Alpinestars Track Leather Pants 4.4 5 18 18
Good Pants The Alpinestars Track Leather Pants are a high quality, well made pant offering great riding protection. The leather and internal armor are of great quality. The pants tend to fit small. I wear US 30 pans and jeans, so originally tried on a US 30/Euro 46. The waist and thighs were very snug when standing, but in a riding position, the pants would become very tight in the knees to the point of restricting movement. I ordered the US 32/Euro 48 and the fit is better on the bike. The pants are a little looser in the waist and longer in the leg than I would prefer, but when on the bike, the pants to not restrict movement and the thighs are still very snug. October 20, 2014
Great Comfort, Protected well on 45mph Low Side Extremely comfortable, feels safe. Protected me well during a 45mph low side at the track, but the stitches pulled out at the hip on impact. Would have expected the leather to tear or wear through before the stitches came out. Perforation cools very well but not nearly as durable, tore with light abrasion. September 2, 2014
Great Pants and Fit Awesome track pants. They are comfortable, even though they are a bit heavy. But, to me, that's a testament to the amount of protection the pants have to offer. I've worn them on a long track day and a cruise, and they help to add to your confidence as you ride harder. They fit well with my A-stars jacket too. August 13, 2014
Great track and canyon carving pant! Great pair of leather track pants, I'd say sizing is slightly larger when you go by your waist measurement. I am 5'7", 144lbs, 38 in chest, 30 in waist (31 in or so measured at the naval), I went with a 46 euro, 30 us. The pants fit, and they do this comfortably, but I'd say I could've ordered a 44 euro for a tighter fit, but I like the slight extra room so I can wear padded shorts, or a pair of gym shorts underneath. Paired the pants with the Astars Tech Air jacket for a great two piece suit. Would definitely buy them again. July 12, 2014
A must have product good protection There was one review that pretty much nailed. The guy said these are cheaper than having a skin graft and that's very true. So I bought these ASAP. They offer great protection, after a lil bit you don't even feel them on you and you get used to them. They look awesome too get a lot of compliments on them from riders in my club. 2008 GSXR 750 2013 Spyder RSS July 7, 2014
My second pair This is my second pair if these pants. They flow air well and offer great protection for a decent price. Love Astars gear. June 2, 2014
Painful knee stitching sharp edges very distracting. Sad to be giving this bad review. I wore these pants around the house and they warmed up and felt good. But after riding in them a couple of times I have found the knees to have several sharp prickly areas that hurt your skin. Really uncomfortable. Distracting, fidling with them every time I stop. Seems to be where the joins of knee cup and leather are. Maybe some rough stitching combined with sharp ends to excess fabric and reinforcements etc. I have tried to find and adjust the pain points but they cannot be changed. May 12, 2014
Good Pants I got these from a different vendor, but I want to write a review here anyways. I am 5'10 and i weight 185 without gear. My pants size regular is a 32-33 with a 32 inseam. I have them in a size 50 and they fit fine and zip up to my Alpinestars Atem Jacket perfectly. These are heavy duty track pants with plenty of ventilation. I did a track day at Thunderhill in Northern California on an 80 Degree day and around 90 something on the track and i felt cool riding at speed. My only gripe is comfort around the knees. When i put them on one of the outer bits of the knee pads fold over and will rub my knee raw. If i wore full length under armour leggins or can get a back scratcher to move the pad around a bit it would be perfect. March 13, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Adam G: Primarily, the comments regarding the pants staying relatively cool in hot weather when compared to the GP Plus. At the end of the day, I want to be as protected as possible when I feel like wearing leather pants - even though I don't go near the track. I do a good bit of 100 mile freeway runs to clear my head. A S asked: Does this product zips 360° with the Celer Jacket, forming a 2-pc suit?
Or it has that hip-back-hip zip?
I´d like to go to the track with them, but I need to be sure it´s 360° zip, and some told me it is and others told me it is not..

