This product was worth the price I bought the boots because they were Gore-Tex and the price was right ($199.99). I wore them around the house for several days, per Revzilla's recommendation. They were very snug initially. After about 10 days of household wear, 2-3 hours per day, they did break in nicely. Now they are snug. I treated them with a leather balsam for additional weatherproofing and to nourish the leather. I have ridden in moderate rain with them and they kept my feet both warm and dry. They are comfortable to walk around with, and they are getting more supple as I wear them more. I would not go hiking with them or spend all day walking in them, but for rides, and some moderate walking they really fit the bill. I am hoping that the shifter area loosens up a bit. I would like a little more feeling in that area. I can definitely feel the extra layers in that area July 7, 2014
Good value The fit is good, a little tight at first but have stretched out nicely. No chance yet to evaluate rain worthiness. Quality boot at a reasonable price. July 7, 2014
1 Year Later... Bought them May-2014. Overall very good after a year of riding. Very comfortable from day 1. All elements have held up well: materials, zippers, velcro, exterior stitching. I'd buy again. June 14, 2014
Goov value for money ... for Gore-tex I've used these boots for a couple of months now and they do a good job. They fit slightly small (I have a 44.5 EU size) and they take a while to break in. However, during my rides they behave well, seamless waterproofing and some, but no excessive, sweating thank to the gore-tex. They feel sturdy but definitely they are not good for hard core off road. the zip is OK; it tends to open if you have a bigger foot like mine but the velcro keeps it tight. Overall theboots are comfortable, and keep me warm (above 10C/60F so far). they are not the most stylish boots around but they will be worn out by the end f summeer so not a biggie for me. Alpinestar is a great brand and so far they didn't let me down. take care. June 9, 2014
Best boot for the money This is actually my second pair of these Alpine Star Web boots. The first pair lasted about 6 years of everyday riding. They eventually had a seem tear on the zipper lining making it very difficult to zip the entire way. They are completely waterproof yet very breathable and comfortable even for hot summer riding. You will not find Goretex material at this price point anywhere and the stuff works. Only took about two days riding to get them perfectly flexible and comfortable. Would recommend highly. Revzilla was awesome to work with. May 12, 2014
A great boot that does it all for my needs I've worn many brands and types of boots over the years, but I have to say my AlpineStars are the most "flexible" for my needs. I'm on my second set of these. They are warm in the winter and allow enough air flow in the summer to keep you comfortable. They're waterproof and very comfortable. The entire key to this is simple, the Gore-tex liners. They are reasonably priced. Overall well suited to ADV and touring duties. For track duty, there are better boots. May 8, 2014
Very good boots Just got them. I'm an 8.5 in Asics running shoes, and 42 fits perfect. Not tested in rain yet. Will update this review accordingly. The best price I got for these here in Canada is 329$ CAD. So at 199$ USD, with the taxes and the customs, it's a deal. We are totally ripped off up here :-( My only complain, if you can call it a complain(!), would be that they are a bit thick at the toe box, so get under the shifter of my 2013 V-Strom is a bit tricky. This is due to the added protection at the toe box. I resolved the issue by audjusting the shifter lever, and my toes will be happy if a crash! Other thing is the little velcro that old the zipper up when close. This little piece of velcro was not sewed out of the box. My mother in law was happy to fix that in 2 minutes in exchange of a big smack! Looks like that I will be happy for years with those boots. May 6, 2014
Great boot for the money First pair of boots since old dirt bike days.Very glad I bought these, they are easy to put on and take off and have superb protection where needed.Strong shin and ankle protection.Very comfortable after 1200 miles but no rain. Not my first rodeo and can tell they will last for many seasons dry or wet.Great job to both Alpinestar and Revzilla. RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Jerem K: I chose this boot due to look, cost, reputation of brand quality and based on reviews on revzilla's website. Jul 15, 2014
Vicki W: My son just purchased a motorcycle and I wanted to get him a pair of boots and he picked these. I hope he likes them. Jul 15, 2014

samuel m: Great boots...very comfortable and have kept my feet dry and toasty. They also seem to breathe reasonably well in warmer weather. I am very pleased with them thus far. Jul 8, 2014
GREGORY M: Attempting to fit wide calves; these were suggested by Revzilla rep after trying Daytona Lady Stars that didn't work out. Jul 7, 2014
Todd G: All the reviews said this was the best boot for the buck! Jul 7, 2014
Keith T: Replacement for some Joe Rocket sonic boots where the zipper failed. Thought (and was correct) that this was a better constructed boot. A couple of inches shorter than a full-sized boot, I can pack both boots into one side case. Only negative is the top of the boot sometimes catches on the foot peg when lifting my foot from the ground. Jun 17, 2014
Wilson L: Wanted a waterproof boot mainly for colder weather riding. Quality is good, fit chart was accurate. Toe box is big, and ankle/sole is quite stiff (as RevZ video indicates). Because of this, it is not a good boot for sport riding where frequent fast upshifts are needed, but works very well for general street riding. Have not needed the GoreTex waterproof function through the spring, but I am sure it is a good waterproof boot. Jun 14, 2014
Steve S: I have a pair of these that I've just about worn out, so I am replacing them. They have been absolutely water tight through all kinds of weather for many years of cross country travel and daily commutes. Jun 12, 2014
michael g: These are super comfortable boots to walk in and wear for hours. They didn't need any break in though other reviews say the contrary. So happy and they look awesome. I wear them as regular shoes while at work and I did pop in my own insoles from REI that helps with arch comfort. LOVE THESE BOOTS. Jun 10, 2014

A shopper asked: Hello, what is the height of the boot from bottom of sole to top? I want to compare it with the height of my current boots.
Is it possible to get the height of ALL the boots added to the descriptions and/or videos?
For me, it would be good to know before placing an order.

