Alpinestars GP Plus Gloves 4.4 5 74 74
Great Gloves I normally wear a Medium in gloves but with Alpinestars the sizing is more European. I went a size up to a Large and they fit perfect. They are super soft and comfortable. Will definitely stay in this line of products from now on. November 2, 2015
All that I wanted in my glove and then some! I am loving these gloves, they arrived very soon after ordering then and I eagerly opened up the package and used them to go out riding. I love the mean racing look of these gloves. I wanted gloves that would protect my hands and wrists on the street and on the track, these gloves did not disappoint! I am glad that I watched the video especially when it came to the sizing of Alpinestars gear. they fit great and are very comfortable. I really like all the protection they have along the top, sides, and palm of the hand and after watching the video I really like the third and fourth fingers being stitched together. the full Kevlar lining is also great and a very good idea to me to have in them. they are a little pricey but well worth the money. Gear up for the slide, not the ride! October 19, 2015
Great protection, great looking, runs small I bought these GP Plus gloves to replace my last pair, which were about 10 years old. I wore those till my first fingers were sticking out of them, and Im sad to see that pair go! They fit perfectly, although the fingers were long for me First the good: these are great, well made gloves. Heavy duty leather and protection where needed. The palms and underside of the fingers is very light and flexible and feel good on the controls. They've added more plastic doo-dads than my old pair had, although Im not sure how much they help in a crash, Im assuming they are there for a reason. The styling is great, and needless to say they look pretty cool. My last pair lived through one low-side - many years ago - with barely a mark on them. These appear to have better protection. Im hoping I dont need to find out, but feel good about their ability to protect. The not so good: As pretty much every reviewer has mentioned, these things run small. I have a smaller hand, but my palms are pretty big. I decided to get mediums, as that was the size of my old GP Plus gloves. As feared/expected, these gloves fit pretty tight overall. I cant really go larger, as the fingers are already a little too long. (A side note.....why dont they offer motorcycle gloves in cadet sizes, which are made for larger palms and shorter fingers?!?) Ive ridden these a few times, and they do seem to be stretching a bit, so Im hoping with time they will mold to my hand. The worst complaint I have is with an inside seam that runs along the outside of my thumb/the side of the hand, and goes down over the muscle of the thumb to the wrist. This seam presses painfully on the muscle. Initially it caused a bad ache there, but that seems to be lessening as the glove stretches. I dont love the new plastic piece at the bottom of the palm either, which Im guessing is there as a slider, but makes the base of the palm area feel stiff and inflexible. As I do the occasional track day and more aggressive riding, Ill be keeping these for the protection, and praying they stretch! I would give 5 stars if these fit great out of the box, but as it is Im giving them 4 stars. October 14, 2015
Amazing gloves I love these gloves. They had the best protection in my price bracket and have held up well over the last year. I have ridden in all temperatures (Europe winter through to Nor Cal summer) and they provide good ventilation as long as you are moving. My only complaint has been that the right hand wrist adjustment pad plastic has come away from the velcro pad. A little bit of glue to get it back in place but didn't expect this from a glove of this price. Apart from that highly recommended! September 17, 2015
Great glove! I really dig this glove, but just be aware that it takes a little riding before it gets good and broken in. Lots of features here to protect your hand in the event of a crash, and the gauntlets fit nicely over my leathers. I originally bought a medium, because I had another pair of Aplinestars gloves that fit me in medium, but as soon as I tried them on I quickly realized that I needed a large. Return and re-order was quick and painless. September 15, 2015
Sweet gloves, but run a bit small. I've been riding with these gloves for a few weeks now, and they're fantastic. They fit snugly, but not so much as to be uncomfortable, the airflow is adequate for the hot Georgia Summer, and I feel very secure that they won't come apart if I hit the deck. Things weren't always so great though. For the first week or more, these gloves were very tight, even uncomfortably so. They were tight enough that I had white marks on my hands after my 40 minute commute (you know, like when the blood is squeezed out of your skin). It took probably 4-5 hours of ride time for them to get broken in enough to be comfortable, but now they are very comfortable. For sizing, I would say that if you are on the large side of the size range in the sizing chart, just go to the next size up. If you are on the small side or in the middle, then get what the size chart says, just be aware that if you're close to the middle of the range, the gloves will be a little uncomfortable for a couple of rides. And above all else, remember: no glove, no love. July 28, 2015
Great glove Very happy with purchase - exactly what i wanted for track days. July 27, 2015
Nice product I went with XL and the fit is a little tight compared to other gloves I have tried, but they are not uncomfortable. Protection and padding are in the right spots for my hand size and nothing rubs. So far I have done one track day with them and have no complaints. July 19, 2015

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Anthony L: Cause they are the best! Oct 6, 2015
Dane B: No 2nd best on the money makers! They do fit tight...I recommend a size bigger than your normal size. Oct 6, 2015
David B: offers full protection for track use as well as street Sep 28, 2015
Lane S: I chose the Alpinestars because my Joe rocket gloves were coming apart at the seams (less than ten rides) and their sizing was all over the place. I also purchsed ICON gauntlet gloves, also splitting at the seams (less than 5 rides).
A friend of mine suggested the Alpinestars, so here goes... Not gonna hold my breath...

