Michelin Pilot Power Front Tires

You don't have to be world champion to get your hands on Michelin racing tire technology. Pilot Power tires use a rubber mix that was originally developed for MotoGP racing, and a tread pattern that covers less than 12% of the tire's surface. The result is a maximum lean angle of 50.6 degrees on dry pavement and 41.9 degrees in the wet, achieved with a stock sportbike.

Features:

  • MotoGPderived rubber compound requires minimal warmup time
  • The softest rubber mix in its class for remarkable grip, yet maintains tire performance even at advanced stages of wear
  • Unprecedented lean angles: 50.6 degrees in the dry, 41.9 degrees in the wet
  • Rubber mix remains soft even at lower temperatures providing excellent grip from the start of your ride
  • Grooved area that's less than 12% of the tread pattern for phenomenal cornering adhesion
  • "These are the best street tires I've ever ridden in my life." Steve Atlas, Roadracing World

Always go to tire
I never stray from this the 1st Pilot Powers. Its not just the price, its the feel. Has that VERY easy tip side to side feel that is better than the last tire I tried the Diablo Rosso II. Mileage is really good, I get about 7-8k out of them every time.

Even the tech at the garage said he rides on these
I am 100% satisfied with these tires. They're super sticky on the road. Have about 1000 miles on them and still got the grip. For the price I was skeptical, but when I took them to the dealer to have them put on the mechanic said I made a good choice with these tires as he rides his with them.

They heat quick, are super sticky, and are very affordable. Will buy again

Great tire, AWESOME SALE PRICE
Sale price $94, free shipping, and applied some revzilla store credit that I had. Can't go wrong with Michelin Pilot tires. I have been using them for years, been through about 4 or 5 sets now. I have never had a problem with Michelin Pilot tires. They work fine.

I use the multi-compound pilot road ones on my sport touring bikes. These pilot power ones are not multi-compound, and are a little stickier. which means they wouldn't last as long with all things the same.

I bought these for a BMW 650CS Scarver.

I see a lot of reviews, many different make/models of tires, talking about tread life, and/or scalloping of the tread. I think that both of those are usually caused by the riders style and usually not caused by the tire. I have been on long tours where I have put 11,000 miles on a set of tires that was ridden gently and smoothly. I have used the same bike, with the same model of tires that I have worn out (to the steel belt showing) in 7,000 miles of hard sport riding in the twisties.

When I am doing a lot of trail braking into a turn, and getting on the throttle hard on the way out, I tend to scallop tires. If I ride more smoothly and less aggressively, I wear the tires more smoothly.

No complaints.
Much better than the dry rotten, 10 year old tires that came on my Hawk. So far nothing to complain about. Grippy, good in the wet, don't seem to be wearing too badly.

Low price, quality. I didn't need a super-performance tire, just street ridding and Michelin has an excellent reputation. Have 3 different Michelin models on bikes in the family.

I chose this tire because they are the best bang for your buck. They are a very sticky tire and are very confidence inspiring. I am actually just replacing the old Pilot Power i got on my Gixxer Telefonica ed. with another Pilot Power. Great Tires!!!

what tire pressure recommended for pilot powers? front and rear, street use... thanks
A shopper on Apr 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I run 30psi front and 26-30 in the rear, but that's on the low end for street. Depends a bit on the bike and type of riding you do. I'm not sure what high end for street is but I would try to stay below 40psi.