Brett G asked: Should I get these pants? My college commute is 54 miles (round trip) which is 60% highway (70+ mph); and I do this 4 days a week. I have all leather gear, but Kevlar pants. Should I upgrade to leather pants or will it be too much for a school environment? They are perforated so maybe they will breathe off the bike. Also I plan to do track days eventually... Feb 6, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Christopher C: I wouldn't use these for daily riding. They are way to uncomfortable for a daily school environment. Your Kevlar pants are just fine. They are great for the track... but even then... a day in them and your knees will be killing you due to where the Kevlar stretch panel seams are. They dig right into just above your knee (a problem I have with my pants each time I go riding) I end up having painful bruises on each knee for 3-7 days after riding. Well hope this helps. Robert H: I agree wit Christopher, the knees hurt after 4 or 5 hours at the track. Full suit is best for the track anyway, if you don't like zipper burns :) Feb 20, 2014

Jonathan T: these pants are suppose to be snug, but in your situation you might want to test fit the sizes to see what you can tolerate. eg. smaller size(shorter in length) to make sure waist area is not too loose, or go bigger on the size to have better knee pad position but sacrifice the fitness on the waist area.

i would say maybe try 46 or 48 euro? i can only try to pick the best logical size for you but from past experience best logical size doesn't necessary mean its the best choice, most important is how you feel when you ride in it.

FYI, these pants are suppose to be tugged into the boot so sometimes it'll be ok to get a shorter one as long as the knee pads are not way off where its suppose to be.

Andrew C: I suggest using the Alpine star sizing chart. I was on the edge of a 52 with just my hip measurement being over. As others mentioned..these run small...they wew crushingly small. However I had to jump to a 54 for a better more comfortable fit. Revzilla will work w you! Use the chart as your starting point! They actually sent the 54 so I could compare side by side. Oct 1, 2013

A shopper asked: I am looking for a pants with good protection, which I think this one has. But I have to consider riding tempetures of 90F - 104F (winter)
Has anybody experienced these pants in particularly warm tempetures, and how did they feel?
I understand they come with knee pucks, but do they also come with leather patches to replace with after removing the knee pucks?
If not, is it possible to get the leather patches?

CJ I: I wear them all year round in California. I've never been bothered by wearing these pants during the hot days in summer. I also wear a full leather jacket as well. I do sweat, but I just make sure to stay hydrated.

Another thing I found is, I can wear shorts under these pants as well. And as for the knee pucks, I removed them. They just velcro onto the pants. So you are just left with velcro exposed, but it's fine that way.
Hope that helps.

Allen C: The pants DO NOT come with leather patches to replace the knee sliders, but I have used these pants in both hot and cold weather, and they keep my body temperature very stable. When it is hot, my legs are never sweating, when it is cold, my legs are never freezing. Also, yes they do offer very good protection as well as flexibility. Very comfortable in both temperatures. A shopper asked: Which pads can be upgraded? I am especially concerned about the possibility of non- CE "comfort foam" in the hip area. Sep 1, 2013

Oscar P: I am considering these pants; which armored shorts are you using for this pants? Does the armor in the shorts you use interfere with the "soft comfort foam padding" that already comes in the pants? (Does it make it too bulky) May 18, 2014
A shopper asked: Is there any waist adjustment on these pants? Mar 22, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The waist of the Alpinestars Track Leather Pants is not adjustable. If you're looking for leather pants with some adjustability in the waist check out the Dainese Delta Pro Leather Pants/Dainese Delta Pro EVO Perforated Leather Pants. Mar 25, 2013
Reply to RevZilla Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Christopher C: There is no waist adjustment on the pants. Based on Alpinestars sizing I would need a size 60.... however I chose a 58 and the pants fit comfortably, not to tight, just right! Hope this helps. Im 6'2" 245lbs btw. Apr 15, 2013

A shopper asked: Hi,

I bought this pants size 52 and have a doubt around the knee protection. My height is 6 foot 194 lbs. The knee protection feels a bit low. When I bend my knee, the white alpinestars logo is on the center of the knee and not that seam which is below. The other thing is that protector top edge bruises the knee when walking. Is it typical or the pants are too long? (Size 50 would be too small for me on the thighs and the waist).

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Alpinestars Track Leather Pants are similar to the bottom half of the Carver suit, however not exactly the same. The two pants are slightly different aesthetically and also have a different perforation scheme. The Track Leather Pants actually have more perforation when compared to the pants found on the Carver.
