I was interested in the N43 as a winter helmet for my cruiser MC because with tank mounted instruments, all the other Modular helmets block my view of the instruments while riding... and the reviews seemed to be pretty good. the Revzilla price was also very good. I've only been able to use it for winter riding so far, so can't really address it as a summer/hot weather helmet at this time.
things I like about the helmet: !) vision is excellent, up and down and side to side 2) it's light and catches little to no wind 3) it's round oval shape and lining make for the most comfortable full face/Modular helmet I've ever owned and I've owned several... compare well with my Arai for fit and comfort 4)love the ratchet chin strap system, If I could, I would have this on all my helmets 5)the pinlock insert is simply phenominal... at 28degree F, I cannot make it fog up, no matter how hard I try 6) fit and finish are very good
things that could be improved: 1) it's pretty loud, you'll need earplugs or earbuds to keep the noise at bay, most of the noise comes from the chin and throat area which is wide open 2) in cold weather you will need a neck gaitor, as stated above, it's wide open down there... 3) the inner sun visor is ok, but needs to come down further to be effective, it's just to short
Over all a pretty good helmet, I'll be using this as my winter helmet on my cruiser where the visibility is great for those tank mounted instruments and there isn't so much wind and noise coming in around the wide open chin area... for my dual sport, I'll stick with a regular modular helmet which is quieter and warmer around my chin/neck area

First of all I should mention that I ride a scooter (125cc) on surface roads and never exceed 55 mph. This is my daily commuter. I purchased this helmet to replace a Icon full face helmet that was leaking air through the face shield. One of my requirements for a new helmet was a drop down sun shade (I also tried the HJC IS-16 and Exo-500). This helmet was more comfortable than the other two and felt lighter as well. The field of vision is incredible and I definitely think of this as a safety plus. I love the micro lock chin strap, I can quickly take on/off my helmet, even while wearing gloves. I bought the pinlock insert based on other reviews and installed it before my first ride. No fogging issues whatsoever, I'm definitely sold on the pinlock for future helmets as well.
The only negatives I can think of are two: It is noisier than my prior helmet, although nothing unbearable for my use. Secondly it is a bit round looking from ear to ear, I kind of feel like a Space Ball when looking in the mirror.

I impulse-bought the Trilogy from the US distributor at the MC show in Chicago in Feb 11. I should have bought it from Revzilla, I could have saved a few $ (even before it went on sale). I gave a 4 for durability because the left & right shield locks seem a bit frail (although to be fair, mine haven't given me any trouble). The shield, both the clear and dark tint, are very good with no distortion but the lack of detents is troublesome when it fogs up at slow speeds. There's a pinlock shield available, so fogging might not be an issue if you get one. I like the option of different configurations, but almost always use the helmet in the full face mode and love the wide field of view and the room I have in the chin area. I'm a fan of the micro-lock chinstrap buckle because latching and unlatching it is so fast with no fiddling around. Airflow is good in the full face configuration. I've used the helmet every time I've ridden this year on four different bikes and find it pretty loud even behind a cruiser's windshield or a sport tourer's fairing- though earplugs help quite a bit. I don't know how the helmet would do on a naked bike because my bikes all have windshields and/or fairings. Overall, if noise isn't a deal-breaker, you can't go wrong with this choice. I'm trying out a Shoei I bought here which is quieter, but I don't plan to quit using the Trilogy all together- especially in hot weather where the airflow helps a lot.

RevZilla is the greatest. These people know how to take care of you. I have purchased 2 of these helmets now as the first disappered on my girlfriend head. She loves it, the fit is excellent. Light weigth,Vision is awsome and it vents very well. The same goes for mine, I compared the two, craftsmanship is very good, finish excellent,visor is just a little bit short but not a problem. Visor tent is dark enough in bright sun light and the vision out the helmet is excellent. You will catch yourself reaching to see if you pulled the sheild down when you look down.You can see everything without having to tip you head down. Noise level is low, vents well, and doesn't buffit much in the wind. I have no windsheild. I highly recomend this helmet. You will only need this one, because it will work for every type of riding or driving you do. FWD Yuma AZ

Liking the open face helmet field of vision but wanting protection of full face this turns out to be a good compromise. Wear glasses so full face helmets were problematic. This helmet accomodates glasses very well. Tight to get on with chin guard in place but detaching chin guard on one side makes it easy to put on with glasses, and it's very easy to reattach The field of vision is outstanding. Not as quiet as I'd hoped but quieter than previous open face helmet. Fogging of shield hasn't been a big problem but will invest in pinlock anti-fog. Looks like they have addressed chin guard, lack of pinlock and more shield opening settings mentioned in other comments with the updated N43e Trilogy. All in all I like it.

I chose this helmet because of it's different configurations and for being very different than usual. I loved all it's features and found it really beautiful as in pictures. The helmet is well made, with great materials and has a excellent vision. I can even see my shoulder looking forward. The vision is so great that you drive much safer using the helmet.

The neck roll on this helmet is a bit finicky, so the clamp mount may not work as well, however, if you use the doubled sided 3M tape, it should install without a problem. As for the Contour GPS camera, there is plenty of real-estate on the right side of the helmet to do the same with a 3M panel.

Nolan tends to fit a bit snug, so if you are in-between sizes I would go with the XL. We do have this currently (4/26/11) in a silver, and if you are looking for High-Vis, check out the Motorrad color scheme.

As a photographer, I know that images on the screen are not always the same color as they appear in person. I'm wondering if the Wine Cherry color of the Nolan N43 is close to Honda Glory Red [looks like candy apple red], or the GoldWing Wineberry? I have a ST1100 in HGR. Thanks for your help.

I actually have a Honda 919 in the candy apple red and so I know that this helmet does match quite well. The only helmet that is a better color match, in my opinion, is the Shoei Multitec in wine red.

The pinloc insert from N100 will fit the N43. I think all the Nolan pinloc inserts are the same. I found a supplier at : http://www.genuineaccessories.com/NolanHelmets/nolan_n43.html

Yes, my N43 has pinlock pins on the visor. However I have been completely unable to find a pinlock insert to fit the N43. Last time I checked here, RevZilla didn't list a pinlock for the N43, nor could I find one on Nolan's web site.

The pins do come on the faceshield, but the pinlock lens is not included. Great helmet by the way! I purchased this for my wife, but ended up stealing it from her :-).
