, but you can work with that: too short would be a show-stopper. Apr 2, 2012
Reply to BenFromUncle Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Cardo G4 system will work with the Scorpion EXO-900 Transformer Helmet, however, you'll have to modify the helmets finishing ring on the bottom of the shell so the clipping mechanism fits securely. Or to avoid making any modifications you could use the surface mount. May 3, 2012

A shopper asked: The helmet was gives me a sore jaw in the closed position, I bought a large liner to see if that would help, thinking the liner would be thinner, but the problem persists. Are the cheek pieces different sizes from M/L?
My next option is to try the XL check piece and neck liner.
My question is will the XL liner/cheekpads fit the M/L shell.

paul C: The answer here is simple and I had the same problem. I did recommend that revzilla make this correction prior to selling this helmet. They RUN TWO SIZES smaller than they really are. If you wear a medium you need an extra large and so forth. Revzilla really could prevent this problem but have chosen to neglect it. They cost me for the return on the helmets and I believe it is due to their neglect to correcting this oversight. However once you do get the correct size its an awesome helmet. Feb 18, 2015

I also pull over in my car to use the cell even though I have blue tooth through my audio system in the car. Enjoy the bike for the ride and save the chatter for a safer time.
