The TURBINE is a must-have for the everyday rider looking for a premium protective summer mesh jacket.

The goal in developing the Turbine was to create a 'bomb-proof' mesh jacket. With Pro-Life armor for impact resistance, and SuperFabric on the impact areas, the Turbine Jacket is the choice for those wanting the breathability of a lightweight summer mesh jacket, but who in the past have been nervous about the protective qualities of mesh

If you are thinking about a vented jacket I love this jacket. I can wear it on a super hot day and feel extremely comfortable. In fact I had to buy a liner jacket at ems for the times it gets below 70 degree's. This is not a cool weather jacket by any stretch. I tried on other jackets before getting this one and this is by far the most comfortable jacket that I have tried. I know it is not cheap but it is well worth the money. The folks at revzilla were super helpful in the order process. My husband liked the look and features of mine so much he ordered one also. I think the rev it line could make it more stylish for women but the function of the jacket is nice. I ordered the silver one.

Initially I bought the Turbine in a size 52 based on the sizing guide. I returned it for a size 50 that fits very well. The week after purchase I went on a five day/24k trip around lake Superior with this as my main jacket. The first day was 11 hrs with temps in the 90's all day, it was very comfortable and flowed air great. The remainder of the trip was high 80's for afternoon highs with morning temps in the mid-60's/low 70's. I wore a light windshell or fleece sweater underneath for morning travel. The jacket performed perfectly and was very comfortable for all day riding over a wide range of summer temps. The armor is reassuring yet not restrictive fit wise. I bought this jacket over the Tornado even though that jacket comes with a removable liner. I'm very pleased with the Turbine.

I ride in extremely hot weather, and after having a Joe Rocket Phoenix wear out in 6 months, I decided to get better quality hot weather gear. This fits the bill. Build quality is amazing, and I'm really surprised at the protective features as well. The jacket really feels both cool and bomb proof, and I didn't think that was possible. The size chart was dead on - just remember that the waist measurements are around your belly button at the thickest part and not your jeans waist size. The color is much more silver/gray than the photos show - a bit darker, and the black highlighs on the jacket actually work well with black or gray/silver pants. Value is actually there despite the really high price - you get a top quality jacket, probably the best mesh jacket on the market.

I've been riding around town in this jacket for a little over a week, and I have to say I'm quite impressed with the jacket so far. Here in Austin, Texas there are only two degrees of climate. Hot.... and really F*cking HOTTT!! Summers here are complete scorchers. We had 68 consecutive days with temperatures 100 degrees or more in 2009. For the past few summers, I've had my perforated leather jacket, and I would arrive to my destination a sweaty disgusting mess. Not anymore. This jacket doesn't completely beat the summer heat, but it does make it more bearable. I was expecting a little more air flow, but it does the trick. I usually find myself complaining about the lack of air flow during afternoon rides when temperatures are at their hottest(high 90's to 100+) and the air feels stale. You really feel the air flow at it's best in lower temps around 80 to 90 degrees. The construction is spot on and I feel very safe in this jacket. The pro life armor feels great... not too bulky or heavy. I also upgraded to the sas-tec back protector. I will say it does get a little warm on the back at times, but it's a small price to pay for peace of mind. It's also a very sharp looking jacket. I opted for the titanium color scheme and I was really surprised at how great it looks. If I had to complain about anything, it would be the lack of zippers at the cuff. Not a huge fan of the velcro. I wish they had gone the route of the Tarmac Air jacket with the zippers and snaps at the cuff, but that's just my personal preference. Also, the sizing does run a little large with this jacket. I took some advice from one of the reviews and got a size smaller than usual. I'm usually a 54, and the Rev' IT sizing scale said I was a 54, but I took a gamble and ordered the 52 with the review in mind and my fingers crossed. The 52 fits me really well. A 54 would have been far too roomy in the shoulders and waist. I'm 6'4 , 215 lbs ... kind of a lanky build. I really can't express how pleased I am with this jacket. It hits on all the marks I wanted in a jacket. Great protection, Adequate air flow, and it's stylish.

Got as an alternative to my Aerostich for warm weather, short runs. Doesn't offer too much protection other than the padding, but that is the intent of the jacket. I usually wear a "long" size and this standard length fit fine.

RevZilla Customer Service provided great assistance in getting the size correct and shipping in time for my US visit. The jacket is highest quality and has great engineering in fit and function. A couple more inside pockets would be great, but otherwise it exceeds expectations. Maximum airflow is awesome for here in the UAE.

From GREAT FALLS, VA
This jacket is everything I was looking for -- lightweight with body armor included. I did upgrade to a SAS-TEC Back Protector. What I like best about this jacket is the fit -- I am 5' 10 1/2" and 200 lbs -- wide shoulders and stocky build. Most performance jackets (Euro fit) just don't fit me. This one (a size 58) fits as it it were hand tailored. The side adjustments at the waist permit you to cinch it in at the bottom as loose or as tight as you want. Quality is also over the top. Not inexpensive but worth the cost.
Pros Comfortable, Rugged, Fashionable
Yes, I recommend this product.

Love this Jacket, Light & cool but you still feel protected. I use my sas tec back protector in it so it runs a little warmer than with the perforated foam that comes with it. But I would rather be protected so I do get a warm back which is pretty much unavoidable but I feel much safer. Did a ride last weekend in about 30 to 32 degrees C & even in traffic was comfortable the whole time. Fit is good but all Revzilla Jackets are on the small side I am 190cm tall & 94 kg & the 56 fits well. It is a little shortish in length which is fine for a summer jacket.

How does the airflow compare on the Airwave, Turbine, and Ignition 2? I know there are a lot of differences in the level of protection, but I am curious if I am trying to wear it 90 degree and up if there is much difference in these jackets.

Answer:
The Turbine and the Ignition 2 both use Dynax mesh by Schoeller, which offers good airflow and is the highest abrasion-resistant mesh on the market. The leather in the Ignition will flow less air in hot temps than the textile used in the Turbine jacket, so the Turbine wins. The Airwave is a new for 2012 product that has not yet been released by REV'IT! so there is no practical application review of it's airflow just yet, but I would imagine it will be equivalent to the REV'IT! Air jacket with it's large panels of airmesh. For max airflow, the Airwave wins, for max protection, the Ignition 2 wins, the Turbine offers the best balance between high airflow and safety.

Answer:
I own and wear this jacket in the tropics, where there is always high humidity and high temperatures. I can confirm that it is a very comfortable jacket at high temperatures - equally comfortable as the Airwave (though I haven't worn the Ignition 2). The dynex mesh flows air very well, and the mesh panels are very well placed for good airflow. The level of protection on this jacket so far exceeds a typical mesh jacket with superfabric panels instead of lower grade cordura, use of dynex mesh instead of polyester, high quality stitching, Prolife impact protection - you can feel cool without feeling like you are sacrificing safety. I do sweat on my back, as I upgraded the back protector with a SAS-TEC pad, and they do NOT breathe well. Stock back protector is subpar temperfoam, almost certainly for reasons of airflow in a hot weather jacket.

REV'IT! Jackets are European (slim) cut and generally more narrow in the shoulders than other brands. Please take this into account when choosing the appropriate size. Most riders with any body type other than "slim" would need to order one size larger than they typically might wear in other brands, if you are in between sizes, we recommend erring on the larger side. If you have any questions about REV'IT! sizing please call 877-792-9455 for help.

How To Measure REV'IT! Jacket Size

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements.  REV'IT! sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
