Daniel H:For wheel bearings: 1: Insert the slotted end of cylinder in to bearing. 2: Balance wheel on slotted cylinder on top of workbench or shop floor. 3: From opposite side of wheel, hammer wedged rod in to slot in order to expand the slotted end into the bearing. 4: Raise wheel up so that it is no longer resting on the cylinder (it should remain firmly wedged in the bearing along with the rod) and hammer the rod from the opposite side until the bearing pops out.
This tool, while primitive, worked quite well on my wheel bearings. Highly recommended for all bearings that you can get to both sides of. It will NOT work on blind bearings.Jan 16, 2015
