should have gotten one long ago!
there is no comparison between this and the clear shield that comes stock.fits perfect and very easy to replace.do yourself a favor and get the dark smoke.it works great,in my opinion better than sunglasses,and looks badazz!

Works well, but...
If you are expecting a shield that can completely substitute for sunglasses, this is not what you are looking for. The shield does a good job of cutting down on brightness on a partly sunny or overcast day. Full sunshine and and direct sunlight are a problem though.
The advantage with this is that I've been able to wear the shield at night (riding somewhere in the day and returning at night) and still had almost full visibility.
The anti-fog seems to work well too, and I haven't experienced any problems with it.
Another pro is that it looks a helluva lot cooler than a clear shield.

RST Mirror Green is SWEET.
Bought this for my CS-R2 Thunder helmet and the mirror green visor is sweet. Super fast and easy to swap out. Vision is clear and excellent. Perfect amount of tint and is just awesome for those clear sunny days. Don't hesitate, pick a tint color and buy one if you got a HJC helmet!

The shield is awesome
I bought the dark smoke shield for my helmet to use during the sunlight hours. This shield is very stylish and performs the task very well. I would recommend this shield to anyone looking for a dark smoke option for their helmet.

CS-R2 Compatible
I bought the dark smoke and it works great for these summer months.
Snaps right onto the CS-R2 and you're good to go.

Goes on easily, fits perfectly and looks great
I put this on my matte black HJC CL-16 and it looks waaaay better than the clear shield that came with it. Not that looks are everything, just sayin'... Anyway, it went on easily as expected with no fit issues, and once on, opens / closes as smoothly as the stock shield. Only bummer -which isn't the product's "fault"- is getting caught out after dark and having to ride home with the tinted shield, which is like driving at night with your sunglasses on. Need to get my saddlebags on so I can carry the clear shield with me in such cases.

While the HJC HJ-09 Face Shields will NOT work for the CS-Y, the HJC HJ-03 Face Shields will. Currently the shield is only available in clear, with the smoke and amber being on back order with no immediate ETA.

Based on some of the non-mirrored visors indicating that they are anti-fog, I assume that since the mirrored ones do not say that they are anti-fog, that means they are not. Is that correct? If so is there a reason why and can I do anything to add an anti-fog coating afterwards?

The RST Mirrored faceshields are not Anti-Fog or Anti-Scratch. Applying multiple different types of coatings onto a face shield is very costly and involved process which is why most manufactures choose to do only one coating at a time. Additionally, mixing different types of coatings together can cause adhesion problems, so its creates a more reliable product when only one coating is used. In order to determine what types of anti-fog products would be acceptable to use on your faceshield we would recommend contacting HJC directly at (562) 407-2186.10 months ago

These are not anti-fog. The HJC anti-fog or 2 pin have an additional layer/liner that fits onto the back side of the shield. I don't see why you couldn't apply something like rainex to the inside of the shield. The mirror coating is actually on the outside surface. Be advised the mirror tinting scratches very easily and will not last for long. I have had 2 in the last 6 months (and I take good care of them) but it seems kind of pricey for some short lived bling.Age: 45-54
