Sometimes a name says it all-'Ventilated Riding Shoe'. Built on an ultra comfortable athletic bottom unit, the Tarmac is up to the challenge of the mean summertime streets. Internally the Tarmac is heaven, built around a wicked outsole for a custioned ride but reinforced with an Axialmetric steel shank. But externally is where the Tarmac really shines. The chassis is built from a street-proof combination of action leather and ultra-durable vented Rocpro mesh. Heel, toe, and ankle plastic plates combine to serve and protect. The hidden constant tension lacing system provides killer fit while keeping the eyestay area snag free. If you've ever hooked your shoe laces in your shifter than you know all about the necessity of this feature. Finally, forefoot and ankle straps keep the whole shoe on lockdown should the unfortunate occur.

I purchased this boot because I wanted something with more protection than a regular shoe, but that didn't look like a power ranger boot or something like that. I've only worn them on the bike a total of 3 times so far, but so far so good. They fit true to size from what I can tell. I tend to have a wide foot, and these do not squeeze or pinch my toes in any area. I can't comment on the durability yet, as I've only had them for about two weeks. I've worn them for about 8 hours straight, doing things around town and they are very comfortable once you're off the bike as well. The only "con" that I had, was that the toe box area is pretty thick, which from a protection standpoint is probably a good thing, but it took a little getting use to for me because it's more of an effort to get your toe under the shift lever. Overall I'd say this boot was a good buy.

I got these shoes recently and straight out of the box they were very comfortable. The build quality and finish looks & feels premium. I ride to work a couple of times a week and the first time I wore the shoes, I had them on for almost the whole day and did not feel any discomfort. I was even told they look cool, especially the bright orange-red sole! They fit true to size, although I found them a bit difficult to get into. But I guess it will stay on in case of a spill! I live in Dubai where its sunny year around. We don't have much of a winter. Its late October now and the temperature is around 33C (91F) and I my feet didn't feel very hot or sweaty while I was riding in these boots. I feel I made the right choice! I really like these shoes and recommend to anyone looking for a great pair of riding boots that you can wear all day long. Stay safe you all out there!

All around a great boot. Styling' like Frankenstein but beefy where they need to be. Ultra thick soles help me be taller for the ladies.

Very good boot. Very comfortable with decent protection. Steel shank helps with riding comfort as well. Fit perfectly to my regular shoe size. Easy on/off with the hook and loop closures.

This is my first pair of MC boots; I've had these for about 4 weeks now, and they have been very comfortable since day one. I've had numerous pairs of hiking boots in the past (I'm an avid camper/hiker) and these were very easy to break in. I was looking for a boot that I could put on and take off without a lot of hassle and these are outstanding in that capacity. They can be worn for extended periods of time and remain comfortable. They flow a decent amount of air and my feet did not get hot while riding during an extensive heat wave in our area of 90+ degrees.
When stopped, the wide sole gives me a stable platform to put my feet down and the soles seem to provide good grip on the road surface. They leather is supple yet sturdy and should provide decent protection in case of a spill.
My only complaint is minor. As someone preiously mentioned, the closure at the ankle will not tighten as far as I would like. The boot will not slip off, but another 1/2 inch would really get the boot snug.
After 4 weeks of commuting, they show no real signs of wear and tear. I feel these will hold up for a long period of time.

Time is the true test of quality and my review is based owning these boots for several weeks. My best guess as to what size to order yielded me a perfect fit. The weight, sturdiness, overall design and features inspire confidence. All of which are important to a new rider such as myself. I can only site one design flaw and it is minor. The tab on the back which you would use to pull the boot up isn't quite long enough.

The Icon Tarmac Ventilated Boots are extremely comfortable, even when riding in 85°F plus weather.. The Velcro straps made the boot easy to put on and take off and the styling goes well equally with Jeans or Leathers..

I purchased a size 11.5, which is the exact size I wear in just about every kind of (non-boot) shoe I own, and it has fit me perfectly for going on 3 months. For the average US citizen I think the sizing is pretty true.If anything the fit is almost TOO close as that review described, because I occasionally catch myself wishing I'd gone up a half-size to 12 for more "all-day" comfort (During long 100+ mile rides I sometimes ease them off for a few minutes at intermittent pit stops and lunch breaks)... except it's probably for the best that I didn't as the fit is mostly perfect and the shoe simply isn't going anywhere in the event of a crash. I'd say order your size because having loose footwear is bad mojo on a motorcycle.
