I use these gloves for everyday riding and I have worn a hole in the leather of the right the right palm. Also the stitching there has come undone. I would hate to see how these gloves would hold up in the event of a crash. The gloves run on the small size. I am normally an XL but the fingers were short. I love the design and the comfort but wished more thought was put into the construction of the palm area.

The fit is slightly small. I normally wear meds or larges. With Astar I have to get XLs to fit just right. Venting is great. Protection is great. Closures are very secure. Dexterity is good, I can still work zippers with this glove. Great for summer / hot weather and will be okay if you get caught in a little rain.

I have owned these gloves for three years now. I have to say I was hesitant about spending this much on a pair of gloves at first, but as many come to find out with high tech gear, you really get what you pay for. These gloves offer pro level protection, great styling and well, fit like a glove. I wear these daily and they seem to get more and more comfortable with use and wear. I guess you could spend half as much on a cheaper pair, but you'll end up having to replace them at least yearly I'm sure. After 3+ years of use I don't see any signs of seam tearing or falling apart in anyway. I'm sure I'll get another 2-3 more years out of them easy.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Took about a week of use to break in, but once they do these gloves fit well with decent ergonomic articulation and extremely high-end gauntlet protection. They are a track glove at heart though, and as such, there is a trade off in comfort for protection. I can only wear them for about an hour before my hands start to get sore around the knuckles. I would not recommend these for daily use, but if you are a frequent track-day hero, these offer excellent style and protection for the price.

I had to buy a size 2XL in order to fit, although I usually wear a size XL for other gloves. Not a very durable gloves I would say, the leather wears off quite easily.

I bought these gloves for track riding. I crashed once where I slid (minimal impact). The road quickly shredded the threads holding the fingers together. This is due to the threads being on the outside and not the inside. The leather doesn't have that much rash, but the threads were destroyed quickly. Plain and simple...a poor design. Dainese has gloves with the stitching on the inside, which I can bet is much more durable. I'll try them next and see how they work. This is a comfortable glove, but I have no faith in it if I end up sliding. A lot of protection on the top of the hand, but your palms are seriously at risk with these gloves.

Those are my firts racing gloves, so I have no experience with other brand's products. But, as far as I feel, those are really good gloves. They have so many different ways of protection that is difficult not to feel safe with them, and all these without being bulky at all. They are uncomfortable in the left pinky, but it is more because of the size of my finger that for the structure of the glove. On the cons, in the intructions say the gloves could not get wet because it'll affect their strenght and durability; if so, for the price they charge, they could do something to improve the leather's resistant to the water. Any how, I recomend this product.

It seems that the obvious answer is "Yes" but I figured it was worth asking. I'm a Small in the SP-1, so I'm assuming I'd be a Small in the GP Pro...

I was recently at the U.S. Red Bull Grand Prix and was able to take a look at the top of the line Alpinestars gloves, try them on, etc. However, for a high priced glove I was perplexed that they would be made in China. Why would a solid brand such as Alpinestars produce out of China? I have a hard time trusting things made from China.

Answer:
As a long time user of Alpinestars gear I think I can answer your query. First off, I challenge anyone to look around them and not be able to see something they use on a daily basis that isn't produced in China. From clothes to cell phones, from computers to carbon bike parts you name it, it's most likely made there. And why is that? Because it's cheaper labor costs.

That said, what makes brands like Alpinestars and any other high end brand great? Two words - Quality Control. China has the largest number of people working in the worlds largest factories producing an unimaginable amount of products. What determines what comes out at the end of the day is the 'Quality Control' overseen by the company that has hired the factory to produce their products.

So when you break it down in a global view, it doesn't really matter wether your gloves come from Italy, France, Mexico, China or the good ol' US of A. As long as they are well designed in the first place and the 'Quality Control' is tight, you should be good.

Answer:
I too have trouble supporting brands that export all of their labor to China. That said, I have these gloves and they have held up to several crashes quite well. They are a bit tight in the palm if you have wider palms, but good everywhere else. I am going to grab some Rev'It Jerez gloves for next race season. Much more comfy with similar protection features.
