Michelin Pilot Power Tires

You don't have to be world champion to get your hands on Michelin® racing tire technology. Pilot® Power tires use a rubber mix that was originally developed for MotoGP racing, and a tread pattern that covers less than 12% of the tire's surface. The result is a maximum lean angle of 50.6 degrees on dry pavement and 41.9 degrees in the wet, achieved with a stock sportbike.

  • MotoGPderived rubber compound requires minimal warmup time
  • The softest rubber mix in its class for remarkable grip, yet maintains tire performance even at advanced stages of wear
  • Unprecedented lean angles: 50.6 degrees in the dry, 41.9 degrees in the wet
  • Rubber mix remains soft even at lower temperatures providing excellent grip from the start of your ride
  • Grooved area that's less than 12% of the tread pattern for phenomenal cornering adhesion
  • "These are the best street tires I've ever ridden in my life." Steve Atlas, Roadracing World

These are absolutely fantastic. I ride in all types of weather and have found these to be reliable and sticky. I've only had them on for about 2,000 miles but so far they are showing minimal levels of wear.

The pilot power tire is great, long lasting, and holds in the curve like a soft race tire. you can do whatever you want with this tire. I have a little over 15,000 miles on two sets of tires, and i ride hard. I ride in any kind of weather, it doesn't matter. The tires are on a YAMAHA FZ1, that has high performance extras, and the pilot tire keeps up. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS TIRE. THE PRICE IS GREAT.

These are very good tires. They offer a long life while giving great traction. The only thing you will need to take note of, is that the tire tread will outlast its grip. Once you see a bluish rainbow type effect out at the edge of the tire, you are due for a replacement. The tire will still have tread and will still be usable, but it will not grip as well as when new. This is not a complaint by any means, just an observation.

For the price of these, you cannot go wrong. The stock tires that come on new bikes only last for a few thousand miles with limited traction.. whether you realize it or not. Replace with these and you'll understand what I'm talking about. Dry traction is greatly improved. The tread design is simple but it works very well, as the wet traction is phenomenal. I've had two sets of these, each got me at least 9000 miles. This is only because I did a lot of highway riding and that really takes its toll on the center of the tread.

I've had these on my bike for 10,000 miles as of yesterday. I put these on in place of the stock Dunlop tires on my R6. Immediately there was a noticeable grip difference. I got a great deal on these at $200 for the pair.
I don't do any burn-outs so the tread life has been great. In Vegas there aren't a lot of twisty's or sweepers, so the far edge doesn't have as much of a wear, so I am thinking of going with one of the 2 or 3 compound rear tire next.
Yes, I recommend this product.
