I bought this on clearance sale to replace my old full-face. I live in Florida and ride every day; my commute is 74 miles round-trip. For most of the year, I wear a 3/4 helmet, but I use a full-face during the winter months to keep my face warmer. I decided to go with a modular this time. I do like being able to flip the helmet up when I walk from my condo to the parking lot, or my work parking lot to the building. This helmet has some things I don't like, though. Wile the internal sunglasses are a good idea, the tinting is too light for my preferences. I usually wear dark sunglasses, and this are very light. Also, I discovered a surprising issue with the vents. The vents do work quite well, but the rear exhaust vents don' have any way to close them. I guess HJC figured letting you close the front made the rear irrelevant. But, I found that the rear openings still create a vacuum at speed that actually sucks air up through the bottom of the helmet--between my chin and the chin bar. So, opening and closing the vents actually makes no difference--air is going through either way. I tested this by putting my hand between the chin and chin bar and that stopped the feeling of air going over my scalp. It's just getting cool in FL, but as it gets colder, I'm going to need to put electrical tape or something to cover the exhaust vents and stop the airflow.

I really like this helmet! I have another HJC but wanted a modular since I tour now more than sport ride. It's light and I like the easy and the placement of the latch to raise the chin bar. I also like the way the retractable shade is designed, on top with a slide lever and button. The only thing was that it was a little tight at first. It feels better now that I have put 4,000 miles under it.I thought I measured correctly but It was snug. Choose the right size and you will have a great helmet

I have had my helmet for about 1 week now and have really enjoyed it. I am comparing it to a full face Fuller helmet and the Icon mainframe full face. This is my first modular. It is different however very nice. Some have complained about the noise but I find it about the same as my full face helmets. Two things I really like are: air flow is much greater. You can feel the air moving across the top of your head and field of view of about 20% greater. The modular is nice and I really like the sun shield. It could be darker but it takes the edge off the sun without having to dig around for sunglasses. Quality product at a great price!

Love the options you get with the modular helmet. Read all the reviews that said the integrated sun shield was not great, they were pretty much right, but it works and it's there and it's convenient. Fit is good and I find the helmet to be comfortable. Airflow could be a tad better. Fit and finish is not up to the level of the higher end helmets. Overall, this is a great helmet for the money for me. I would buy it again.
