This is my go to jacket here in sunny Florida. It airflows well, but best of all is its body armour. He jacket is designed so your elbow, and shoulder pads are fixed in place, not kinda sorta held in place by snaps, velcro, straps...nofloating pads. This fall i upgraded the jacket with the knox2 armour.
I wear this jacket eight months out of the year, rain or shine. I ride a naked bike so i need a little more warmth for the winter. Now have three years and 30,000+ miles on it, and would definately buy another.

I have only had this for a few weeks and had worn it about a dozen times. Worn in temps up to the low 80's. Air flow is good even at low speeds. The style is great, however the fit is very small in some areas. I'm 6-2" 215 lbs and not overly buff. I ordered the 2XL size. Fits good except for the shoulder and upper arm area which are pretty tight. I didn't think it would be a problem at first until I went on some extended rides. I found that I had to push and pull areas around the shoulders to relieve pinching that was cutting off some blood flow to the arms. I sit upright on a Harley Roadglide Ultra. I'm not sure if a 3XL would have been better since the sleeve length and waist area on the 2XL is more than adequate. I would suggest starting by ordering 2 sizes more than your usual.

At this lower price range, I wasn't expecting much, but this was my first textile jacket and it's great. The fit is spot on (6'1" 180 lbs, Large) The jacket moves tons of air at speed, and from my limited experience, the protection is great.
The thing that really blew me away is the look - I got the grey with red stripes on the upper arms and while I initally wanted black (but decided on the lighter color due to the heat factor) - and now I can't believe I wanted a dark jacket. It looks great and I get tons of compliments.
It's definitely a summer jacket, you really have to layer if you want to wear it on cool mornings in the spring/fall, but again, for this price, I couldn't be happier.

I bought this jacket as a supplemental jacket - one that was cooler than others I have. However, it quickly became my jacket of choice. I love it! It's comfortable and hangs just right. It gets trendous air. Most perforated jackets get good ventilation while riding, however this jacket is comfortable on hot days even when standing still. It's stylish and fits very well. The only disadvantage is that it doesn't have the protection of heavily armored jackets. But hey, if on a 95 degree day, the choices are heavily armored jacket that's sweltering, a t-shirt with no protection or the Revit Air, I'm picking Revit Air all day!

I'm a 40R and I bought this jacket as XL. Fits great - not too tight, not too loose. Overall good design: fit, flexibility, pockets, armor, airflow. Nice look as well. Only issue is the back armor, which is foam but should be stronger.

An awesome summer jacket. It provides excellent air cooling/venting which was my primary reason in purchasing this product. The fit and style is perfect for my physique. The materials used looks tough but comfortable and it gives me a sense of protection because of quality craftsmanship. This jacket should last me many years of normal use.
It would have been better if it had a little more reflective materials for night riding.
I will definitely purchase other REV-IT products. Awesome product matched by great customer service.

I'm afraid I haven't had as much time to test this jacket as I would like, but I don't doubt that it breathes about as well as a motorcycle jacket could. As others have mentioned, it runs small. Also, the armor could be described as "minimalistic." But if you already have a jacket for cooler weather, this could be a great addition for days that would otherwise be too hot for riding.

Answer:
The REV'IT! Air jacket will provide superior protection over the Joe Rocket Phoenix Jacket. The REV'IT! Air jacket uses CE approved Knox Armor and their Engineered Skin design concept to relocate seams off impact places, such as shoulders and elbows.

Answer:
The official washing instructions say no, and REV'IT recommends hand wash and hand dry. I've known of others who have ignored this, taking out pads and machine washing on gentle, in a front loading washer, with a bit of Simple Green without apparent consequence. With those modifications making the washing more gentle (front loader, gentle detergent, gentle cycle), it'd probably be okay. Even so, I doubt REV'IT has any motive for advising hand wash other than the protection of your gear, and suspect they do so with some knowledge of long term negative impact on the gear. Good luck.

I received my Rev'it Air, and the Large was a bit tight. I ordered the XL and it fit better. I noticed the shoulder armor on both jackets covers more of the deltoid area and actually very little of the top of the shoulder. I watched the YouTube video on the jacket and the fit seems to be the same on the model. The armor is below the seam which rests on the corner of his shoulder, giving him protection mostly over the arm. Is this how shoulder armor should fit?

It's correct.
Most of impact injuries hits the top part of the arms than the collarbone. When it brokes the fracture was caused by indirect impact.

