Don't bother - Buyer beware
This is my second UV cover from Nelson-Rigg. The first one lasted nearly ten years of daily use before it finally wore out so I didn't hesitate to just order the exact same model for use on the same bike. When the new cover arrived I first noticed that it no longer had the additional layer of black material on the inside of the cover and felt much lighter weight. Sadly the new cover began to rip in less than a month. It's continued to shred and now needs replacement after less than a year of use. What a shame. Somewhere along the line NR went cheap and it shows in the product. Personally I'd gladly pay a bit more for quality.

I purchased this as a rain/dew cover for an upcoming week long trip. I ordered an XL for a 2012 Multistrada with top case and side cases. Goes over the top case and windshield fine. Haven't had the side cases on yet but it looks like it will cover the tops of them with me running a bungee underneath to hold in place. If it doesn't go over the cases its not a deal breaker for me, I was more interested in covering seat and cockpit area. It has some built in straps including a couple that loop over the foot pegs. It packs up small in its own bag. Don't think its heavy enough for year round use, but perfect for occasional use.

Multistrada 1200 S
What do you want from a cover? Coverage! This cover does a perfect job of fully covering my Multistrada 1200 S with top case attached without being too floppy. Velcro ties could be used in breezy conditions, but I'm content to use the cover to keep the dust off when the Multi sits in my garage.

Does the job twice over.
My Nelson-Rigg XL UV-2000 covers my two Hondas well, my CBR1100XX and my ST1100. Otherwise garaged, they're perfectly covered on the road.

This is great fro summer or for trips
Great protection for the sun and rain, although the bottom part is unprotected. It comes in very handy for road trips, used when we rode to Canada last year from DC.

performed great
I have used this item about ten times. It didn't take must room while on trips. Unlike my full MC cover. It kept the morning dew/rain off of my seat and the passenger's.

Very good value
This is a great cover if you like to travel but have limited space. I bought an XL and it was plenty big for my Triumph Tiger, even with a top case and custom windscreen. It packs down easily into a fanny pack it came with. It's rated as being waterproof. Hard to go wrong for the money.

Great cover
Great item... I think they run one size small, but I have a windshield and a box on the back of my bike. With none of those it runs true to size.

I previously owned one of these covers and I use it when I tour and stay in campsites. I own a BMW 1150-GS and it will fit over the top of the bike and slip over the tops of my Tourtech panniers. It folds up small for packing which is important when I am traveling 2-Up with all of our camping gear, and it is waterproof.

It works great on my 2015 R1200GSAw. Covering a bike seems to keep curious people from plucking things off the bike when I am not watching.

Michael M on Jul 10, 2014
This cover was chosen because of reading a number of feedbacks on the item. I have a full cover (different brand) and it is a real PITA trying to deal with it on the road. I hope to find a way to fasten this to the tail of the bike in some sort of rolled up permanent fashion that will allow the cover to be deployed and cover the bike in a few seconds and then just as easily rolled back up and tucked away in a pouch. That way it will always be with bike and easily used whenever needed.

A C on Oct 6, 2016
it comes in 3 sizes and you don't explain the sizes??
A shopper on Aug 4, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Check out the size chart. A sport bike under 750cc is a Medium and that is what I purchased for my FZ6. While seemingly a little tight at first, it loosened up and works perfectly for me.
How small does this pack down to? Give me an approximate reference like - the size of a water bottle or a hard-backed book :-) If I ordered the L, would it fit in my tank bag?
A shopper on May 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The Half Cover packs down more like a hard-backed book. It probably would not fit in a tank bag, unless you have a LARGE one. I pack mine in a Ziplock plastic bag, squeeze all of the air, and close the top. That way it is legal-paper sized but almost flat. I then carry it in my top box and it takes up very little space. Just a thought. Good luck.
Any idea what size my Iron 883 needs?
Franklin C on Mar 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I bought the cover for my wife's F800ST BMW and the cover is a touch big for it but that's a good thing. I would think this would cover an 883 Iron with room to spare and that is preferable to too small. The cover is well made and has held up well.
Another size/fitting question :)
- recommended size for 2001 K1200RS with stock panniers and 45l Givi top case?
A S on Nov 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I purchased a size large for my 2010 F800R and my bike has SW Motech Blaze Saddlebags (no top case) and the cover fits perfectly.

I would recommend that for your ride, at a minimum you would need the XL. It's going to be a very snug fit with the top case...
Will the extra large UV 2000 half cover fit a BMW 2014 R1200RT?
Jeffrey K on Oct 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Bought a large for my 04 Honda Shadow Aero 750. I have windshield and saddle bags and is 8'4" from tip of front tire to the tip of the taillight. Is a great fit, but can't answer for your motorcycle. Hope this helps. Good luck.
What about fitment on tour packs with antennas? Does it come with slits or holes? Or would I have to cut my own?
A shopper on Jul 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, there are no slits or holes in this cover. Nice cover though.
?? Re: Nelson-Rigg UV-2000 Half Cover. Please indicate to me which size is best for my 1998 BMW R1200C w/side bags (panniers).
Carlos L on May 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Carlos, the biggest one you can get. I have a 2011 R1200 RT with a top box. I bought the largest half-cover available. It fits, but just barely. It will cover your top box, but will only sit on the top of your panniers. Nice half-cover though! Hope that helps. William M.
Is this the extra large size?
A shopper on Sep 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I ride a BMW K1600 GTL which has side and top cases as well as a front fairing and windshield. The cover fits over fine.
I have a general question about half covers. Will I not need to worry about waiting for the engine to cool in before putting it on my motorcycle?
A shopper on Jun 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Like any cover, just keep it away from the pipes while hot, if you're really careful and your pipes are low cruiser style you should be fine. If I'm using it on my Tiger 800, I wait a bit before putting it on.
Will it fit a 2009 BMW K1200GT?
A shopper on Sep 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This cover fits my 2015 FJR perfectly. I assume that the BMW is close to the same size.
