Blocks Sun and Looks Sick!
What a struggle the very first day trying to swap face shields on an Arai Helmet. It was easy as pie after that though and well worth it. I am completely satisfied with my Arai helmet and dark smoke face shield.
The dark smoke face shield blocks the sun so no constant squinting or uncomfortable sunglasses needed with this one. This shield looks like it is painted black from the outside of helmet view so it gives you an aggressive look. You can see clearly through this tinted shield and if you get caught riding when the sun goes down, you can still get by riding it in the dark but avoid doing this by all means and continue to carry a clear shield with you.
The Arai SAI face shields are very strong and durable. Giant bugs have hit my face shields that sound like rocks crashing into them on impact. No scratches, breaks, or cracks after a year of riding with it.
I would recommend being careful when cleaning bugs off the shield after riding because some bugs have hard shells and if you just wipe them off quickly, you could accumulate scratches over time (with any brand of face shield). I use a wet microfiber cloth and lay it over the shield/helmet and let it sit for a couple minutes then gently wipe it off. There are better methods out there I'm sure but this works for me.

Awesome visor
Got the screen shield in the dark gray which enables me not to wear sunglasses underneath. Protects my eyes during daytime riding, however I would not recommend these for nighttime riding at all. They do their job and tint the rider from the sun.

Who said these face shields are hard to install?
Bought the smoked face shield for my Arai RX-Q to replace the clear version. Awesome product that offers just the right amount of tint during the day so I can ride without the need of sunglasses and although it's not recommended, you can still make it home if you're caught out at night with this face shield on as the smoked version still allows you to see at night.
No need to ride with two face shields anymore.
Great customer service from Revzilla got it to my doorstep in two days!!!
And it shipped for free!!!
That's what I call a win/win.

Nice Shield
I have the silver mirrored shield. Prior to purchasing it I would wear sunglasses behind clear shield, I have pretty sensitive eyes and wear sunglasses 99% of the time I am outdoors, even on cloudy days. I wish the tinting was just slightly darker for bright, direct sunlight, but it's a nice balance that allows me to wear the tinted shield even at dusk with plenty of visibility.
A word of warning, it will scratch a little more easily than I expected when cleaning the shield. I have a very fine scratch (most wouldn't notice) from using a paper towel to clean off some bugs.
The Arai system for switching shields is tricky at first, but if you watch the video it's very easy after the first couple of attempts.

Good add to your Arai
For daytime run, it is a must have. Provides eye comfort and less glare when running against the sun light. My only concern is that with 1 day of use, the corner where the lens is plugged into the helmet was scratched (from the natural moviment of opening and closing the lens). Nothing diferent than any other helmet visor, so it's ok.

Pricey but good in bright sun
It's Arai, so of course it's expensive.
The silver tint looks great and really helps on bright sunny days. The silvering looks very heavy from the outside (can't really see facial features at all) but from the inside you can see very well - except at night. It's not impossible to ride with at night but I don't recommend it because it definitely reduces how much you can see in the dark.
The fit on my RX-Q was perfect, once I figured out how to swap out lenses. I can get one shield off and the other on in about 30 seconds. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a tinted lens.

The Dark smoke is the darkest of them all. I would equate it to wearing black sunglasses. It seems they transition with the intensity of the sunlight. When it is cloudy outside they do not impair your vision, however I would not recommend them at night.Age: 18-24

Good day! I recently purchased a 2003 Triumph Sprint ST, which is silver in color. I would like to purchase an Arai Signet-Q and would like to color-match it to the bike.
