this lock is amazing! doesnt scratch swing arm, disc lock works separately or works with 5 foot chain for extra security I will reccomment this to my other riders! I use this product at home in the shed or the disc brake alone when at the gym, etc... great overall product! highly recommended March 25, 2013
I can see how this chain will prevent your bike from being stolen! Ok the chain is diesel! no one is going to steal your bike when this chain is put on properly. The anti theft program is cool too; basically if you register your chain within the first 15 days of purchase on Kryptonite website, you will be covered if the chain gets cut or if the lock fails. You will need to provide the police report and pictures and insurance and title information...they will only reimburse you for a certain amount obviously they wont pay for your whole bike but....its better than nothing. its 30 $ extra if you want the anti theft program for 3 years...or something like that. Anyway this 3ft chain is a little bit short...so don't expect to tie it around a fat tree or something like that...but the only reason I got the 3ft one is because it is lighter than the 5ft one and it is still freakin heavy! I can only imagine how the 5ft one feels, riding around with that thing is going to be rough... So basically really happy with the chain, the only thing is it could be lighter. But if you got saddle bags or somewhere to put the chain on your bike so you don't have to carry it in your backpack, then I would go for the 5ft one... The only way this chain can be cut is with a grinder for like a minute straight, so don't tie it to some pole in some alley way where the thieves can grind away without being noticed....lol But overall, its a solid chain!
