Yoshimura Chassis Protector Kit Honda CB500F / CB500X

Yoshimura Chassis Protectors help minimize damage from sliding type falls, can save you hundreds of dollars in repairs, and maybe keep you from getting a DNF on race day. The plastic construction is soft enough to slow slides and wear down slowly... yet tough enough to keep the track away from your bike in most cases.

Yoshimura Frame Sliders Honda CB500F / CB500X 2013-2015 4.9 5 20 20
They saved by bike already They work as advertised and look clean on my CB500F. I dropped the bike on my asphalt driveway and there is not a sratch on the bike. The slider has a small dent, but that is expected...it saved me from a headache. They are a bit expensive for what they are, but I think that just for peace of mind they are worth it. Excellent sliders, and that's about it. Recently bought these to get some sliders thinking I would install them myself. Once they arrived, it seemed as simple as I thought, but I decided to take them into my shop to see what they said. I'm not a motorcycle mechanic and don't have tools, so this seemed the best option. I live in a downtown studio apartment. Bottom line, installing these on a CB500F/X will be the easiest possible compared to other bikes, it's just two screw mounts and they're both identical. When I brought my own hardware into the shop they were concerned as a lot of hardware can be a mess, but once they saw these they said, "oh these are great, no problem". I haven't gone down with these sliders, but the construction seems great and will hold up- they don't look exactly like the image, the black bit is longer and the gold piece doesn't exist, it's black as well. The bolts holding these sliders in will also hold your engine, only replace one at a time or your engine will sag down. If you do not know the relationship between a foot-pound, hp, and a joule, and a pound-foot or torque- then take these into your local shop to have them installed properly. It's a super easy install, but bring a six-pack with you and they'll probably install it for free. Great sliders, would buy again. August 3, 2015
Keep your bike safe Pros -Easy Installation -Look Attractive -Should provide great protection for the motorcycle Cons -I felt that they could be a little cheaper May 18, 2015
nice and simple Fit and finish was excellent, the install was very easy, and they're very unobtrusive. You'll forget they're there after a couple days. Without dropping my bike, I don't know for sure how well these sliders perform, but their placement should definitely protect the engine in case of an accident. April 7, 2015
Fits good, looks great, hope to never fully test them. Yoshimura always makes high quality parts and these sliders, while pretty simple items, are very well made. They look great and fit great as well - with super easy installation. Hoping to never test their effectiveness for the intended purpose. January 5, 2015
No-brainer accessory that's already saved my new bike I got my first motorcycle two days ago, a CB500X, and immediately installed these sliders. I had managed to get through my MSF course without tipping, but sure enough I stalled my new Honda the first time taking it out and fell over on the left side. Looking under the bike while it was on its side, I saw that only the tires, footpeg (which folded away) and Yoshimura frame slider were touching the ground. Upon righting the bike, there was no damage whatsoever, aside from the tip of the slider being a bit chewed up, and the shifter being a bit bent (which was easily fixed with a little muscle). Who knows how many embarrassing dollars I saved by slapping on these simple parts before setting off on my new horse? They look pretty decent too. Installation was a piece of cake, although I'd recommend using a center stand to do it. This cheap, easy accessory has already done its job, and I have no doubt it will do it again the next time I screw up. November 24, 2014
Does the job with style I'm very pleased with this product. I let my dad get on my brand new CB500F for nostalgias sake. Unfortunately, he lost control while traveling at just a couple of miles an hour and the bike went down hard. There are a couple of scratches on both dad and bike, but nothing too bad (though wounded pride may still be an issue). These frame sliders easily saved me hundreds of dollars in repairs and they don't have a scratch on them. Over all, a very durable product that blends into the bike well. I should note that I threw some thread locker during the install for good measure. The scratches on the muffler buffed right out. No one would know it was dropped unless they were really looking for it. September 2, 2014
Great product. Super quick shipping. Easy install. Product was delivered to the door in a super quick manner. Install took just a few minutes per the instructions. Item looks great on the bike. August 25, 2014

Sam M asked: What are the torque specs for the bolt? Nov 18, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Michael W: 47 foot pound
It is a high tensile bolt and you need a 8mm hex head drive to do it up

Jason C: 41 ft/lbs if dry. Usually reduce by 20% if you're using a copper anti-seize compound which is never a bad idea with stainless steel.

Cedric B asked: I ride a Honda CB500F. What will the 'sliders' protect if the bike is dropped at low speed / no speed? I am trying to evaluate these against the larger and more expensive 'frame protectors'. Aug 16, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Albert M: I have them on my F. To be honest, I don't think they are long enough. I had a very slow drop and the bike landed on the exhaust and the end of the handlebars (just a tiny scratch). The fairings and the sliders never even touched the ground. Aug 16, 2014
Reply to Albert Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Ankur P: I slid out my bike with these on at low speed and it protected all the engine parts. The fairings on the slide next to tank did still get scratched. Aug 16, 2014
Reply to Ankur Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Cameron H: The sliders protect the plastic around the engine and the tank. Fantastic and simple for no speed drops, very glad I bought them. Easy installation and the bike will land on the sturdy and inexpensive sliders and handlebars rather than expensive plastic and tank Aug 27, 2014
