I bought these boots for a 5 day trip from vegas in the desert. They offer huge protection... I came down hard more times than I can remember on a rented DR, and these boots are armor plate for your from shins down. 120 degree heat, not a problem.
When I came back to CT I rode out on my 800GS without adjusting the switchgear: HUGE mistake. These boots are thick at the toe and have very little ankle flexibility. You have to adjust your gear shift leave to accommodate the toe to upshift.
Second issue that is a bit of a pain is that they are not fast to put on. 4 buckles, all need to be adjusted, takes for ever. Not a boot you throw on to jump on the bike for a short trip. These are riding boots, not walking boots.

for the money great boot
My first pair of riding boots. It took a little while to get use to them but after a couple hours riding i will never wear my work boots again. Had problems shifting at first but I learned.

Very stiff out of the box, but they seem to be breaking in nicely. Took a bit of getting used to with the thick soles, but everything is working fine now.

Quality materials, great fit and value.
The materials and workmanship of the boots impressed me. Adjustable latches work very well. The boots are very stiff and allow very little ankle movement out of the box. This provides a lot of protection.
Two days after purchasing the Tech 3 boots I crashed on pavement at 40mph. The boots held up superbly, with very little wear. My feet and ankles had no injuries.
I would recommend the Tech 3 boots.

Happy I bought them
Bought these in advance of a 400 mile dual sport ride. Initially I thought the lack of feel coming through the boot would make shifting and braking difficult. After 20 miles it was as normal as always. Got them soaked on a river crossing the first day, but they dried nicely in the hotel. Second day was great and it is a very comfortable boot. Very glad I bought them.

Robert A: Good price for lots of protection. FYI when they say not waterproof they mean it. I figured they wouldn't be that bad in the rain but boy was I wrong! Foot was swimming in water. If you're not looking for water protection though its a great boot.Sep 29, 2014
