i got these boots for commuting and touring. I have used them in 18 degrees and been warm and also rode in the rain and are 100% dry. easy to get on and off also. sometimes it is worth a little more to get the better product and this is one of those times. i wear a size 8.5 tennis shoe and got a size 8 boot on revzillas recommendation and they fit perfectly. i use these boots every day twice a day for a month and nothing is wearing out yet. i feel these will be a good long term purchase. i ride a goldwing so i have heaters on the legs and feet but when i ride 15 miles in 25 degree i can put my feet on the touring pegs in the wind and still dont get cold feet.

I have very wide feet and have a great deal of trouble finding shoes that fit properly. When shopping for riding boots I found very few that had any mention of foot sizes beyond narrow or normal. After reading more than one review on these and hearing from a fellow rider with wide feet, I went for these boots. Had to send them back once and go up a size, second ones fit perfectly! I wear 11 4D and went with a EU 46. Couldn't be happier!

These are an excellent fit boot for me. I use a EE or EEE with 8.5 and was to order 9.0 and they fit my feet without crimping. In 80-85 F I did not experience much perspiration and the boots did not feel too hot. Goretex may have helped.

Easy to get into, great zipper/velcro integration, good profile on the boot toe -not too boxy and not too wedgy. I have approximately 3500 miles in them and they have broken in so well that I am comfy in them even off the bike. Two things that stem from the Gore-Tex: They are waterproof (torrential Philippines downpours but dry feet), but they are a bit warm in the hot weather. I ordered by the Euro sizing as well and they are spot on. If you go by US, they will be big.

This is a good solid boot. Good protection placement in the shin,ankle, toe and heel areas. Good gripping soles too. The down side to this boot is they leak badly in anything heavier then a light mist. I have had these for two summers and apply a waterproofing wax to the outer leather every few months, but they still leak, and because of the Gore-Tex, they take days to dry out. I recommend this as a good all around riding boot, but NOT as a rain boot.

Wore to a rally. Forgot my street shoes and wore them the whole time. It rained most of the time and feet were dry and comfortable. Have narrow foot and put in felt pad. Now fit great.

I tried these on and found them to be comfortable. They had good armor and flexibility. The velcro and zippers seemed of good quality.
Why I returned them (my only complaint) was because of the toe height (from sole to top of toe) was too tall for me. For shifting gears, more toe travel/angle was involved to shift gears. Maybe my shifter is too close to the foot peg? They did run on the slightly large side, though. I ordered a 45 as I wear a 10.5, but probably would've been better off getting a 44 instead.

I think that i started to like Alpinestars as a Brand because of these boots, when i first saw them i was astonished of its quality and style, and then i confirm how protective, rugged they are but confortable at the same time. I don´t see the point in getting another more expensive boot, for me this is more than enough for all kinds of use. But let me tell you one thing, this boots are not for the summer, forget it, your feet will get roasted but dry as a bone, that its true, the main seasons for these boots are fall and winter. Another thing is that they are not the most confortable off the bike, if you are planning to walk around a lot, try a riding shoe like the Afrika

The height in the back is 11 inches. They curve gently upward forward so that the height at the shin is around 12 inches from the ground. I have a pair of SIDI waterproof boots (for winter riding) and SIDI Evo-airs for dry summer riding, and with these boots standing side-by side on the shelf they're pretty much exactly the same. As an aside, the SIDIs fit very snug, and the length is slightly too short for me. I much prefer the fit of the TCXs, especially since the looser fit allows one to customize the feel with various insoles. Incidentally, these flow as much air as my Evo-airs, but that's probably because the SIDIs are too snug.
