If wide go long. I ordered according to Revzilla's sizing chart (44 for a size 10# but found that I needed more width and length. I wear a 10 tending toward a wide but not in all shoes. Could be that the Gore-Tex liner takes up space than other boots but the AlpineStars size chart was more accurate for me. Returned the 44's, reordered size 45 and all is well. Great boot for the price, comfortable #will be more so with break-in) from the start, reasonable height for good protection of shin and ankles. Been through a lot of MC boots and these are in my top two. April 3, 2014
Excellent boot Very pleased with these boots. I wear a 11.5 and found the size 46 to be a ferfect fit. I also have a wide foot and found the toe box to be just right. After wearing them for the last month and ridding almost 1000 miles I can and do highly recommend them. April 2, 2014
comfortable. I have only had these for about two weeks and have only logged approx. 200 miles but so far they are very comfortable right out of the box. I wear a size 81/2 shoe and ordered the 42, man what a perfect fit! I am not exaggerating when I say I am tempted to wear these boots everywhere I go. No rain yet but I am sure with the design and the Gore-tex that won't be a problem. Excellent price for what I believe to be a great boot. March 28, 2014
Sturdy and comfortable out of the box Boot feels quite sturdy and didn't take much time to get worn in and it's quite comfortable. The top portion is quite spacious for me and it almost feels like the boot is too big for my feet but it still takes a bit of effort to take off so I don't think there's much risk of it coming off during an accident unless the leg itself fails...gore, I know but that's why we buy these boots. The quality seems to be quite good. Haven't had a chance to test it out in the rain but I'll take their word for it. The only complaint is that the boot is bulky due to its protective features so it takes a bit of getting used to trying to fit the boot under the shifter. March 24, 2014
Great understated boot for the money! Even though I've been riding for years, this was my first boot purchase. After trying on at least a dozen different pairs from various manufacturers this was the winner. It has all the basic protection, clasic black styling and strength and waterproofing of Gortex. The fit is very good with the use a quality ski boot sock. As stated in the review the sole is fairly stiff but I find it comfortable for short distances. I'm very happy with this boot and wish I hadn't have waited so long! March 18, 2014
Great low cost Gore Tex boots I was looking for affordable Gore-Tex boots that were comfortable yet offered good protection. These fit the bill in all of those categories. Two things to note on fit: 1) I wear a 10.5 in most US sizings and these are 9.5 or 44 European and they fit perfectly. Believe the adjusted sizing reviews you read. 2) I have pretty thin legs so the top of the boot is not very snug. They would easily accommodate someone with much larger calves. Not a problem, per se, but it was a bit weird to get used to the fact that they won't crank down on my legs near the top of the boot. That said, they were comfortable out of the box, I wore them for 12+ hours this past weekend and they were still comfortable at the end of the day. I think models with buckles have an advantage, but couldn't find any Gore-Tex ones at this price point. The zipper and velcro system these offer work just fine, but I can see how the more expensive models might be easier to get in and out of and assure a more snug closure. That seems to be the key trade off with the low cost here. I'm happy with it, but you might want to consider that when making a decision yourself. March 17, 2014
Gore Tex Riding Boots for $200 Got em at close out pricing, Gore tex boots for $200 how can you go wrong. Still Winter here in Maine so no chance to ride in them yet. Fit was spot-on using Revzilla size chart. Quite comfy worn around the house. My wife says they are ugly but what does she know anyway. March 17, 2014

Is it possible to get the height of ALL the boots added to the descriptions and/or videos?
For me, it would be good to know before placing an order.

Goldwing1: The height in the back is 11 inches. They curve gently upward forward so that the height at the shin is around 12 inches from the ground. I have a pair of SIDI waterproof boots (for winter riding) and SIDI Evo-airs for dry summer riding, and with these boots standing side-by side on the shelf they're pretty much exactly the same. As an aside, the SIDIs fit very snug, and the length is slightly too short for me. I much prefer the fit of the TCXs, especially since the looser fit allows one to customize the feel with various insoles. Incidentally, these flow as much air as my Evo-airs, but that's probably because the SIDIs are too snug.

Hope that helps.

