I wanted to be able to carry stuff on my VFR without spending a grand on luggage. So I got these bags, and they are really well made. I added a modification to make sure the bags never touch the mufflers, and now I can carry a lot of stuff safely. The workmanship is very good, the size quite adequate, and the velcro straps very sturdy, and the small adjustable straps that hold the bottoms of the bags on the bodywork are added security. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the system. Since I just got them I can't say anything about durability, but the impression they give, with materials and workmanship, is that they will be quite durable.

I had a pair of these on my VTX 1300 and they are so faded that I am embarrassed to use them any more. They started fading soon after I got them and went downhill fast. I did not leave them in the sunlight for long periods of time since they are only clipped onto they bike and would be easy to carry off by somebody. They are now a grey/purple color in most places with a darker patch here and there. Nelson Riggs reply when I contacted them about their "Lifetime" warranty - spray paint them with a fabric spray. They are inexpensive bags with tons of room, but don't expect them to be black for long.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Tough, rugged, but how does it fit a supersport?

The picture lies! I have a R6s and have done pipe mods to the point where there is no buffer zone between the bags and my rear wheel. Consequently, some of the foam rubber backing on the bags have worn off. Not to worry: tighten the loading straps et al tight and there is little worry.
The "pre-form" inserts haven't yet got the idea they are not curled up yet so my bags are lumpy. Also, the bags aren't supper easy to get in and out of with the inserts in (which you MUST have in).
Carries a pretty good payload. Have used it to by up wards of 5 grocery bags full of grocerys, school books, etc.
Fits a supersport bike but be warned: they can't ride all the way back, if you don't have a fender eliminator your back turn signals may be an issue, and you need to watch the wheel contact problem. (the tail pipes in the picture take care of the wheel contact..but not all of us..probably the majority of us, have dual rear fender exhausts)

These bags are a great value. I'm able to put an awful lot of stuff into them. I originally purchased them with the intent of only using them for weekend trips such as camping at Mid-Ohio this past July for VMD. But now I leave them on all the time. Since I ride everyday, if I need to stop at the store after work, no problem. Whatever I need to get, I stuff in the bags. I fitted these to my 1978 Yamaha XS650 and they look great on there. Only negative is the black color has faded somewhat, but then my bike sits out all day in the sun while I'm at work. Not a big deal, the bags still look good. The rain covers do a very good job. RevZilla's shipping was very quick. I'm very satisfied with these bags and RevZilla.
