Wrap it around something and your bike isn't going anywhere.
It's flexible enough to be stuffed into a tank bag. And it's strong. You could probably use it to haul a trailer if you needed to. It also isn't obscenely heavy. (probably weighs about 4 lbs.)
On the downside. The lock isn't all too easy to use. You have to turn the key a full 360 to unlock it. And then you have to leave the key in while you tie the bike up. And it doesn't just click back together. You have to place the ball in the socket and wind the key 360 in the opposite direction to lock it.
You can't always find something to lock it to. But when you do. Problem solved! Your bike isn't moving unless a police tow truck shows up with an industrial strength motor operated metal grinder. You're not going to cut this with a handheld device.

It will at least slow them down or make them look for an easier target. Huge aircraft style cable well made lock.
