Great bag for short trips and commute
I was looking for a stylish and functional bag for weekend trips that would fit my Monster 796 until I found this bag. The bag is well constructed and holds enough for a 3 day trip. It can be easily expanded for additional capacity by undoing a zipper on the main compartment. Transparent plastic window on top holds iPhone with GPS and has integrated rain cover. Performed extremely well on a Montreal to NYC weekend trip.
Came with a bunch of nylon straps with quick releases in different configurations. I took the straps to a tailor and had them re-cut custom for my bike (see attached pic), cost 20 bucks to do and now it fits perfectly on the bike. I think it looks way cleaner and stylish than the extremely overpriced Ducati OEM tank bags.
Doubles as a backpack and can be unzipped from mounting pad, mounting pad also has magnets for metal tanks. I read somewhere on the internet that some Monster owner with a plastic tank went as far as to buy super strong magnets and glue them underneath the tank plastic covers so he could use this bag with the magnets as a mounting option.

Quality but small
The bag looks and feels great but I wish it was 2 inches larger. Build quality is solid, I especially appreciate the waterproof zippers but I have a little bit of a struggle getting my laptop into this thing. Magnets work great and there's an extra latch that attaches to the handlebars just in case. Great for short trips, not so sure about touring.

It's Big, well made, and hard to use as a backpack
I ride a Triumph 800, and the base of this bag is much bigger than my tank so it folds around, which means that you cannot stuff the bag full. It is a very big bag and well constructed with a huge open main pouch and several side pouches. A good rain cover is included, and the map pocket is small but useable.
The only feature that is poorly thought out is the back pack, which is a deal breaker for me, especially considering that the marketing compares it to Alpinstars great backpacks. You have to finagle a very tight zipper to separate the bag from the base to access the straps. Adn there is no sternum strap or waist strap, so it's not really a backpack, but a simple knapsack for short convenience.
And You would think it was cool to have the nifty base with its separate map pocket there on your bike, but now 1) it took you forever to separate it, and will take forever +10 to get it back together, so load and go it ain't, and 2) There's something left on your bike to either secure or kiss goodbye to a creative thief.
Over all, again it's well made and very big, but its just too hard to use.

I've put in it a lot of things - for few days business trip - and it was very comfortable to have all this things not on my back, but on tank.

Nice Bag, a little overpriced
I was looking for a tankbag/backpack combo that didn't look ridiculous as a backpack, and this fit the bill well. Not a ton of organization inside, and the laptop sleeve seems pointless (no way I can actually finagle a 15" laptop in there without the bag being totally empty first, but the build quality and styling is typical A* and while smaller than a normal backpack, this is an actual backpack and I don't feel like I'm hauling a purse around. The fabric is rigid enough to work well as a tankbag, and although the magnets don't work well on my WeeStrom, there are plenty of strapping options. The zipper connection between the pack and base is a little awkward, but I think this will improve as I use the pack more and the fabric breaks in a bit. Vastly overpriced, but there isn't a lot of competition either. This is a fairly big tank bag and might interfere with tight, parking lot turns on some bikes with big tanks (i.e. the VStrom).

Good quality, but useless !
I ride a BMW F800GS and unfortunately it does not fit on my bike... No way to installs it!
Now I have a nice back pack, but still needing a good tank bag... I'm very frustated with this buy :-(

Good looking for a tank bag
Got one for my Monster (plastic tank) and love the sleek design. Needed some storage but did not want some big bulky bag. At first I use the supplied straps to secure it to the tank, but did not like the idea of the straps and buckles lying on the cylinder head and air box. So I got a pack of 1" tri-glides ($4.00) and strapped it to the frame, worked really good. With all the quick releases it makes it easy to fuel up and clean under it. The removal of the bag as a back pack is pretty cool feature, the pad stays on the tank and acts as a map pouch. It also has pretty big expansion panels if needed to fit more stuff.

Dig This Bag.
I Really Dig This Bag cause
Its a Convertable tank bag that can be turned into a sling/messenger bag or even back pack. It has 4 strong magnets that attach to the tank and a handle bar strap with a quick release buckle to take your bag on and off with ease when leaving your ride. Also has straps to strap the bag to your bike if it is nonmagnetic. Uses Waterproof zippers on all compartments. Great see through front pockect to place print out directions in. Great overall design. 3 side compartments, 1 main chamber with ziparound expansion and 1 front see through compartment. also magnetic back panel zips off to reveal back pack straps. This Thing is thing is definetly Vesitlie.

The Alpinestars Tech Aero Tank Bag will not fit a full face helmet. It does have magnets at its base, that will mount to your CBR 250 as long as your tank is metal. If there are any nonmetal covers on the tank, they will have to be removed in order for the magnets to stick to the tank. A second tank bag option is the Firstgear Silverstone II Tank Bag. It will hold a full size helmet and does have the magnetic base to stick on your tank.

I can't directly attest to that, but I wouldn't count on using the sleeve. The pocket is too large compared to the size of the pack and doesn't give much, making insertion really tough unless the bag is empty. There's no real padding anyway, so I'd just use whatever padded sleeve you already have. Depending on the contours of your tank, you may not have a nice flat area to place the laptop, so keep that in mind too.Age: 25-34

We tested the Alpinestars Tech Aero Tank Bag on a 2011 GS (not GSA) and found it to be too large. The slope of the tank makes it awkward for a large tank bag, so we would recommend sticking with something with a lower profile. We would suggest the Chase Harper Compact 750 tank bag as an alternative as it has a smaller footprint and will be less cumbersome.

Another tankbag to consider is the Givi T489 Tankbag, which also has a low profile and would suit the Aprilia style.
