Nice additional protection When riding a motorcycle, protection is never too much. These pads fit perfectly on the jackets and definitely adds a little more protection for the rider. November 17, 2014
Good value - decent protection I bought these to keep in my Alpinestars GP-Plus R jacket and they certainly increase the level of protection for a minimal price. They are comfortable (can't even tell they are there) and don't really take away from the jacket's airflow properties. Its really one of those pieces of gear where its so cheap that there is no reason not to run them. I recently highsided @ about 60mph on the track with these on a but luckily didn't take a chest impact so I can't really comment on how effective they are. October 10, 2014
Great addition to your jacket... Great extra protection for your jacket, fits perfect in the jacket and you don't feel it's there. October 6, 2014
Great addition to A* gear. Others need not apply. I started riding on the track this year, and found through experience that it's REALLY good to have chest protection that's easy to remove between sessions for comfort and cooling. With these pads in the chest pockets built into A* jackets and suits, you get the protection with zero hassle. Just unzip and you're nice and cool. I do wish these were CE rated, but they do appear to be reasonably substantial - similar to other armor I've seen that is rated. Nice bonus is that I can swap them over to my street jacket in less than a minute. Track gear that also works for everyday riding! October 6, 2014
Great Product These are competitively priced and offer very good protection. They are light and I hardly realize they are in my jacket. Definitely worth the money. September 29, 2014
Do yourself a favor My brother got into an accident and ended up going down at 75ish mph. He was wearing an Alpinestars GP Pro leather jacket and it saved him from some serious road rash. Luckily he only walked away with some road rash on his hip and knee. I also have a GP Pro Jacket, and his accident made me think differently about my gear than I did before this happened. The GP Pro and higher tier Alpinestars jackets are definitely some of the best but the back protector and chest protectors and nothing more than a 1/4 inch thick piece of foam. These protectors add some much better protection to your jacket and I would seriously recommend the upgrade. September 8, 2014
good idea it was a bit of an odd concept at first but i quickly cam to like it not only does it offer me good protection in the chest but it also stops my Girlfriend when she is riding pillion from grabbing my chest and squeezing em she got so disappointed on our last ride lol September 6, 2014
Disappears into jacket Can't even tell I'm wearing them. Great airflow and peace of mind. Might as well get them. It's a small amount of $$ for additional protection that other companies don't usually offer. When you pull the OEM foam out of the jacket that comes with it, you know it was a good idea. Darrin K: No real experience with that jacket. I would look around the point where the chest foam is and see if there is a bit of velcro to pull back. That is how other alpinestars jackets work. Dec 28, 2013

Ryan K: yes it does i put it in mine. you can put it in from the bottom between the liner and outside. May 23, 2014

Colt T: I'm pretty sure the answer is no. I just checked my Viper Air jacket and I don't see any way to access the chest protector pieces that come pre-installed in the jacket. And Alpinestars website mentions the following in the description: "Chest and Back protector compartments with PE comfort padding (CE certified Bio Armor back protector insert available as accessory)." If the CE certified chest protectors fit, I think they'd also mention those for a potential cross-sell. Apr 24, 2014

Anthony Y asked: I have recently looked into Force Field armors and they say they have Repeat Performance Technology for their shields. I already spilled once and had an impact on my chest but luckily wearing this Alpine stars Chest Pad. If i spill again, Will the Chest Pad be still effective in protecting me? Jul 16, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Daniel M: I forgot the nomenclature used by the industry but essentially there are two kinds of protection out there, active and passive. Active gear is kind of like an air bag in your car (it hardens on impact and protects you (once) from an accident. In a passive system the construction of the padding/armor provides the protection and will function until worn out or damaged. These are passive pads and have a harder exterior plastic for impacts and to provide durability, and a lighter foam on the back to provide some padding for comfort. As long as they have not been damaged and your jacket not worn through then they should be fine in providing protection during another spill. Jul 16, 2014

Aaron J: Thats probably a question for A* directly. I think it would be fine for multiple crashes unless severly damaged. I don't think of them like a helmet with 1 hit and game over these are more of a basic line of defense. Jul 16, 2014