Juan P: Nice glove. Aug 27, 2015
ALLYSON S: the only place that had right size & color Aug 12, 2015
Roderick M: Bang for the Buck in a street/track gauntlet glove. and it matches my leather jacket. lol. Jul 29, 2015
Joshua P: I do ride quite often and get to the track every 2nd to 3rd weekend when I can get away from work. Didnt really require the full spec GP glove, as I dont race every weekend, and to be honest couldnt justify the price compared to this, so chose this for style and comfort, but still having the race protection I need. Jul 26, 2015
John C: I finally wanted to go from my very plain thin leather gloves to a glove with quite a bit more built in protection and I have heard good things about this brand and model. Jun 21, 2015
Jordon W: upgrading from an Alpinestars Thunder glove, which works great for everyday use, but i need something that can handle those canyon carving days with confidence. May 4, 2015
anthony h: I ride a lot of canyons and started doing track days more and needed something a little more than a street glove. These are well worth the money spent they are the most comfortable gloves I have owned even compared to lesser Astar models. They fit really snug but I love that as I want my gear to be my second skin. Would buy these again in an instant. May 1, 2015
Scott B: I like my hands in their current configuration and they seem to have about all the protection a glove could have and still allow freedom of movement. Mar 17, 2015
Ryan S: I picked these gloves up because I didn't own a pair of gloves that provided full protection over the wrist. I track my 2013 Daytona 675 more often and these gloves have been great! They've survived a low-side incident about two weeks after purchase and only a bit scuffed up and it protected my hand/wrist from any road rash. Mar 4, 2015
Benjamin M: My old ones gloves fell apart. These seemed like a good balance between protection and price for canyon carving and an occasional track day. Feb 23, 2015
Steve R: It appears that this glove has both the protection and style points good gloves need. Feb 12, 2015
Leonardo M: Good deal Oct 15, 2014
Jakob V: Great fit, reputable brand, good protection for the price. Sep 9, 2014
james p: I have the Alpinestars, SP3 glove. I now have Alpinestars full leathers and it was time for an upgrade. For the money and the quality and reviews I've seen, this is the glove for me. Jul 12, 2014
Robert N: New Bike pickup on Saturday Apr 22, 2014
O T: Needed new gauntlets to go with my new riding jacket. Alpinestars looks great, fits well, and has held together perfectly the few times I've been down, so why not stick with what I know works. Apr 17, 2014
Sergio M: A good cost / benefit glove for track day and travelling Mar 29, 2014
Eric C: Needed A better set of gloves. Watched the vid. on Revzilla .com . No brainer after that Mar 28, 2014
Nikolay N: Always had those gloves I love them Nov 10, 2013

A shopper asked: How is the longevity of this glove in everyday riding? Does it hold up or will it come apart after a while? I have heard both about Alpinestars. Dec 3, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
A s: Mine have held up well so far. My last pair of Alpinestars gloves lasted for 7 years but my son had a pair in which the seams of the thumb split after a couple of weeks. The quality seems to run hot and cold, if you get a good pair they will last. Their sizing seems to run to the smaller side, if you need a medium, buy a large since these are Kevlar lined they will NOT stretch as much as a non-lined glove. There are very few gloves that offer a pinkie-bridge and these seemed like the best value-for-money of the bunch. I would buy them again, and from Revzilla, knowing that if I got a pair that was faulty that Revzilla would stand behind them. Dec 4, 2013

Wolfgang H: I have been wearing my gp plus gloves everyday for the past 5 months and they have bren rock solid except on my pointer finger on the right glove the stitching came undone. I took my glove to shoe repair store and a lady stitched it up for nothing and its been perfect ever since. I have washed mine three times and from what I can tell it has done no damage. They do not keep my hands warm at all when its cold and the vents dont work that good when its hot but the protection is good and they are comfortable. Dec 3, 2013