Answer:
So I bought the Rev'it Air a few months ago, and I noticed the exact same thing. And after being in a motorcycle accident with the Air on I think I can answer this question pretty well:
Yeah, that's exactly how it should fit.
Why? Well for me because when I went down I went down on my side. You're not likely to go top-of-the-shoulder-first into something. That's when you hit your helmet. *mostly* crashes are going to be on your side. And the Air's shoulder armor was perfect for that. I slid about 100 feet or so and it held up fantastically.
Now I will admit that the shoulder armor should have a small "lip" on the top that goes up over your shoulder, but not by much. But in general they knew what they were doing when they placed the shoulder armor there.

Answer:
Think about the fall. When you fall from a motorcycle the impact on your shoulder is not going to be from above, it's going to be from the side. The primary purpose of the shoulder armor is to protect the ends of the collarbone and the joint with your humerus from a side impact. Also there's a decent chance that that side-impact may be coming in at such an angle that the sleeve is pushed upwards upon impact, so extra length down the arm means that there will still be padding even if it shifts upwards a smidge before the bones impact. If you fall so that the sleeve is pulled downwards the fabric over the shoulders will keep it from shifting downwards.

Find the tip of your clavicle (collar bone) then go back towards your neck about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. This is roughly where the edge of your armor should be. I double checked this on our BMW and Rev'It air jackets.

Hi. Regarding arm and torso length, is there any difference b/t Large and XL? I'm just shy of 6'3'', 185lbs, 37" chest, 33 -34 waste as per your fitting charts. My concern is mostly arm length, then torso length, in a proper fit around my body. Other vented jackets that fit in the length are WAY too big around (ie, i'm swimming in them).

AND: to upgrade to the Sas-Tech back armor, which size do you recommend for L or XL jacket?

thanks

Hello,

I am 5'11 and ordered an XL it fits great but of it was any smaller I wouldnt be comfortable. A large would def me to small for you. You might want to think of a 2XL these jackets are cut really small. They must have lots of little guys in europe. With extra armor in the back a XL may be to small.

Answer:
eanth,
yes there is a difference between sleeve length; the XL is longer. I measured my LG AIR jacket and the sleeve length is 27" from the seam to the end; my arm from the shoulder to the base of my hand is 23 1/2". In my opinion the jacket fits just right, in the XL the sleeve came half-way over my hand which I didn't care for. In the riding position it's just right; check my jacket review I just posted. I can't answer your armor question as I'll just keep the foam pad for now. I would suggest you call customer service as they really help me with sizing.

Answer:
Hola,

There is indeed some difference in the torso length between a large and an extra large. It's not very much though, basically just enough to account for being larger. I'm not an expert (you may want to actually talk to the people who work here) but I think it's worse to have a jacket that's too big around than to have one that's an inch or so shorter.

Arm length is longer in Rev'it jackets by design, so it should fit you alright. But if you could measure your arms maybe they could measure to compare? I can measure the arm lengths of my XL jacket if that would help at all. Though once again I'm just a buyer.

As far as the Sas-Tec back armor, I did the upgrade with the SC-1/12 size.

Answer:
I am 6-03 / 185 pounds and had to go with the XL which seemed to give that extra inch or so that I needed in the arm length when I compared it to the L. The chest and shoulders are good to for me in the XL compared to the L.

In the Rev'it armor & protection guide video you mentioned the different types of body armor in the Rev'it jackets/pants. Is it possible to get the SAS-TEC upgraded armor (shoulder & elbow) for the Rev'it Air jacket? I understand that some jackets come standard with that armor but really like that jacket and want to up the protection. I'm planning on getting the back protection.

Answer:
Other answers say no, which is technically true, the SAS-TEC protector isn't specifically designed for the Air. That said, it can be easily trimmed with a box knife to match the pocket of nearly any jacket. It only takes a few minutes using the existing foam pad as a template, and the manufacturer says it does nothing to the protective qualities of the protector. It will void the warranty, however . . .

Answer:
Unfortunately, REV'IT! does not offer separate armor upgrades for jackets at this time. The only way to get Sas-Tec armor (other than the back protector) is to purchase a jacket that comes standard with it.

In regards to the back protector, it isn't shaped to fit in that jacket, but many folks have had success cutting it to size so that it fits in the pocket.

REV'IT! Jackets are European (slim) cut and generally more narrow in the shoulders than other brands. Please take this into account when choosing the appropriate size. Most riders with any body type other than "slim" would need to order one size larger than they typically might wear in other brands, if you are in between sizes, we recommend erring on the larger side. If you have any questions about REV'IT! sizing please call 877-792-9455 for help.
