Metzeler tires are choice Great tires for on and off. Altough they are primarily street tires they handle abd grip off road like a dream. March 17, 2014
Excellant tire This will be my fourth rear Tourance on my GS. I was forced to replace it from experiencing a flat. I was in a place where I was forced to ride it over eight miles as it lost air and eventually went flat. It functioned as much like a "run-flat" tire as one could hope for. Stability was predictable and never did i fear loosing control or feel that the tire would peel from the rim. I'd thought of trying other brands/tread designs but given this recent experience I'll stick with the Tourance. It is a superior product and through Revzilla it is priced right. Mileage if not replaced prematurely is very good, about 11k rear, 17 k front. March 3, 2014
Year Round Rider. Wouldn't Leave Home Without Them! I am a year round rider in New England. I have several motorcycles but during the winter months and during rain showers I ride my Kawasaki KLR650. When my stock treads needed to be replaced, I went with the Metzeler Tourance tires. These things are GREAT. I have been in the snow, rain, sub-zero cold and they hold up in any condition. I highly recommend these tires. January 25, 2014
Great tires Great tires for the GS 1200 2008 Super customer service January 6, 2014
Good choice overall for big bore adv bikes Got 6000 +mi. out of the factory original. Liked it enough to replace with same.obviously this tire is designed with a on road bias,Which is where my 2012 Yamaha super Tenere spends the majority of its time. This tire corners very well, wet or dry.Off road performance is better than expected, but is limited by its design. Great for my purposes Beginning with the "4" rating for tread life... That grade comes more from knowing other people's experience with the tire. Haven't had mine long enough to offer an informed response. What I can say about the tire is that it's impressing me in comparison to the Bridgestone Battlewings that I've been used to. The Battlewings came on a new yamaha super tenere and were the only OEM tires in my 40+ years of riding that weren't quickly replaced with another model. I went with the Tourance's as a change of pace while wanting a bit more offroad traction without going to a semi-knob. The tire hasn't disappointed in any of the areas that I've used it. Wet, dry, packed dirt, gravel and forrest roads find it well behaved and predictable. Coming from a dirt background it's difficult for me to adjust to road biased tires if only for their appearance. In fact, visually the relatively smooth design hadn't inspired my confidence. But after a few thousand riotous miles the Tourance and I have become buddies. Married with traction control they're outstanding in my opinion. They'll now be my go-to tire. December 9, 2013
What can I say that hasn't been said? I would say this is the last proper tire for a BMW R1200GS. The EXP and NEXT are useless off road. Tires like the TKC80 aren't great on a bike that, if we're honest, will mostly be on pavement. These are the last tires around that can go from mud to pavement, and last long on pavement, with a simple tire pressure change. November 18, 2013
Improvement over stock! Put these tires on my 2009 Vstrom, big improvement over stock OEM tires only done about 2000 miles so far good no regrets yet. Once again revzilla was great and fast shipping. October 29, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
DOUGLAS P: No particular reason other then I needed to replace the rear tire. This tire served me well and got about 13000 miles on it before it was replaced with the Michelin Anakee 2 which also gave me 13000 miles. This seems to be the average for the DL650 and the way I ride Apr 13, 2014
Daniel W: Love these tires. These are all I have used on my BMW R1200GSA. Excellent traction on both dry and wet roads, even
on cold pavement ( 0 degrees ). Usually get at least 10K miles from the rear tire and that includes 3 - 5K riding
2-up and/or fully loaded. Only limitations I have found is mud, snow, sand and large gravel, which is to be expected with
a 10/90 tire.

Robert D: Great mileage. I will spoon these on for longer road trips that don't include any off road riding. Apr 7, 2014
Edmund C: Have used this tire for years on my DL650 V-strom, Like the handling and mileage I get from this tire Mar 19, 2014
S S: Metzlers are known for the hard rubber compound which allows the tire to go many miles. I bought this one for the longevity of the tire. The hard compound also saved me from popping the tire a bunch of times on hard-pack dirt roads. All in all, it was a good tire but I recommend this more for frequent highway use only. Jan 26, 2014
Stephen J: The best tire in terms of handling, quiet operation, all weather traction and tread life for my Triumph Tiger Jan 18, 2014
JUAN B: because i use in my bmw r1200 gs adventure Jan 13, 2014
John B: standard stuff for the GS - I dont do much off road work but they last OK on the road too Dec 9, 2013
Stephen R. J: Long wearing. Reliable. Oct 29, 2013
Dale I: I chose this because of my riding style and rating that these tires have recieved. Oct 17, 2013
V B: This is a great tire for my klr 650 really opened it up on the twisties, but it's expensive, I almost wish i would have put some shinko 705's on instead for the money but instead i just put a 705 on the front. I am very impressed with this tire though, if you want to fork the money over for this tire go for it! Sep 23, 2013
John R: Reputation and reviews. Also looking to try something different than what I've been using. Sep 9, 2013
VICTOR M: Always used this tire on my R1200 GS for the last 80,000 miles Aug 19, 2013
