Not durable enough in the palm.
I really liked these gloves until I had an incident in them. This weekend at the track I crashed and landed face/belly/palm down in the dirt, bounces and rolled several times. That initial impact was the only time my palms made contact with the ground but it was enough to split the glove wide open and leave 2 nickle sizes holes in my hand. I don't recommend these for serious track riding.

Stitching failed after 150km, otherwise...
Not durable at all unfortunately. I bought all astars gear and wanted the gloves too, was warned these were produced in a less than high quality country, and I wish I had listened and upgraded or bought another brand. Am a beginner rider, have riden lightly around town, these gloves have started tearing at the seems, pictures attached, I'm going to try getting a warranty claim if I still have my receipt, and I'll be upgrading or changing manufacturer. Dissappointing Alpinestars.

Stitching failed / customer service failed
I had these gloves for no time at all, 10 summer rides on local roads, and the stitching failed - finger tip index finger. Outside of the Revzilla return policy. I was advised to contact Alpinestars. 4 emails - no response. I own all Alpinestars gear ,boots, leather track pants ( internal stitching uncomfortable) , Celer jacket (stitching failed & zipper retainer fell off) Again no customer support from Alpinestars. I will try one more time with Customer Service hoping for some help.

Runs small
Just a note on the sizing. They do run very small. I had the Alpinestars SMX2 Air Carbons before in a size medium and it fit very nicely. Got the GP Plus in a medium and it is so small. When I first got them in I could hardly get my hand in. And it would also hurt from being too tight. I thought maybe I needed to break them in so about a week of wearing them they have loosened up a bit but still fit very tight. It is difficult to put your hands through the wrist area. I tried on a pair of Dainese gauntlets in a size small and they fit better. So if you plan on getting these you should get at least a size bigger than normal.

Worth the money, been a great purchase!
I am really happy with my GP Plus gloves. I got the white/red/black version and they look really sharp. The gloves have a lot of safety features (one of the things that attracted me to them) and they help instill confidence in me while I'm out riding. I put a lot of miles on this past season and they held up well, they are easy to put on, and become really comfortable once broken in. They can get a little toasty when it's hotter outside, but there is good air flow and they work in a range of conditions. The white leather does get dirty after a while (so just clean it), but that's been the only gripe so far. Big fan of these - thank you A*!

Great quality and protection
I haven't had these for long so I can't speak to the durability much, but they seem very well made and have great protection for the price.

My hand measures about 8" from palm to end of middle finger, I purchased XL as recommended and these fit right on. A little tight at first but they are breaking in nicely.

I'm impressed with all the features these gloves have, definitely the best I've used yet for this price range. I commute to work and often hit up the canyons on the weekends but these should be great when I get to the track one of these days also. Overall a great buy.

Best Gloves I've Ever Owned
Everything in the review video is true. These gloves are very comfortable and flow air nicely between the fingers. You cant even feel the hard knuckles due to astars top of the line design. Great fit, very comfortable... I highly recommend these gloves.

Saved my pinky.
Lowsided at the track and the gloves did what they were supposed to. Left wrist padding, both palm guards, and right pinky protection(prevents separation) really saved my hands on impact and sliding across the pavement. Damaged now but still wearable and safe. Considering they are not the most expensive pair, the protection and style you get on these are the best bang for the buck when you're on a budget.

These gauntlets are highly rated and offer a superb level of protection. They're certainly made more for sport and/or track day purposes but I use them on the street and i LOVE these gloves. Very comfortable, very protective, and of the highest quality materials.

Least expensive option for uncompromising comfort and protection. They break in well but they take a while to get on and off. After riding with these for 1,000 miles I wont ride without them, I think they add to the strength, stability and control and I ride better with them on. Not to mention you could totally Batman somebody with these babys

I chose the Alpinestars because my Joe rocket gloves were coming apart at the seams (less than ten rides) and their sizing was all over the place. I also purchsed ICON gauntlet gloves, also splitting at the seams (less than 5 rides).
A friend of mine suggested the Alpinestars, so here goes... Not gonna hold my breath...

