I have been looking for a jacket that would do it all and needed a solid three season jacket that could also do duty in the cold of central Oregon. Unlike our bretheren on the west side of the Cascade Mountains, central Oregon has a winter season that gets underway in early November and can last well into May. I liked the idea of a jacket with 3 layers and could provide good protection too. Lots of pockets for storing small items on the go, but don't plan to access them unless you pull over... the combination of small zipper pulls and snaps are just to difficult with cold weather gloves. However, they are roomy and plentiful. I've already ridden in temps down into the 20's and with a base layer against my skin, the three layer jacket is plenty warm. Haven't really had it in much rain as yet. The adjustable collar is great and the cuffs seem just right for running gloves over or under. Last weekend, we had a warm day, so I pulled all of the liners out and opened the vents.... this will be fine for summer riding around here. The protection seems good (I'll have to take their word for it) and I like the two separate adjustments at the waist with external adjustable velcro straps and internal draw cords. I've put about a 1000 miles on it and so far, so good!

I've had a the Cayenne Pro Jacket for about two years now and it is just not as durable as I had hoped.
My first jacket had the superfabric peel off and had a few seams unravel after 9 months of ownership, commuting 3-5 days a week. The velcro on the cuffs and along the main zipper tended to catch the sleeves and cause a fuzzy mess. It was replaced under warranty and I got another 3 months of coverage for the new jacket.
The new jacket had a few improvements, but the once "waterproof" pockets were no longer marked as such. The superfabric didn't peel, but the velcro still causes a mess and one of the front lower pockets is unraveling at the seam because some seams just aren't overlocked. The hydratex liner for the first jacket was waterproof, but the liner for the second jacket leaked from the start.
So I owned the first jacket for 9 months and the second for 13, and they always required periodic maintenance to deal with these issues. For the retail price they are asking for, I would really hope it shows less wear after a year of use.
(On the positive side, it looks pretty good, is incredibly comfortable, and very warm)

You cannot state it has waterproof pockets and then say you have never worn it in the rain! It seems very few people actually ride a bike with this jacket on, preferring to pose in the mirror admiring the fit until it is a nice day to go ponce around at the local coffee shop.
My jacket fits me very well but you should always try one on first to see if it fits you.
I recommend this jacket for fair weather riding only.
If it rains and you are wearing this jacket you will eventually get wet, then you will become very cold. Do not put valuables in the pockets unless you do not mind having them getting wet.
Outer jacket breathes very well and has good ventilation in hot weather (Australia), sleeve vents can be opened while on the bike but fiddly to close. A bit dangerous to play with the other vents while riding a speed.
In cold weather the thermal liner needs to be used in conjunction with the (non) waterproof liner to be effective.
Do not buy motorcycle clothing made in China, Your money is better spent elsewhere.
No, I do not recommend this product.

First of all I am very wary of purchasing any gear manufactured in China. RevIt does a good job of keeping the fact that their gear is made in China rather stealthy (with a very small label). I must say I am pleasantly surprised with the apparent quality of the Cayenne Pro jacket. I am a short man and fit is always an issue. At 5'-3" and 145lbs I found the small to be pretty loose fitting the sleeves especially (I think they made the sleeves to fit someone with Popeye forearms). Sleeve length was also about 2.5" too long along with the torso length. However, this does make the jacket very cool with all vents open in the warm weather. So far I have ridden in 80+ temps and felt pretty comfortable. The lack of a real back protector is kind of lame for a near $600 jacket. There are a lot of fabric panels in the construction of this jacket typically the fewer seams the better only time and wear will tell how it holds up. I really like all the pockets and the adjustable collar snap. Wish it had less Velcro.
If a well known American made brand had more venting I probably would have purchased theirs instead so that I could get a more tailored fit. But the RevIt was a good choice for my use mainly in hot and dry California.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I have had the jacket and the matching pants now for about a year. I ride a cruiser 100 miles a day in all weather ranging from sub-freezing to hot and in the rain. So here are my comments:
Both jacket and pants are REALLY comfortable. I got the pants a little big so I could wear work cloths underneith. With the liner in, I'm not sure I could get anything smaller on even without cloths. But both the pants and the jacket are really, really comfortable. The jacket is very windproof and with the liner is very warm. I spend an hour each way in Northern California weather and I have never had to wear anything more than a short sleeved shirt -- and I've never been the slightest bit cold. The cuffs sinch down so no air gets up your sleeve, but they velcro out wide so you can get your gloves up into your sleeves easily. I have the orange color and I get complements all the time. During the warmer weather I leave the liner un-zipped so I have the option of wearing it or not. There are little things that make this a high quality item... like the zipper that operates with your left hand. I thought the jacket was a women's jack until one day I wanted to unzip it while I was riding. then I realized why the zipper was operated with the left hand. If there is one downside to the jacket is is probably with the collar. You have to remember to snap the color closed before you take off because you will never get it snapped while you are riding if you have gloves on. I am always forgetting to snap it after I gas up, and I have to pull off the road to snap it. Also, I think they could have figures something a little better out for that collar piece, rather than looping it back on itself. My chin strap is always hooking the loop. other than that, it is a great jack. Now for the pants, I give them very high marks except for their ability to keep the rain off my crotch. But we all know that's where things go wrong in the rain. The water hits your chest and rolls down onto your crotch. To test the waterproof membrane I wore a pair of blue surgical scrubs under the pants on my way home in the rain. The scrubs really show up any leaks. For the money, that membrane should have worked perfectly. It didn't. It leaked. With a less-expensive item, you might expect a leak here or there, but this item is so expensive I cannot recommend it because it leaks. You can buy warm, comfortable suits for a lot less... it's the waterproofing when you need it feature that has to come through... and didn't. I suppose I would highly recommend it as long as you don't ever ride in the rain.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I purchased this jacket along with the Cayenne Pro Pants and just love it! The european fit is great, the fact that it is not crinkly is wonderful and the features can't be beat. After 35 years of wearing leather (Harley die hard) I started wearing textile products due to their waterproofing and ability to vent. After purchasing an R1200GS I started to look for a good dual purpose suite to wear on either bike. The BMW products and Held products caught my eye but the price was prohibitive. I discovered REV'IT in my research and decided to give it a try. A 15% off sale was a motivating factor too. The decision to spend the money was a little easier with the discount and when the product arrived I knew it was money well spent. You definitely get what you pay for! Great fit, great function and quality components. Very happy.

Like everything about it except the cuffs; designed for airflow, but in cold weather it's difficult to stop air penetration. Might need gloves with large gauntlet.

So looking to see if the new cayanne pants will work with this older jacket.
Do you sell the treatment spray to keep the waterproofing on the outer shell fresh?

Thank you very much!

I've had great luck joining my older (3+ years old) Rev'It gear to newer items. The zippers match up fine. I use the NikWax treatment to freshen the DWR properties of all my outdoor gear (both cycle and ski clothing.) Works like a charm!

Answer:
Yes, the older version will attach without an issue. The outer shell isn't really waterproof as that feature exists in the removable liner.

REV'IT! Jackets are European (slim) cut and generally more narrow in the shoulders than other brands. Please take this into account when choosing the appropriate size. Most riders with any body type other than "slim" would need to order one size larger than they typically might wear in other brands, if you are in between sizes, we recommend erring on the larger side. If you have any questions about REV'IT! sizing please call 877-792-9455 for help.

How To Measure REV'IT! Jacket Size

How To Measure REV'IT! Pants Size

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements.  REV'IT! sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