A C: ive been commuting with these for about 2 months now and they are pretty comfy after they break in, they seem to be holding pretty well. in my opinion its a bit of a hassle to have 2 straps. i use these when i hit the canyon every week, im only commuting with these because i lost my street gloves. been down with these on once in a minor 40mph lowside minor scratches on the gloves held up pretty well. Mark N: I can't comment on how long the gloves will last as I've only had them for a month. However, I recently took a spilll after hitting diesel in a bend and the gloves came out fine. Sadly the gixxer wasn't quite so lucky. I love the gloves and so far would happily recommend them. Dec 3, 2013

A shopper asked: What kind of longevity in normal everyday riding can one expect form these gloves? How is Alpinestars' long term quality in general compared to others? Dec 3, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
A s: As long as temperature is above 60 I ride, and I wear gloves EVERY time.. I had a pair of Alpinestars SP1 gloves for about 3 years before they needed replacing. The GP Plus I've only had for one full riding season, but there are no signs of wear or tear yet... I expect to get the same amount or more out of these that I got out of the SP1s that I had. Long term everyday riding I think quality and longevity are top notch as I've had other name brand gloves that didn't last as long as the SP1s. Sorry I wish I could reference the GP plus more but I've only had them one season! Dec 3, 2013

Roland H: I have worn mine almost every day for over a year and they are in perfect shape. I tend not to ride in the rain so they are probably in better shape than if I did. The fit has remained the same, the color has not faded except for minor wear. I like them better than other gloves I have used from BMW or Held. My answer might be different if I used them to race or in inclement weather (other than cold weather) as I do not do so. Dec 3, 2013

Jeremy B: These glove in my experience are solely for racing. I have put many miles on these at the track and they are still very ridged and holding up well. After all this time they are just starting to get broken in. These gloves are in my opinion much to rugged to wear for normal casual riding. I would go with a softer more flexible glove. I hope that helps. Dec 3, 2013
Reply to Jeremy Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Behzad N: The glove is great for everyday riding. I've had mine for the last year and ride at least 3 times a week with no problems from this glove. The leather breaks in and becomes softer but the glove is built well and the padding / stress points are built to last. Dec 3, 2013

Kenneth L: I've had these gloves for over 4 months, and I love them. I ride almost daily. The stitching, leather, and every other part is holding up great. I even had a high side in them, and they are still in great condition. Dec 3, 2013

A shopper asked: How does this flow air compared to the GP Pro?

I see that glove is considered "Summer Weather" and this glove is not.

Dec 15, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Randy M: I used this glove this past summer and it does flow some air but it is a cooler weather glove. That said, I am more for protection than comfort and from experience of a low side crash I can say these are really good gloves. My left hand was caught between the handle bar and the road for about 30 yards and they held up 100%. I replaced the gloves after the crash due to scuffing but I bought the exact same glove because I truly know how they hold up. Dec 15, 2013

Isa E: I own both the GP Pro (2012) and GP Plus (2013) and both have similar/identical PU knuckle air vents and areas of leather perforation. The air flow is excellent for both leather gloves. Dec 15, 2013

Shahrukh E: The air flow is actually phenomenal. Never had a problem with it and I wore these in 90Degrees Far + Weather Dec 15, 2013

A shopper asked: I have a medium astars thunder glove and a large wr-3 goretex one as well they both fit great the wr-3 being my cold weather gloves so i know it has thicker lining. With that being said what size should i get the gp plus in? Mar 3, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
CLIFF G: I also wear the med thunder glove and a med Astar SP2, both of which fit nice. I recently purchased a med GP Plus, and it runs a little smaller, so it's more difficult to put on and take off. I haven't had a chance to wear it much, but as of this point it can get a little uncomfortable because it squeezes the side of my hand a little too much. I'm hoping it will break in and be just right. I'm reluctant to go to a large, since the finger length is correct for me with the med.

Make your best guess, luckily Revzilla is good about exchanges.

Mar 3, 2014
Reply to CLIFF Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Alan D: You could probably order the mediums and be fine. I wear an XL in the SMX-2s and I ended up ordering the GP+ in L. If they are too big you can always exchange them, Revzilla's exchanges are hassle free. Mar 3, 2014

Randy M: I would go with a medium in the gp plus. They may fit a little tight but will break in to give the snug fit you are looking for. Mar 3, 2014

A shopper asked: i just got these and they are rubbing on my knuckles. will this go away after the break-in peroid? Nov 27, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Benjamin R: I didn't have any rubbing on my knuckles when these gloves were new. They were fairly stiff in that section until my first track day was done. They loosened up a bit but feel custom fitted. Nov 28, 2013
