Alpinestars Track Leather Pants 4.6 5 11 11
Good Pants I got these from a different vendor, but I want to write a review here anyways. I am 5'10 and i weight 185 without gear. My pants size regular is a 32-33 with a 32 inseam. I have them in a size 50 and they fit fine and zip up to my Alpinestars Atem Jacket perfectly. These are heavy duty track pants with plenty of ventilation. I did a track day at Thunderhill in Northern California on an 80 Degree day and around 90 something on the track and i felt cool riding at speed. My only gripe is comfort around the knees. When i put them on one of the outer bits of the knee pads fold over and will rub my knee raw. If i wore full length under armour leggins or can get a back scratcher to move the pad around a bit it would be perfect. March 13, 2014
These are Great pants I recently purchased a pair of these pants and they are awsome. I am 6' 2" 245 lbs. I went with a size 58. They fit really nice all the way around. Very stylish if you desire that as well. There is really good airflow although I have not tested them in really hot weather, I was able wear them in about 80 degree weather. I did not feel overheated at all. The quality is amazing. I have not been down in these but I can imagine when I do go down I will be more then protected. I definitely recomment this piece of gear!! March 12, 2014
Great Pants I got these because I knew I'd be heading to the track eventually. I wore them occasionally on weekend rides to help break them in. Finally got to use them this past week at the track. They are absolutely great. I managed to pick a size that fit me right—I got a 54 and I take a 36 jeans. They go on snug and take a little getting used to, but 15 mins later you forget you are wearing them. Would I want to walk around in them all day? Probably not, but they're not for going out to the mall now, are they (please don't say yes)? But for my track day they were perfect. Now when I ride with my overpants instead I feel like I'm driving without a seatbelt. Expensive, but they perform phenomenally, and the perfs help keep you from boiling. October 26, 2013
Excellet Crash tested I crashed @ 75 MPH on the racetrack wearing these. I got up and walked away so the really work. They do exactly what they are designed to do. These pants are way cheaper than a skin graft : ) I posted the link to my crash video http://youtu.be/rgQL4o_UXe4 you can see how far I slid in these. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for serious protection. May 13, 2013
Sexy!!! These pants give me a sense of security that have taught me to push harded. I have extended my skill on the track and on the street. Having this level of confidence has only came from the security of the pants. I am now a better rider in all aspects now that I have been able to over come my fear with the security of these quality pants. April 29, 2013
So comfortable The first thing I noticed when I put these on was the comfort factor. You dont get a saggy butt in them either. They just fit! It's a nice change from the cheaper brand I was wearing. Great fit around the knees, keeps the blood flowing. They are just great pants. April 29, 2013
Comfertable except.... I used my tax return to finish my suit and purchased a pair of these in Euro size 58, as im 6'2" 245lbs. Everything fit great, the pants were very comfortable and I felt well protected. The only issue with them is one of the sew lines that attach the stretch panels on the knees to the rest of the pants dig into my knees so bad that after a day of riding that just above my knees are red and raw. Im hoping that some more wears will break them in and this will disappear but as only wearing them once so far this is all ive got. April 15, 2013
Top quality Really comfortable as soon as you get onto the riding position. I cannot go without mentioning about the airflow. Initially I was skeptical about leather pants providing good airflow but this actually made my calves cold on a 70F ride so I am guessing this will definitely keep me cool on a warm day. The quality and finish is top notch and its from the astars list of products so can skip researching about the quality of the leather used. I am in between 32-34 jeans size and I am pretty comfortable in a 34 jeans so I went for a 52/42 pant which is one size larger(US size 36). So the pants do go a size smaller especially if you have a little bigger thighs. Haven't crash tested it, so cannot comment on that and I highly doubt that a brand like astars would let me down. 4stars for "Features" and "Bang for the Buck" as I don't own a track leather pant from any other brand to compare with this. A S asked: Does this product zips 360° with the Celer Jacket, forming a 2-pc suit?
Or it has that hip-back-hip zip?
I´d like to go to the track with them, but I need to be sure it´s 360° zip, and some told me it is and others told me it is not..

Jonathan T: these pants are suppose to be snug, but in your situation you might want to test fit the sizes to see what you can tolerate. eg. smaller size(shorter in length) to make sure waist area is not too loose, or go bigger on the size to have better knee pad position but sacrifice the fitness on the waist area.

i would say maybe try 46 or 48 euro? i can only try to pick the best logical size for you but from past experience best logical size doesn't necessary mean its the best choice, most important is how you feel when you ride in it.

FYI, these pants are suppose to be tugged into the boot so sometimes it'll be ok to get a shorter one as long as the knee pads are not way off where its suppose to be.

Andrew C: I suggest using the Alpine star sizing chart. I was on the edge of a 52 with just my hip measurement being over. As others mentioned..these run small...they wew crushingly small. However I had to jump to a 54 for a better more comfortable fit. Revzilla will work w you! Use the chart as your starting point! They actually sent the 54 so I could compare side by side. Oct 1, 2013

A shopper asked: Is there any waist adjustment on these pants? Mar 22, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The waist of the Alpinestars Track Leather Pants is not adjustable. If you're looking for leather pants with some adjustability in the waist check out the Dainese Delta Pro Leather Pants/Dainese Delta Pro EVO Perforated Leather Pants. Mar 25, 2013
Reply to RevZilla Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Psycho82: There is no waist adjustment on the pants. Based on Alpinestars sizing I would need a size 60.... however I chose a 58 and the pants fit comfortably, not to tight, just right! Hope this helps. Im 6'2" 245lbs btw. Apr 15, 2013

A shopper asked: Are the knee sliders removable? i.e. can these be worn without the sliders? Nov 27, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Alpinestars Track Leather Pants can be worn without the pucks, which means that they are removable. Typically, all track pants have removable/replaceable knee pucks. Nov 28, 2012

Brett G asked: Should I get these pants? My college commute is 54 miles (round trip) which is 60% highway (70+ mph); and I do this 4 days a week. I have all leather gear, but Kevlar pants. Should I upgrade to leather pants or will it be too much for a school environment? They are perforated so maybe they will breathe off the bike. Also I plan to do track days eventually... Feb 6, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Christopher C: I wouldn't use these for daily riding. They are way to uncomfortable for a daily school environment. Your Kevlar pants are just fine. They are great for the track... but even then... a day in them and your knees will be killing you due to where the Kevlar stretch panel seams are. They dig right into just above your knee (a problem I have with my pants each time I go riding) I end up having painful bruises on each knee for 3-7 days after riding. Well hope this helps. Feb 7, 2014
Reply to Christopher Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Robert H: I agree wit Christopher, the knees hurt after 4 or 5 hours at the track. Full suit is best for the track anyway, if you don't like zipper burns :) Feb 20, 2014

I'm not sure but probably a EURO 50 Short would fit you.

A shopper asked: Are these track pants the same as the pants on the 2 piece Carver suit? Jan 15, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Alpinestars Track Leather Pants are similar to the bottom half of the Carver suit, however not exactly the same. The two pants are slightly different aesthetically and also have a different perforation scheme. The Track Leather Pants actually have more perforation when compared to the pants found on the Carver.
