REV'IT! Cayenne Pro Jacket

Two years and going strong

After two years and over 12,000 miles I am very happy with the Cayenne Pro jacket and pants. The jacket flows enough air to be comfortable at 100 degrees at freeway speeds (Arizona) and warm enough with liners at freezing (Colorado). My Rev'it gear was the envy of my two riding buddies who will be getting theirs when they can spring the extra cash. Luckily for me, I've never given the waterproof liner a work out in a real rain but its breathable enough to wear up to 70 degrees. Lots of pockets and very well made. The only two problems I've had was the loop that hold the collar open worn out but was easily replaced and a sharp edge on my boot wore through the waterproof liner inside my pants (my fault, not Rev'It!'s) but Rev'It was nice enough to send me another liner immediately. Great customer service! Every now and then I'll flip through the Rev'It catalog daydreaming of the next outfit to get (mesh jacket most likely).

Excellent jacket

Just finished a 2000 mile trip from Shreveport, LA to Brooks AB. Temps ranged from 40F to 94F. Additional clothing was needed at the lower temp and it was hot at the upper temp. A little water cooling was needed here. But we are getting into extremes.

Overall, the jacket is excellent. It functioned well, is rugged, and is quite stylish. It's spendy, but worth it. Highly recomended.

Several marks shy of greatness

First for the pros. This jacket will keep you warm to about 35 or so degrees. It still depends on your level of tolerance but it does the job. The liner is warm yet thin. The jacket is stylish and well cut for someone who is on the leaner side. The armor is flexible, comfortable, and feels rock solid. There are plenty of pockets and it vents very well. I've also ridden through about 1.5 hours of constant soaking rain and came out on the rather dry end.

Now the cons. The elastic hook on the collar tab is not going to stay for very long. Mine basically tore off. The adjustable collar also looks like it could be next. If you play around too much with the velcro around the sleeves there is a tendency for the cordura to fray. The back stitching on the jacket will also come loose. The pockets that they claim are waterproof are not really waterproof. Water resistant - yes; waterproof - no. I placed some papers in one of those pockets and it came out sopping wet. Also realize that you are paying nearly $600 for the jacket and getting a piece of foam for a back protector.

Overall: It's not the greatest buy in the world but chances are you probably won't be disappointed.

Its a very rugged and very well finished Jacket.
It fits true to size and is confortable and beautiful.
I want to get on a long trip as soon as possible.

Warm and comfortable

Just rode from Phoenix to calgary - was 90C in phoenix and with t shirt and shorts and vents open was comfortable - would have cooked in joe rocket. IN Montana and Alberta wore long underwear and a very light sweater and both rain and thermal liners in jacket but no liners in pants and comfortable enough i didn't' stop and put on my heated vest. Fits well, looks good and works well - though no crash so no ultimate test
Sizing - i tried on at a store B4 ordering and good thing. All my Joe rocket stuff was large - which is the same as most everything else i get - large Revit too small but XL is just right

Looks like a mini skirt

The jacket bunches up a little at the bottom on a sport bike. From behind the white bottom looks like a bulging mini skirt. If you ditch the back pocket that effect would be reduced.

Happy with the Cayenne Pro

I'm 6'5" and 220 pds and usually between XL and XXL, the cayenne pro jacket I ordered as a 3XL and it fits snug around the shoulders and chest, quite a bit loose around the waist but the bungy pull strings at the bottom end pull it tight enough. very good arm length and not too wide in the arms. good materials and well made. looks sharp. overall good product for an ok price.
will ride it in rain, heat, cold and dry and only then can i tell the real value of it.

Best Gear purchase.

I have owned the Cayenne Pro for @6 months and I am truely impressed with the versatility and quality. One week after purchase I left for a 2500 mile trip that would range in temps from low 30's to 70+. Not having any experience with the gear, I rolled the dice and left with a base layer and the Cayenne Pro and Olympia Ranger pants. Not only did this jacket provide excellant protection but it supplied more than enough warmth that I never needed more than the base layer.
The only problem that I ran into was I waited too long to remove the thermal liner one day while riding, and was almost unable to remove the jacket.The reason being that the day started out at @40 degrees and than reached 60 within a few hours and I was being stuborn about stopping so that I would reach my destination earlier than expected. Needless to say that I almost melted and the sweat created a "glue effect" and I had to peel the jacket off. I have found that the jacket and water-proof liner are comfortable down to mid 50's. The thermal liner is incredable.
I have only experienced temps up to mid 70's and jacket alone seems to flow a fair amount of air. I dont know if I will be able to tolerate the Pro in our eastcoast summers and will probably be looking into the Turbine jacket at that point.
To summarize, the Cayenne Pro is a fantastic three season jacket and possibly four. I have owned many full featured riding gear but this has been the most complete jacket to date. I highly recommend it.

Your next jacket

The Cayenne Pro Jacket is a truely remarkable jacket. As a person that has been a customer of other more well known motorcycle apparel companies I was hesistant to buy one from a company I hadnt heard of.

With Rev'zilla's excellent video reviews I was ready to take the plunge.

Since I have had the jacket it has literally rained every single day. The waterproof liner works miracles. It works flawlessly. The only draw back is that is you are commuting through the city and run into a red light, the jacket's waterproof liner will have accumlater some water on the outside. The water will wick off and roll down the sleeve and into your gloves.

Another issue is that collar's adjustable rivett can be clunky and hard to move. It might be an isolated problem with my jacket, but a very minor issue.

If you are in the market, be sure to give Rev'it an honest look. And be sure to buy it from Revzilla. These guys customer service is the best I've ever dealt with hands down.

Amazing Jacket

Amazing jacket for all seasons (barring the EXTREME hot and/or cold). So nice having the options to remove the liners (both the thick, down-like winter liner and the waterproof) and mix n' match based on the current weather. Easy to see how the liners zip in after a time or two swapping them. Multitude of well engineered vents allows for even more tweaking when the temps climb.

Fitment is wonderful, but typical of RevIt's European heritage. I typically wear size L t-shirts, jackets and sweats, but wear an XL in this jacket. I am 6'1", and 200 lbs (athletic). Cuffs are very large, so fitting over big gauntlet gloves should be no problem.

TONS of pockets and storage, the two fronts being waterproof. Speaking of waterproof, this jacket kept me bone dry in over an hour of hard rain last week. The waterproof liner does have a slight tendency to make me sweat somewhat, but nothing horrible. The front zipper system and drawstrings at the bottom are very well designed.

I had the chance to test out the "down-like" liner when temps got in the mid/high 40s F. I was real toasty and didn't even have to raise up my windscreen. I especially like the tall collar, which helps protect both wind and rain from running off of your helmet and down your back/chest.

The final touch is an increase in the reflective strips over my previous RevIt jacket. I also added the SAStech back pad to top it all off (the rest of the SAS tech armor in the elbows/shoulders fit nicely and is awesome protection).

You can't go wrong with this jacket when you want the best for tackling all that mother nature has to throw at you!
