Alpinestars Thermal Tech Socks
Not what I was expecting
Probably I was expecting really warm socks. These are not. I rides with them on 40s and I needed another pair of socks under those. I really think any ski socks will work better.
I used them only 3 or 4 times and both socks are full of broken threads all the way up from the bottom to the top between the line of 2 different colors.
To me,to sum up, they are not warm enough and a poor quality product.

I have owned a pair of these for months now, and they fit really well, do not shrink in the wash, and do not get little fuzzballs on them after washing. They are holding up better than two other more expensive pairs I bought along with them. I plan to order more of these. I wear them regardless of the weather with my Dianese TRQ Tour boots.

Not as thick as I expected
The word "thermal" in the name of these caused me to believe that they'd be somewhat thick. They are not. Regardless, they are still somewhat warm, but not for really cold weather ridiing without supplementing with another thicker sock.

Wasted my money
I have some other alpinestar tall socks and like them fine.
I ordered L/XL (like my other tall alpinestar socks which fit fine) and when I got them I tried them on. HUGE on my feet, like 4 sizes too long at least. I generally wear about 12.5 US. In looking at the packaging it turns out they are L/XXL. But the length would fit size 16 easy. So super bunchy for my 12.5 feet. Very uncomfortable (too uncomfortable to wear)
And the calf portion is skin tight even though my calfs are embarrassingly skinny. Can't imagine who these socks could fit.
In addition there are threads pulling out all over the socks, even without me having worn them.

Good Warmth with Minimal Bulk
I bought these to replace the traditional hunting-style socks I used to wear in cold weather, which made my Alpinestars S-MX 5 boots fit a bit too snug for maximum comfort. These Alpinestars socks are the perfect solution, they offer me comparable warmth but are considerably thinner and give my feet more room to breathe. Like all compression-type socks they fit quite snugly on the calves, but the foot area is just right for my size 11 feet. Pricing is as good or better than many competitors' comparable socks, so I give these a thumbs up!

Best riding socks
Went for a 50 miles ride today with these socks. Simply amazing! Fit well and extremely comfortable. Reach up to my knees. Felt sense of well being in my lower legs long after I took them off. Highly recommend.

I have a few pairs of the summer weight Pro Coolmax socks, which I've really enjoyed, so when the temperatures started to drop I thought I'd give the winter pair a try. I'm not sure if I was epecting more warmth or what, but they really don't provide any significant amount of warmth. They're okay, but I would have a hard time even calling them good over any pair of ski/snowboard socks.
Went with the same sizing as my summer socks, and they were a lot larger than I expected. Anyways, I still believe in the power of great socks, but these came up short in my book. May have to up the ante a little bit and spring for a nicer pair.

Does what its supposed to do and good Snug Fit!
Its a set of socks. What else is there to say?? They're warm, fit nice and snug with good compression on the calves. They fit right up to your knee. I am a size 11.5 shoe size and got the L/XL. Perfect fit. Alpinestars size charts are spot on. Make sure you know what your size is and use the size charts before ordering your own. I received mine as a present and didn't purchase it on Revzilla. however, I like them so much, i will be ordering a couple more pairs here on Revzilla. As always Revzilla is awesome selection, fast shipping and outstanding customer service.
