Michelin Pilot Power Front Tires

You don't have to be world champion to get your hands on Michelin® racing tire technology. Pilot® Power tires use a rubber mix that was originally developed for MotoGP racing, and a tread pattern that covers less than 12% of the tire's surface. The result is a maximum lean angle of 50.6 degrees on dry pavement and 41.9 degrees in the wet, achieved with a stock sportbike.

Features:

  • MotoGPderived rubber compound requires minimal warmup time
  • The softest rubber mix in its class for remarkable grip, yet maintains tire performance even at advanced stages of wear
  • Unprecedented lean angles: 50.6 degrees in the dry, 41.9 degrees in the wet
  • Rubber mix remains soft even at lower temperatures providing excellent grip from the start of your ride
  • Grooved area that's less than 12% of the tread pattern for phenomenal cornering adhesion
  • "These are the best street tires I've ever ridden in my life." Steve Atlas, Roadracing World

Great tire, AWESOME SALE PRICE Sale price $94, free shipping, and applied some revzilla store credit that I had. Can't go wrong with Michelin Pilot tires. I have been using them for years, been through about 4 or 5 sets now. I have never had a problem with Michelin Pilot tires. They work fine. I use the multi-compound pilot road ones on my sport touring bikes. These pilot power ones are not multi-compound, and are a little stickier. which means they wouldn't last as long with all things the same. I bought these for a BMW 650CS Scarver. I see a lot of reviews, many different make/models of tires, talking about tread life, and/or scalloping of the tread. I think that both of those are usually caused by the riders style and usually not caused by the tire. I have been on long tours where I have put 11,000 miles on a set of tires that was ridden gently and smoothly. I have used the same bike, with the same model of tires that I have worn out (to the steel belt showing) in 7,000 miles of hard sport riding in the twisties. When I am doing a lot of trail braking into a turn, and getting on the throttle hard on the way out, I tend to scallop tires. If I ride more smoothly and less aggressively, I wear the tires more smoothly. February 17, 2014
Great grip Can always trust Michelin to produce a great tire for the price. February 17, 2014
Good tire at good price As far as multi compound tires go, this is a winner. My previous tires were the dunlop smart touring tires and these are much more receptive and confidence inspiring. October 1, 2013
good tires Good tires at a good price. Have handled and worn well so far. August 19, 2013
Super sticky round. Touchy Handling. Very precise Like the above says... I have to admit I wasn't ready for this tires super responsive characteristics. 60-70+ mph Corner carving is a breeze one handed. Haven't overheated the Pilot yet and haven't noticed any chunking. Great wet handling in moderate to high rain fall. All in all I am very happy with my choice August 5, 2013
Great Rubber My last pair went 6k miles on the front and rear on my Ducati Monster 695. Great tires for the money. July 29, 2013
Even the tech at the garage said he rides on these I am 100% satisfied with these tires. They're super sticky on the road. Have about 1000 miles on them and still got the grip. For the price I was skeptical, but when I took them to the dealer to have them put on the mechanic said I made a good choice with these tires as he rides his with them. They heat quick, are super sticky, and are very affordable. Will buy again June 12, 2013
