I bought this jacket this past summer when we were in the midst of an extreme heat wave in the greater Philly area. Airflow and cooling are excellent! This jacket looks great as you would expect from Dainese. One nit: I would prefer that this style jacket not have a neck closure, in this case a snap. When you are looking for maximum airflow, I think that the neck should be simply finished. Dealing with Revzilla was a pleasure. I had to exchange my first purchase (too small) and the Revzilla staffer I spoke with, Stefan, could not have been friendlier or more helpful. This was a real no-hassle experience. Revzilla and Stefan rock!

The staff at Revzilla really helped me out in finding this jacket. Simply put, it flows a LOT of air! While I can't really speak of it's protection and durability (if I could, I'd probably rank that as excellent as well) because I've only owned it for a few weeks now, and haven't crashed, I feel very confident it'll hold up quite well. I even like that this jacket does not come with a back pad. The little rubber pads that most jackets come with aren't really worth much, and with this jacket, you don't get a chance to let those little rubber pads fool you into a false sense of security. You have to get a quality pad from the start, or just deal with no protection. The shoulder and elbow / forearm armor fits very well on me, and the Dainese Air G back protector fits in the back pocket of this jacket like a glove. If I had to pick something to complain about, it would be the lack of interior pockets (hey, it's a mesh jacket....putting stuff in pockets just blocks airflow on these!) and the velcro waist adjusters. There are snaps on the neck and wrist closures, and it would have been nice to keep with the snaps all the way around. Bottom line, the jacket is a good value, great fit, superb airflow, and it makes sure that I've got a jacket and armor to wear on even the hottest of summer days.

It's an awesome jacket, it's mesh throughout the front and back. Armor in the shoulders and elbows. Mesh feels durable but I'm not sure and don't plan on finding out how it does in a fall. Amazing airflow when you ride and not as hot as other jackets when you're stopped in traffic. Jacket is really light too and built well.
My only criticism is that it's a bit too short for people with longer torsos and arms like me. An extra inch or two in length and sleeve would have been great. I'm 6'1 165lbs with a longer torso and arms. I got a size 50.

Pros: -Massive air flow. Definitely a must-have for hot weather riding. -High quality material workmanship both outside and inside. -Great design with small details that add that much more to the finish of the jacket. -Comfortable fit. -Not as hot as I had previously expected during stops in 85+ weather.
Cons: -No minimal rain protection (That's a given however, it's disappointing that the pockets are mesh as well.) -The shoulder pads are exposed on the inside. (I would prefer them to be inside a liner pocket of some sort.) Still, the benefits of this jacket outweigh this small detail.
Neutral: -No built-in back protector. Back protector must be purchased separately. (Not a big deal. Having an interchangeable protector is a good thing.) -Transparency is quite noticeable when wearing a white shirt underneath. Perfectly opaque when wearing a dark blue or black shirt instead.
This is by far the lightest protective jacket I have. I bought the all black version and will soon pick another Air-2 in blue to rotate wears.

So, first off, I am short and slim, so have a hard time finding jackets, or any gear for that matter. The jacket fits a little snug, which is perfect for me, and I am very happy with where the armor hits on my shoulders and elbows, really quite comfortable. Since I almost always ride with a backpack, I didn't get a back protector, but I may upgrade in the future.
The mesh is great once you get above 15mph even on 90 degree baking days. But this is a pure summer jacket - very good airflow across the chest and back, even with my backpack on. I've found myself wearing a long sleeve shirt for early morning rides, and peeling it off once the day warms up.
Two minor complaints - the arms could have better venting, particularly with the armor, my arms get warmer than my old jacket. Also an inside pocket, or someplace I could store my phone (I use it as GPS) and run my headphones into my helmet would be nice But it does work well by running the cables under the neck snap .
Overall good jacket, a bit pricey for the features, but that's Dainese in general. Looks and feels great.

First of all the fit... I'm 5'8", 180 lbs and the 52/42 fits perfectly. At first I thought it was a little tight across the chest but when I'm in the riding position it fits perfectly. I was looking for a lightweight mesh jacket with decent protection for my daily commute. Even though this is mesh, the armor in the arms has a great, close fit from the elbow down the forearm. The shoulder armor fits good as well. The material might burn through on a get off, but the armor seems like it will hold up. There's always a trade of between air flow and protection. This is definitely a great flowing jacket, almost like wearing a tshirt. The styling is great and the quality is top notch.

My second Air 2 Tex jacket. Great airflow and stout. This one replaces the first which suffered damage during a freeway highside at speed. Walked away without a scratch but jacket nor helmet survived. Great jacket for warm weather.

This jacket is perfect for summer riding and honestly I got a size 48 and all other riders i know complain about the heat and even contemplate about not wearing a jacket. I told them to give this jacket a try because it feels like im riding in my tshirt when i have this jacket on. Also if it gets to chilly its not to hard to just toss a sweater underneath it.
