Awesome Tire
I am running my second set of these on my BMW RT; they last a LONG time! I run 38-40 PSI in the rear and logged over 14,800 miles before I changed out the back tire before starting a 4,300 mile tour of the eastern US, otherwise I could have gotten a full 15K out of this beast. Very neutral handling. I use with balance beads. I will probably have to go with the PR3 or 4s next time around, these are getting pretty scarce now. I've run many other brands and these are the longest lasting by far. Never made 10K on any other tire, more like 8 or 9K.

7k Little To No Wear
I wouldn't say I was hesitant to try these tires, because if you read around on the forums, this tire is pretty much THE tire for sport touring. Let's just say, it didn't disappoint in over 7k miles of use.

I put these on my '02 VFR and set out for MI from OR on a 6k mile trip. Twisties in OR, and CO and CA. The other 9 states were flat out boring. Boring, but fast. Mix in an average freeway speed of 92 mph and a backroad speed in the high 70's, and you should be blowing through tires quickly, at least cupping right? No.

I recently took the VFR in to my usual shop and the guy was adamant I would need to replace my tires after 6k. I said, "No, really they're like new" and he said that they would need to be replaced. Fine, whatever, I'll show you I thought. I brought it down for a service and he looked at the tires and he said "You're right, you don't need new tires". NO @#$@! I still have nubs in places and I was leaning it all through CO and OR, and flat spots are non existent.

Bottom line. Get this tire. It's grippy enough for street and works awesome in the rain. Never had a slip issue on any corner and it warmed up well in cold morning starts. If you want a race tire, and actually race, get one. If you want real world use and longevity, don't mess around, just get these.

Great Tires for the Street
I have about 2500 miles on these tires now, not the first time i have had them nor will it be the last. They hold up great even though i commute as much as i do on the slab, still no sign of squaring. I ride 5 days a week 40 miles each day for work. Rain or shine and sub freezing temperatures. These tires have always held up. While not on the sv, I have run these tires on the track on my street triple and they are fine as long as you pay attention to how hot they get. They can get slippery after a few sessions on the track. Not something you will ever have to worry about on the street or canyon carving. You just dont put a tire through the stress a track day does while riding your bike on the street. Add in these do better then track oriented tires in the cold and wet and last longer, its a no brainer to go with these.

Best tires for the street
I discovered these tires a few years back, when got into "Sport touring" riding with my 09 Ninja 650R. They are by far way better than the original OEM Bridgestone 021. The first impression was- the bike stays glued to the road, don't wonder around on a windy day... Than the grip on a twisty road is excellent- don't recall EVER to slip and slide the rear on a sharp turn, what was a common case with the OEMs. The wear is phenomenal too - the rear gets around(-/+ 1000mi) 10k mi, front gets 20k mi. Since than I use these tires on ALL my bikes (I never go to tracks, just street fun) - FJR1300, GSX-R750, Duke II supermoto. They perform outstanding, never had any problems or complains. I will never even try another brand, maybe only the newer versions of the same tire... I have had some Dunlops on a Harley, also Pirellis on my FJR and Magna V65 when bought, they don't even come close to Michelin, don't waste your money! Other tires don't grip so good and have less than half the life/mileage, at the same price. Go figure... Thanks, Michelin, for the excellent tires!

Good commuting tire
Came from Pilot Powers that only lasted about 4500 miles. These are not quite as sticky but I mainly use my bike for commuting so thats not a big deal. I have put about 2000 miles on them so far and it looks like these will last much longer that the powers. I have only ridden once in the rain since I put these on (live in Las Vegas) and I felt very confident with these tires.

Rocket ride on rails
My Hayabusa eats tires like a child eats candy... but not these tires. After 5000 miles they still look new. The coolest thing that I noticed was how quickly the bike lays over going into curves now. It makes it feel like a 600cc bike with endless power. It was a little discomforting at first as it felt like the bike was gonna fall completely on its side. But it stops falling in just the right angle just as abruptly as it falls out of upright. I feel like I am on rails on even the tightest curve. If you ride as many miles as I do (35 miles one way on combined curves and freeway 5-6 days a week year round) then these are the only tires you should ever use on your busa. Great wear, great traction, great wet weather grip, great stopping power.....this tire is great in every category!!!!!

