Nelson-Rigg SR-6000 Stormrider Rain Suit 4.4 5 72 72
Works as advertized XL rain suit fits over my XL riding gear, keeps water out. Not much else to say. November 23, 2015
Nice Christmas Gift I bought these for my dad for Christmas. We have been through several sets of cheap rain suits such as frog togs, which do not last very well. These are well packaged and they look alot more durable. November 23, 2015
Works as advertised 4 days of constant rain, I stayed dry. Easy to get on and off in a hurry. Stirrups work great, and seem to be holding up. Totally satisfied with the rain gear. October 12, 2015
Mine last 20 times the inner waterproof membrane began to crack and this allows water to pass. I've put patches but cracks elsewhere. The zipper of the pants are a little complicated because they are locked with the fabric. September 21, 2015
great product for the many excellent work for me highly recommended very nice September 14, 2015
Keeps you dry I just bought this rainsuit before my first trip, hoping I wouldn't need it. Turns out I wore it every day of my trip but one. The jacket and pants kept me dry from the rain. At 6'5", 230 lbs, I was expecting poor fitment. I ordered an XXL and it fits pretty good over my normal jacket. The 2 items I didn't like about it were the front collar, it seemed to have the scratchy side of the velcro touching my neck somehow. And the cuff on the sleeves. I wish it had some strap that I could velcro a little tighter on the cuffs instead of just having 2 pieces of velcro that I fold on to each other. It made it hard to stuff the cuff of the sleeve into my gauntlet gloves and if riding without the gauntlet gloves the cuffs scooped up enough air to blow up my jacket like a balloon. Zippers need to operated like a Tent door flap. Be careful not to catch the fabric in the zipper! Jacket is tougher than a bird. I took a bird in the right bicep and no damage to the jacket. Did it keep me dry? Yes. Was it affordable? Yes. Was it comfortable? Mostly yes. I will wear it again and would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable rainsuit. September 1, 2015
Hard to complain at this price... Yeah so for the price this is a good pierce of occasional use gear. The biggest gripe for me is the zippers are small and fussy. I'm typically putting this stuff on on the side of the road in 90+ heat with a thunder storm barreling down on me and it is very annoying to have to fight with the leg zippers and the jacket. I will say it didn't leak so it does the job , I use them a lot so the zipper thing is really chafing me. August 18, 2015
Great for cold rains and evenings Great for its price, it protects well and is made of thick PVC, which doesn't let rain soak through. It's visibility is also a great plus, and the way the Velcro closures seal everything out make it virtually impregnable. Storage is also great when you want to abandon access to everything you need on hand because of a rainstorm. Cons: the PVC is low breathability, so summer showers aren't this jacket's thing. It's also hard to pull the velcro enclosures apart, unzip it, and get it on, so you really need to plan ahead and start with it on or find an overpass to change under. Summary: great jacket for the price to wear out in the spring or fall. Don't expect to get it on in the middle of a downpour, though. August 17, 2015

Dale S: I needed something to deal with the rain. This product works great at keeping the rain out, although I still end up wet from perspiration as I live in a warm climate. The zippers on the pants are a little troublesome as they are small and sometimes catch the material in the zipper. However the pants is well made and the seams have held up well thus far. I also like the colors that make me more visible to drivers. Overall I am happy with my purchase. Sep 10, 2015

A shopper asked: What kind of pants front zipper is it. ? Velcro or nylon zipper ? Aug 12, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Robin B: Neither. They are simply an elastic waist (with drawstring), just like a pair of sweatpants. Please note that I found these pants to NOT stop any rain from seeping through. Jacket works fine, but my thighs were soaked after a light rain commute of 5 miles. Aug 13, 2013
Reply to Robin Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
David H: Neither. There is no opening in the pants front. The pants have an elastic waistband that is just pulled on. Zippered gussets are at the bottom on the legs to make it easier to put on and off with boots on. Aug 13, 2013
Reply to David Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Michael T: The pants don't have any kind of front opening, just an elastic waistband. At the leg openings you do have zippers to help get the pant cuffs over your shoes. Aug 13, 2013

A shopper asked: How much space does this take when packed in a saddle bag? Apr 13, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Sergio S: Almost nothing. I would always have mine on my top case. The pants are about the size of one of those portable mini umbrellas when rolled up, the jacket about as much as a regular (compressed and neatly fold) sweater or less. Apr 13, 2015
Reply to Sergio Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Olaf K: It's fairly compact. I'm able to roll it up pretty tight, about the size of a large burrito. Apr 13, 2015

Jeffrey B: I can squeeze it down into a roll that is 6" in diameter and 12" long. Apr 16, 2015

A shopper asked: Are they heat resistant? Will the pants melt if they come into contact with pipes ect. Sep 7, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Kevin B. F: Sorry for the late reply. Yes they are heat resistant. They might shrivel a bit or kind of crumple if they come in contact with you exhaust pipe, but ive had no problems. You will also be wearing this when there is water around so things wont be as hot. I personaly have had no issues with it melting.
Sep 11, 2015
Reply to Kevin B. Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Justin R: They are not rated as heat resistant and based on the material it would likely melt. I would avoid doing that if at all possible especially because once this material melts it does not come off. Oct 11, 2015
Reply to Justin Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Ronald S: They do withstand heat nearby but if in direct contact with hot pipe they will start melting although not that badly as an ordinary plastic bag. I hope it helps! ! Sep 7, 2015

A shopper asked: How much space does the suit take-up when packed in a saddle bag? Apr 13, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David H: It will fold up real small, maybe a couple inches on the bottom of a saddle bag. I keep mine in a 6 pack soft cooler & keep it with me while I mow the golf course fairways. I just hang it over the back of my seat. I even keep mowing while it is raining as I have yet to get wet. Apr 13, 2015

TOMASZ J: Not much. You can roll it up and it will take no more than two roll up tshirts Apr 13, 2015

A shopper asked: How is the fit of worn over riding gear? do I need to order one size bigger or is it sized to be worn over my exisiting gear. I wear a large Firstgear rush mesh jacket. Jan 19, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
thomas w: The literature produced by Firstgear usually states to order the size you normally wear, since they have sized-up the product for you. I have their overpants and they fit great. Jan 29, 2014

Phillip T: yes size larger. Be able to close the flap on the top around your neck other wise you will have to cut it off as I had to Feb 4, 2014
