Makes the bike look soooooo good
They are super easy to install and like I said above look soo good every one says they look sick. Hopefully never have to use them but hey better safe then sorry. Just for your information you will need a 8 mm Alan key socket and a torque wrench ( also thread lock tight if accessible ) to install ( it needs to be done up to 47 foot pound )
These are not listed in the description but it is very necessary because they will screw into your engine block and if you do not tighten them up enough they will rattle loose and if you do it up to much it might strip your engine block and that will cost you big $$$$.
I hope every one like them as much as I do
Thanks revzilla

Fit my CB500F
Relatively easy to install. Only time I had issues was with the left side engine mount bolt, for some reason I had a hard time getting the frame slider bolt started when trying to screw it in. The bike was parked on the side stand so maybe that had something to do with how the weight of the engine was distributed.....don't try to force it, you don't want to strip the threads in the engine block. Gently putting pressure on the frame where the bolt goes through seemed to help. Material of the frame slider seems good and it looks like it would protect the engine in the event of a low side. Muffler would probably get scratched though. Haven't had to test these out (and I hope I never do) but they look like they would definitely protect most of the bike.

Hiccup at first, better now
This was one of the first things I purchased when I bought my CB500F. I'm a shorter rider and I was worried about dropping the bike and not being able to save it.

2 months after installing these I noticed the left one sheered off deep inside the bolt hole. I never dropped the bike on the left side, and I recall, as another reviewer mentioned, the left side was tough to install. I had to take it to a shop to have them drill the bolt out.

I contacted yoshimura customer service and they sent me a replacement immediately.

Its been about 2 months (not that much riding though, due to it being winter) and the slider is still where it should be.

I went to get gas and stalled out recently and dropped the bike (on the right side). My bar end and brake lever are damaged minimally but the rest of the bike looks fine. Since it was stall out drop my frame slider isn't even marked. Bike looks pretty good.

As others have said, this is really expensive for what they are. The peace of mind though, is worth every penny.

I would recommend and buy again for another bike.

Great sliders!
Very easy installation, only took me about 10 minutes to put them on, they look great, and from what I can tell seem's like they'd hold up quite well in a crash! I would recommend this to anyone looking into sliders for any cb model.

They saved by bike already
They work as advertised and look clean on my CB500F. I dropped the bike on my asphalt driveway and there is not a sratch on the bike. The slider has a small dent, but that is expected...it saved me from a headache. They are a bit expensive for what they are, but I think that just for peace of mind they are worth it.

nice and simple
Fit and finish was excellent, the install was very easy, and they're very unobtrusive. You'll forget they're there after a couple days. Without dropping my bike, I don't know for sure how well these sliders perform, but their placement should definitely protect the engine in case of an accident.

Great product.
Great product, easy to install, and it looks great. I dropped my bike during an emergency stop and this saved the fairings, exhaust, and clutch cover.

No-brainer accessory that's already saved my new bike
I got my first motorcycle two days ago, a CB500X, and immediately installed these sliders. I had managed to get through my MSF course without tipping, but sure enough I stalled my new Honda the first time taking it out and fell over on the left side.

Looking under the bike while it was on its side, I saw that only the tires, footpeg (which folded away) and Yoshimura frame slider were touching the ground. Upon righting the bike, there was no damage whatsoever, aside from the tip of the slider being a bit chewed up, and the shifter being a bit bent (which was easily fixed with a little muscle). Who knows how many embarrassing dollars I saved by slapping on these simple parts before setting off on my new horse? They look pretty decent too. Installation was a piece of cake, although I'd recommend using a center stand to do it.

This cheap, easy accessory has already done its job, and I have no doubt it will do it again the next time I screw up.

Held up in low speed accident
Purchased this slider kit as my mounted-on-bike insurance for my new Honda CB500F. Good thing, someone pulled a left U-turn right in front of me and although I scrubbed a lot of speed, I still smacked into his passenger side at an oblique angle near his front wheel. The slider took most of the brunt of impact, saved my lower left leg from impact, and kept damage to a cosmetic level on the bike. Good on you, Yoshimura. Only gripe is that you're supposed to use a torque wrench to assemble, which was annoying to have to purchase, but probably good to have around long-term.

Excellent sliders, and that's about it.
Recently bought these to get some sliders thinking I would install them myself. Once they arrived, it seemed as simple as I thought, but I decided to take them into my shop to see what they said. I'm not a motorcycle mechanic and don't have tools, so this seemed the best option. I live in a downtown studio apartment.

Bottom line, installing these on a CB500F/X will be the easiest possible compared to other bikes, it's just two screw mounts and they're both identical. When I brought my own hardware into the shop they were concerned as a lot of hardware can be a mess, but once they saw these they said, "oh these are great, no problem".

I haven't gone down with these sliders, but the construction seems great and will hold up- they don't look exactly like the image, the black bit is longer and the gold piece doesn't exist, it's black as well.

The bolts holding these sliders in will also hold your engine, only replace one at a time or your engine will sag down. If you do not know the relationship between a foot-pound, hp, and a joule, and a pound-foot or torque- then take these into your local shop to have them installed properly. It's a super easy install, but bring a six-pack with you and they'll probably install it for free.

Great sliders, would buy again.

Will these also fit the 2014 CB500F?
David M on Feb 19, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why they wouldn't, David. I have a 2013 CB500F, and I know that the 2014 model is exactly the same as far as the engine and the frame go.
What are the torque specs for the bolt?
Sam M on Nov 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: 47 foot pound
It is a high tensile bolt and you need a 8mm hex head drive to do it up
I ride a Honda CB500F. What will the 'sliders' protect if the bike is dropped at low speed / no speed? I am trying to evaluate these against the larger and more expensive 'frame protectors'.
Cedric B on Aug 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have them on my F. To be honest, I don't think they are long enough. I had a very slow drop and the bike landed on the exhaust and the end of the handlebars (just a tiny scratch). The fairings and the sliders never even touched the ground.