Solid Sport Touring Buy
Haven't had them long enough to really comment on long-term tread life, but scrubbed them in for 700 miles in the Smoky Mountains last week in curves, highway and rain and they performed well.

michelin pilot road 2
Just got back from a 580 mile trip in eastern Ky.The tire proved dominant in its road test against all other tires I've had on my 2003 Yamaha FJR1300 Super Sport Touring motorcycle.I thought Avon tires were great but Michelin has outdone what I thought was the best tire yet. What Avon tires were missing was the tread wear in the center of the tire.My friend who has 1900 miles on his Michelin Pilot Road 2 tire does not compare to the Avon tire wear.Michelin lasts a lot more miles than Avon on center wear and performs well in the turns, rain, grip etc. Can't wait to replace my front tire with the Pilot Road 2.By far, Revzilla has been one of my most pleasant companies to deal with in all areas of my transaction. I will tell my friends too.

The 2CT technology is what you need on a front tire, if your back tire slides or slips you can possible come out of but if your front tire slips your not coming out of it. With these tires you don't have to worry about that

I was considering the PR3 and PR4, but saw a lot of reviews online saying that the PR2 is still a fantastic tire that has been tried and tested for years. A lot of people still stand by it over the PR3/PR4. It is also more affordable and has a better looking thread pattern than the PR3 and PR4.
Kevin H on Mar 4, 2014
Fantastic medium hard tire, still grips real good on my zx11 and will last a lot longer than soft compound tires

Because I will not be riding that much in the rain and do not see you point of paying more for the 3s if im not going to use them. also because I ride my bike everyday so I need somthing that can handle my style of riding.

Replacing the same tire that is one my bike with around 10K + miles on them. Would have got a few thousand more if not for a puncture.

This will be my 2nd set of Pilot Road 2s on my 2009 R6. My first pair have about 10,000 miles on them and I will probably put another 1-3 miles on them before I put the 2nd set on.
Christopher C on Aug 13, 2013
I ride a Speed Triple as my commuter and I ride 60+ miles a day just to and from work. I need a tyre with good longevity yet something that care take a corner or to and still stick (thanks to the dual compound). I ride in Las Vegas so rain isn't too much of an issue which means I didn't feel I needed the Pilot Road 3. Also warming up my tyres isn't too hard to do in Vegas (unless its winter). Overall I'm looking forward to trying these tyres out and fingers crossed they are as good as I hope.

What's the difference between a 180/55 17 and a 180/55 17B? Which size is correct for my 2013 BMW F800GT?
A shopper on Dec 3, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I regret that I can't answer the sizing question. However, I purchased the 190/60/17 for my 2006 Ducati Multistrada 620 and they were perfect on a 1600 mile trip to and from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Could not have been happier with the tires at full lean. I bought both front and rear and recommend doing so. My suggestion is to fit the exact BMW manufacturer spec.
Springs coming...stay safe.
I'm looking at the 180/55 17 Pilot Road 2. I assume that is a rear by the size. correct?
A shopper on Nov 13, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the 180/55-17 Michelin Pilot Road 2 is a rear tire. If a specific size is available in the same size for both a front and a rear application, it will be specified as such.
Can you assure me the PR2 is less than three years old?
A shopper on Jan 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Im sure that revzila does a great job at keeping track of there inventory. And as a side note riders, as I'm sure you know, are changing their tires every other year, if not every year, that is a lot of inventory changeover. Especially for tires that are as good as these, that are in high demand, and are used on a wide variety of different motorcycles from sport to sport touring to straight touring and more. I'm sure they can assure you that these tires are changing over quickly.
Is this offer for both front and back tires? I see two tires in the picture.
A shopper on Mar 12, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The Michelin Pilot Road 2 Tires are sold separately and not as a pair.
Looking at Michelin tire 180/55zr17B. What does the letter B stands for ?
A shopper on Oct 27, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The "B" in the tire specification (180/55ZR-17B) signifies that particular tire has a reinforced sidewall and is intended to heavier touring bikes such as Yamaha FJR1300's, BMW K1600GT's, Kawasaki Concourse's. etc...