Roderick M on Jul 29, 2015
I do ride quite often and get to the track every 2nd to 3rd weekend when I can get away from work. Didnt really require the full spec GP glove, as I dont race every weekend, and to be honest couldnt justify the price compared to this, so chose this for style and comfort, but still having the race protection I need.
Joshua P on Jul 26, 2015
I finally wanted to go from my very plain thin leather gloves to a glove with quite a bit more built in protection and I have heard good things about this brand and model.
John C on Jun 21, 2015
upgrading from an Alpinestars Thunder glove, which works great for everyday use, but i need something that can handle those canyon carving days with confidence.
Jordon W on May 4, 2015
I ride a lot of canyons and started doing track days more and needed something a little more than a street glove. These are well worth the money spent they are the most comfortable gloves I have owned even compared to lesser Astar models. They fit really snug but I love that as I want my gear to be my second skin. Would buy these again in an instant.
anthony h on May 1, 2015
I like my hands in their current configuration and they seem to have about all the protection a glove could have and still allow freedom of movement.
Scott B on Mar 17, 2015
I picked these gloves up because I didn't own a pair of gloves that provided full protection over the wrist. I track my 2013 Daytona 675 more often and these gloves have been great! They've survived a low-side incident about two weeks after purchase and only a bit scuffed up and it protected my hand/wrist from any road rash.
Ryan S on Mar 4, 2015
My old ones gloves fell apart. These seemed like a good balance between protection and price for canyon carving and an occasional track day.

Hey, the blue version pictured here is different from the blue version on the alpinestars website, which one is the one that is being sold here? It seems like the picture here might be an older version?
John E on Jun 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hey Roderick, I ordered them anyway, and unfortunately they were the style pictured, with less blue, I also wanted the newer version...
How is the longevity of this glove in everyday riding? Does it hold up or will it come apart after a while? I have heard both about Alpinestars.
A shopper on Dec 3, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Mine have held up well so far. My last pair of Alpinestars gloves lasted for 7 years but my son had a pair in which the seams of the thumb split after a couple of weeks. The quality seems to run hot and cold, if you get a good pair they will last. Their sizing seems to run to the smaller side, if you need a medium, buy a large since these are Kevlar lined they will NOT stretch as much as a non-lined glove. There are very few gloves that offer a pinkie-bridge and these seemed like the best value-for-money of the bunch. I would buy them again, and from Revzilla, knowing that if I got a pair that was faulty that Revzilla would stand behind them.
What kind of longevity in normal everyday riding can one expect form these gloves? How is Alpinestars' long term quality in general compared to others?
A shopper on Dec 3, 2013
BEST ANSWER: As long as temperature is above 60 I ride, and I wear gloves EVERY time.. I had a pair of Alpinestars SP1 gloves for about 3 years before they needed replacing. The GP Plus I've only had for one full riding season, but there are no signs of wear or tear yet... I expect to get the same amount or more out of these that I got out of the SP1s that I had. Long term everyday riding I think quality and longevity are top notch as I've had other name brand gloves that didn't last as long as the SP1s. Sorry I wish I could reference the GP plus more but I've only had them one season!
How does this flow air compared to the GP Pro?

I see that glove is considered "Summer Weather" and this glove is not.

Thanks.
A shopper on Dec 15, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I used this glove this past summer and it does flow some air but it is a cooler weather glove. That said, I am more for protection than comfort and from experience of a low side crash I can say these are really good gloves. My left hand was caught between the handle bar and the road for about 30 yards and they held up 100%. I replaced the gloves after the crash due to scuffing but I bought the exact same glove because I truly know how they hold up.
i just got these and they are rubbing on my knuckles. will this go away after the break-in peroid?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I didn't have any rubbing on my knuckles when these gloves were new. They were fairly stiff in that section until my first track day was done. They loosened up a bit but feel custom fitted.
I have a medium astars thunder glove and a large wr-3 goretex one as well they both fit great the wr-3 being my cold weather gloves so i know it has thicker lining. With that being said what size should i get the gp plus in?
A shopper on Mar 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I also wear the med thunder glove and a med Astar SP2, both of which fit nice. I recently purchased a med GP Plus, and it runs a little smaller, so it's more difficult to put on and take off. I haven't had a chance to wear it much, but as of this point it can get a little uncomfortable because it squeezes the side of my hand a little too much. I'm hoping it will break in and be just right. I'm reluctant to go to a large, since the finger length is correct for me with the med.

Make your best guess, luckily Revzilla is good about exchanges.