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Gary R: I have a D width and they are fine for me. Didn' t have any problem with the width. I did have to go a size larger than I normaly wear in a shoe. Feb 17, 2014
Reply to Gary Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Nazruddin A: These are roomier than my previous pair of Alpinestar sport touring boots, which were very similar in construction and style. I wear a pair of cotton Haynes socks and a pair of Gerbing heated socks at the same time, and there is still room in the toe box area and are very comfortable. My feet are average size in width and these boots are roomy without feeling loose. The previous pair were a bit tight when using 2 pairs of socks. Feb 16, 2014

Haroon R: I have a relatively wide foot and it fits well. Just a word of caution- the boot takes a little long to break-in, so it may be a tight fit initially esp if you have long riding hours on the saddle, but will eventually open up. Make sure you select the right size. My regular shoe size is a 45, but with this boot I went with a 46 due to the wide foot Feb 16, 2014

John M: The sizing was a little off for me so I had to go a half size large. Seems to have plenty of width but I do not have a particularly wide foot. Revzilla was very easy to work with on an exchange. Hope this helps. Feb 16, 2014

chris p asked: I am trying to decide between getting the Alpinestars "Web Gore-Tex" and the "New Land GTX". Key differences I could see are the heights (New Land is shorter, which is like) and the velco/zipper mechanism is different (The Web seems to stay closed better). From the pictures, the finish looks different, with the New Land having a less glossy look which I like (looks less like a rain boot).

Both are Gore-Tex and usually the Web costs more ($249 vs $229) but it is on sale now for $199. I like the price but not sure about the height as I'm used to the mid-length boots.

Anyone used or tried on both boots and can comment on the differences in comfort, durability, breath-ability, etc? I'm slightly leaning towards the New Lands, but the $199 price for the Web boot is hard to pass up.

Haroon R: I dont have experience with the New Land, but the Alpinestarts Web-Gore-Tex is an absolutely wonderful touring boot. I tour around the world and have ridden it in rain, extreme cold as well as scorching heat. It has been outstanding. Since I have bikes in 2 different cities, I recently bought a second Web Goretex. Its built robust and takes a lil longer to break-in, but is very comfortable. My earlier boot was the BMW touring biker boot which I used for a good 10 years, but BMW boots are getting too pricey, while this AStar boot is full value for my money.

I hope my inputs if of help to you.

Wayne T: I've only worn the Web's, and not the latest version. I bought the new version as replacements for my 9year old Webs ( aprox 55,000 miles on them). They still don't leak and and arn't ready to be retired. They are very comfortable- both riding and walking. Both are the same height which gives good support The only differances are that the new ones zip & close on the inside of your leg vs old (outside) and the tread on the sole is a different pattern. I have been extremely pleased with them, which is why I bought the replacements while they were available and on sale.

Gary R: Chris, I recently bought a pair of the Alpinestars Web Gore-Tex boots. I Live in NH so I haven't had a chance to wear them riding (the weather ended the season early here). I can tell you that the finish isn't shiny - the boot does not look like a rain boot at all - looks like a regular leather boot. I prefer the mid calf height so my riding pants don't leave a gap between the top of the boot and the bottom of the pants under any circumstances - even more important in the rain! I don't have any experience with New Land GTX boot. Jan 3, 2014

Huang C: Chris,
I Have never seen New Land GTX, while owning two pairs of Web Gore-Tex. Contrary to your like, I need taller boots to insert knee-sheen guard, not mentioning they keep water &/or rain from getting in better than shorter ones. Web Gore-Tex don't look glossy at all. They are light and fit me comfortably, and feet never get wet in them no matter how heavy rain. Though easy to walk around in them, yet better not to, as their soles wear off quick. I like Web Gore-Tex very much.
Good Luck,

Lillo B: Only used the alpine star boots. They fit very well and are comfortable. But don't ventilate as well as i would have liked. so they are a decent waterproof boot for the money but still get hot like any other leather boot in 90+ temps. As reference i have used sidi sport boots that i love, so for the price these aren't bad. i do miss toe sliders cause the soles are no match to the road. but these are not designed for that sort of thing. David H: Not familiar with the other boot but very happy with the Alpinestars. I prefer a mid length boot and this one works very well. I use it as my everyday colder weather footgear. Good value for the money. Jan 2, 2014

A shopper asked: How thick is the toe box on this? Will it work with a sports bike? Apr 30, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The toe box on the Alpinestars Web Gore-Tex Boots is slightly larger than say a Supertech-R, however, the boots should still be able to function well on a sport bike. May 7, 2013