Goldwing1: The height in the back is 11 inches. They curve gently upward forward so that the height at the shin is around 12 inches from the ground. I have a pair of SIDI waterproof boots (for winter riding) and SIDI Evo-airs for dry summer riding, and with these boots standing side-by side on the shelf they're pretty much exactly the same. As an aside, the SIDIs fit very snug, and the length is slightly too short for me. I much prefer the fit of the TCXs, especially since the looser fit allows one to customize the feel with various insoles. Incidentally, these flow as much air as my Evo-airs, but that's probably because the SIDIs are too snug.

Hope that helps.

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Gary R: I have a D width and they are fine for me. Didn' t have any problem with the width. I did have to go a size larger than I normaly wear in a shoe. Feb 17, 2014
Reply to Gary Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Nazruddin A: These are roomier than my previous pair of Alpinestar sport touring boots, which were very similar in construction and style. I wear a pair of cotton Haynes socks and a pair of Gerbing heated socks at the same time, and there is still room in the toe box area and are very comfortable. My feet are average size in width and these boots are roomy without feeling loose. The previous pair were a bit tight when using 2 pairs of socks. Feb 16, 2014
Reply to Nazruddin Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Haroon R: I have a relatively wide foot and it fits well. Just a word of caution- the boot takes a little long to break-in, so it may be a tight fit initially esp if you have long riding hours on the saddle, but will eventually open up. Make sure you select the right size. My regular shoe size is a 45, but with this boot I went with a 46 due to the wide foot Feb 16, 2014

John M: The sizing was a little off for me so I had to go a half size large. Seems to have plenty of width but I do not have a particularly wide foot. Revzilla was very easy to work with on an exchange. Hope this helps. Feb 16, 2014

chris p asked: I am trying to decide between getting the Alpinestars "Web Gore-Tex" and the "New Land GTX". Key differences I could see are the heights (New Land is shorter, which is like) and the velco/zipper mechanism is different (The Web seems to stay closed better). From the pictures, the finish looks different, with the New Land having a less glossy look which I like (looks less like a rain boot).

Both are Gore-Tex and usually the Web costs more ($249 vs $229) but it is on sale now for $199. I like the price but not sure about the height as I'm used to the mid-length boots.

Anyone used or tried on both boots and can comment on the differences in comfort, durability, breath-ability, etc? I'm slightly leaning towards the New Lands, but the $199 price for the Web boot is hard to pass up.

Haroon R: I dont have experience with the New Land, but the Alpinestarts Web-Gore-Tex is an absolutely wonderful touring boot. I tour around the world and have ridden it in rain, extreme cold as well as scorching heat. It has been outstanding. Since I have bikes in 2 different cities, I recently bought a second Web Goretex. Its built robust and takes a lil longer to break-in, but is very comfortable. My earlier boot was the BMW touring biker boot which I used for a good 10 years, but BMW boots are getting too pricey, while this AStar boot is full value for my money.

I hope my inputs if of help to you.

Wayne T: I've only worn the Web's, and not the latest version. I bought the new version as replacements for my 9year old Webs ( aprox 55,000 miles on them). They still don't leak and and arn't ready to be retired. They are very comfortable- both riding and walking. Both are the same height which gives good support The only differances are that the new ones zip & close on the inside of your leg vs old (outside) and the tread on the sole is a different pattern. I have been extremely pleased with them, which is why I bought the replacements while they were available and on sale.

Gary R: Chris, I recently bought a pair of the Alpinestars Web Gore-Tex boots. I Live in NH so I haven't had a chance to wear them riding (the weather ended the season early here). I can tell you that the finish isn't shiny - the boot does not look like a rain boot at all - looks like a regular leather boot. I prefer the mid calf height so my riding pants don't leave a gap between the top of the boot and the bottom of the pants under any circumstances - even more important in the rain! I don't have any experience with New Land GTX boot. Jan 3, 2014

Huang C: Chris,
I Have never seen New Land GTX, while owning two pairs of Web Gore-Tex. Contrary to your like, I need taller boots to insert knee-sheen guard, not mentioning they keep water &/or rain from getting in better than shorter ones. Web Gore-Tex don't look glossy at all. They are light and fit me comfortably, and feet never get wet in them no matter how heavy rain. Though easy to walk around in them, yet better not to, as their soles wear off quick. I like Web Gore-Tex very much.
Good Luck,

Lillo B: Only used the alpine star boots. They fit very well and are comfortable. But don't ventilate as well as i would have liked. so they are a decent waterproof boot for the money but still get hot like any other leather boot in 90+ temps. As reference i have used sidi sport boots that i love, so for the price these aren't bad. i do miss toe sliders cause the soles are no match to the road. but these are not designed for that sort of thing. David H: Not familiar with the other boot but very happy with the Alpinestars. I prefer a mid length boot and this one works very well. I use it as my everyday colder weather footgear. Good value for the money. Jan 2, 2014

A shopper asked: How thick is the toe box on this? Will it work with a sports bike? Apr 30, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The toe box on the Alpinestars Web Gore-Tex Boots is slightly larger than say a Supertech-R, however, the boots should still be able to function well on a sport bike. May 7, 2013
