Joe Rocket Hemp Jacket 4.5 5 44 44
Really nice textile jacket I orginally looked at this jacket purely from a style and protection aspect. I wanted a lightweight jacket that had good protection and could be worn on cooler nights. The hemp fabric feels like a mix between denim and cordura. It fits perfect. It does bunch up slightly when you sit crouched, but that's a small tradeoff for something that's comfortable. I think that will actually happen a little less as the fabric wears and gets softer. I can't say how good the protection would be in a spill, but I can guarantee that it would be better than a sweatshirt. Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and Revziilla is freakin awesome. Great price, free shipping and it arrived in one day. I hope that Joe Rocket doesn't discontinue this jacket. May 1, 2013
Not too shabby, slightly large I bought this as what I thought would be a year-round jacket for urban scooter riding. I bought it because it had the armor I wanted and multiple pockets including inside pocket. I am 5'11", 160 pounds, 32" waist and got a medium. I've riden with this jacket for 6 months now, through the coldest time of the year, down to 20F or so with no complaints. I can fit a long sleeve shirt and sweatshirt underneath with no issues. Everything zips up tight. Which brings me to my next point, warm weather riding. Without any additional layers underneath, (just a tee shirt) this thing just flops around and feels like I am wearing something way to large for me. Airflow is nice with the mesh zip front and exit vents but the front bunches up and looks like i have a beer gut the size of a pony keg. The side straps help to some extent but always seem to ride up if I tighten them too much. Standing up, the issue is null so perhaps it is just how I sit on the scoot. Pads see to stay in place and besides for a few tiny stitching issues, still looks brand new. I will probably get another jacket for summer that I can wear just a tee-shirt with and not look too funny. April 10, 2013
Fantastic Jacket It's nice to find a jacket of this styling in a non-leather alternative without sacrificing protection. February 18, 2013
Awesome Jacket very happy I bought it before it's gone Perfect fit I'm 6' 150lbs and it's very comfortable. Everything is adjustable on the jacket which is great. The hemp matriel is very thick and it feel's like it could handle a spill haven't tested it though (thank god). The only problem I had is when you sitting still it get's a little warm and when you sit up the elbow protectors slide down a little bit but go right back when you get into the riding position so not a huge deal other than that I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Looks great and a really good price! Only thing I have bad to say about this product is that it fit a little too big in the chest. Overall I really like it, looks neat! Would have given it five stars, but I'm kind of picky :P. Anyways I would definitely recommend this jacket to any rider November 19, 2012
Really happy with this jacket. A great summer jacket at a great price. Very comfortable, if a little on the large side. Enough pockets to put all my stuff in, but not so many that I forget which pocket I put it in. This is my second Joe Rocket jacket and I will keep buying their products for their high quality. November 13, 2012
Overall good I like the jacket. It is a little big in the chest so it will bunch up when sitting on the bike. If your arms are long keep the size you normally order. If your arms are short you might try one size smaller. October 4, 2012
Well made jacket at a good price For the price, I'm pleased with the quality, fit and features of this jacket. Comfort range for me is 50-80'F September 30, 2012

Answer:
This is NOT waterproof. A light mist and you will be fine but any substantial rain for more than 2-3 minutes and the front of you will be soaked.

I've read the specs and the reviews, and am still wondering how this jacket would fare in 20-30 degree winter weather.

Answer:
The Joe Rocket Hemp Jacket is specifically designed to be a winter weather jacket. How low in temperature it can be worn depends on ones own personal temperature tolerance as there is no set temperature range for the jacket.

Answer:
Not really good lower than 40 degrees for me. There is a removable vest, so it doesn't cover the arms. I found that sub 40 degrees I'm adding a couple layers and still a bit cold after only 15-20 mins. Sweet spot for this jacket is between 45 and 75.

Answer:
I wore this jacket with a long sleeved shirt and a sweatshirt underneath on multiple 20 degree days for about 30 minutes at a time. My body stayed quite warm. The only thing that got cold were my fingers. Invest in some nice gloves is my advice.

Answer:
Unfortunately, there isn't a Denier rating for this jacket. Denier applies specifically to Codura fabric, and since this jacket is made with a different material, they don't list a Denier rating.

My guess would be that it is somewhere between 300D-600D, just based on the feel and thickness of the material. Hope this helps!

I see from the size chart that size small has chest of 38-40 and waist of 28-31. I have a size 32 waist, will the small still fit me or do I need to move up to size medium.

Answer:
I'll say from experience that this jacket fits at least a SOLID size larger than the given measurements. I have a 41" chest and the medium is a solid 2-3 inches larger than expected. I need a Small.

Answer:
I would recommend you get a small only if you plan to NOT wear too many layers underneath. I have very similar measurements to you and got a medium so I could stuff the layers on for winter riding.

Answer:
It's just tough buying clothing on-line when you can't try it on. I bought a medium based on comments about the jacket running large. I had to return it for a large because I needed more length in the sleeves. I'd suggest the medium, this jacket does not run large in my opinion.

not if your chest size is between 38 to 40,moving up a size may make the shoulders a bit bulky.only increase to the next size if you intend to ware some layers of clothing for extra warmth.
