Classic - don't leave home without it.
It's funny that after a decade of riding and using every imaginable method to strap down my gear, I come back to the bungee net. When you need to get your stuff from point A to point B in a pinch, nothing beats the simplicity and functionality of a bungee.

I've had a number of mesh nets that suck, this isn't one of them. High quality and worth every penny.

Funcational and inexpensive solution to carrying more
I bought two of these and am really glad I did as It took both to cover a fully packed backpack and mount it securely to my last 08 SV650s. I would regularly feel behind me to make sure everything was still in place and there never was a moment where it felt like anything was coming loose. These eventually offered some sweet peace of mind in traveling with a bit more stuff and are a seriously cheaper option to buying dedicated tank bags, or luggage pieces.

Cargo tiedown Net
Good idea to have at least one if not two of these Ideal size M/C cargo nets with you, because they have good expanding stretch for securing many extra items such as any style spare helmet - your rolled up leather jacket or medium size gym or gear bag etc, across your passenger seat which you can secure to your fender struts or handlebar risers etc.
My other two rides besides that Gixer shown below are

Works just like advertised, nothing to point out, except that the white ends do come out pretty easily so super glue them before first use.

Aaron V: I have a 2012 Yamaha FZ6R and it doesn't have much storage, but i wanted that genre of motorcycle. This cargo net really is appreciated when i want to bring another helmet for a pillion rider. The Yamaha FZ6R has a grab handle for the pillion rider and the hooks don't scratch the paint because i can hook to that handle.Oct 11, 2014
Matthew K: If it does not fit in your pockets its not coming, but sometimes you need to carry a watermelon.Oct 3, 2014
Alex F: Looks like an easy way to strap down small loads on the pillion.Sep 6, 2014
Jeanne M: We have one on my husbands bike, they are great. Secure anything with it lunch boxes gym bags etcJul 14, 2014
Jason R: I need to secure my 2nd helmet. Ladies keep asking to ride but I never have a second helmet attached to the motorcycle.Jun 3, 2014
Ed D: I was looking for some way to carry a second helmet and this was perfect. It fit my shoei qwest without a problem. The little rubber hook ends fell off, but that didn't bother me much.May 2, 2014
