Alpinestars Thermal Tech Socks

Keeping your feet warm and dry when the temperature dips, the Alpinestars Thermal Tech Socks are constructed of a warm, breathable and moisture wicking material to hold in body heat while allowing moisture to evaporate. Antibacterial properties allow your socks to stay funk free no matter how long you ride.

Features:

  • Warm and breathable moisture wicking knit fabric
  • Nostatex , silver yarn, sole for wicking moisture away from skin and giving an anti-bacterial, non odor, layer which conducts heat uniformly around the skin surface to reduce hot-spots
  • Ribbed design reduces bunching at the heel and ankle and increases riding comfort
  • Knee length design for ultimate coverage and comfort

warm & comfortable
Overall, the socks are great for cold weather riding. They are a bit long, as they almost cover my knees, but I found that it's better to cover too much of my legs than not enough, especially in cold weather. Nevertheless, they stay warm and dry. Great product.

Best riding socks
Went for a 50 miles ride today with these socks. Simply amazing! Fit well and extremely comfortable. Reach up to my knees. Felt sense of well being in my lower legs long after I took them off. Highly recommend.

Good mild to cold weather sock
I have been wearing the Alpinestars Summer racing stock and I really like them, so I thought I would try these for when the weather got a little colder. I've ridden wearing these once or twice in 30*F-80*F degree weather and they seem to work well in either temp range, I probably wouldn't wear them if the temps are in the upper ranges, but on one of my rides, it started out really cold and warmed up later in the day. We also went through some elevation changes which contributed to the large temperature delta.

Not as thick as I expected
The word "thermal" in the name of these caused me to believe that they'd be somewhat thick. They are not. Regardless, they are still somewhat warm, but not for really cold weather ridiing without supplementing with another thicker sock.

Not what I was expecting
Probably I was expecting really warm socks. These are not. I rides with them on 40s and I needed another pair of socks under those. I really think any ski socks will work better.
I used them only 3 or 4 times and both socks are full of broken threads all the way up from the bottom to the top between the line of 2 different colors.
To me,to sum up, they are not warm enough and a poor quality product.

These are great!
These thermal socks are the best I have purchased - While I live in a failry temperate place (Perth in Western Australia) it gets relatively cold for us here and I get really cold feet. I have tried a number of thermal options prior to these Alpine Stars ones, and these are by the best by far.

Perfect fit and perfect warmth
They work, they run true to the size chart. They look good but who sees socks? If winter wasn't getting ready to wind down I'd buy another pair to have more. My feet do not sweat in them at all that I can detect. Nice and dry.

pricey, but they get it done
I never thought I'd spend this much for a pair of socks, but it's worth it to me to be comfortable when I'm riding to work in the cold. These socks alone get the job done at freezing temps for about a 60 min high way ride above 65mph. Above freezing they are all I need. But since I have a longer commute than that, at colder temps I find heated gear is still needed. Once I'm at work, I can wear these all day with my gore-tex riding/hiking boots and my feet are dry and comfortable and temperature neutral. In fact, I don't even think about them when wearing them which just goes to show how well they work.

Gotta stay warm during winter time.

Great socks for a long ride in Jan '16 from San Antonio to Key West and back! I bought a few pairs, rotated them - washing one in camp or at the hotel and giving it a couple of days to dry out fully before wearing them again and again. Kept my feet warm on the cold and rainy days (my boots and pants kept me dry, thankfully!)

I like the summer racing socks enough that I thought I'd give these a try. They work well in the fairly mild temps we get here in So California. I think an active solution would be better for much colder climates.

Phenomenally comfortable socks for under boots. Warm, but not sweaty. Good height--right up to the knee. And, they're not nearly as expensive as their competitors. I've been using these for a few years now.

Michigan during late spring is low 40's in the morning and 70's in the afternoon. Looked for alternative to insulated riding pants over jeans and there bulk. These work on the cooler morning without the need for over pants.

Wonderful. I love these socks for when I ride. They dump all the heat on hot days and they stay dry. On cold days they help out more then any normal shoe sock would. I will be getting more of them later.

These are simply the best socks for winter riding. With my Sidi boots my feet never get cold even in 30's. Yo ucan also wear them when it is warmer, but go with A/P summer socks once it gets over 80 degrees.

can anyone tell me if the sm-md are too small for 9.5 feet? I don't want to cram huge socks into 44 boots
A shopper on Oct 19, 2014
BEST ANSWER: These are the best socks I have ever purchased. The sizing is the same as your usual boot - the large would be better for someone with a 44 sized boot
What is the sizing for these socks? Could you please take a look at the package? I can't seem to find the sock sizing anywhere on the internet, thank you!
A shopper on Nov 23, 2013
BEST ANSWER: No longer have the package and I don't remember. sorry
