Wolfman Blackhawk Tank Bag

The Blackhawk Tank Bag fits in between the compact Enduro Tank Bag and the Explorer Lite Tank Bag. It's 8-liter capacity and trim lines give it great clearance for off-road riding. The curved base contours snugly to most sloped tanks. The foam structure gives the Blackhawk “Soft-Rigidity”, allowing the bag to flex.

The redesigned clear map pocket is a step forward in versatility. They have taken the traditional “Map Pocket” and made it more useful to riders who use electronics; Wolfman has incorporated a strip of "Loop" material inside the pocket, and include a strip of Adhesive “Hook” to attach to your smart phone, GPS, Spot, etc. so they stay put.

Items can be kept organized with one stealthy outside pocket and an internal mesh pocket under the top. The silver interior makes it easy to see the contents of the bag. A small removable/adjustable bungee-cord across the top provides a convenient spot for gloves and such while fueling.

Features:

  • Large #10 YKK main zipper with extended weather flap
  • Stealthy zippered pocket right in front of the rider
  • Reflective carry handle and side accents

Wolfman Blackhawk Tank Bag 4.9 5 15 15
Excellent Product Size is perfect for my DR650. Well made! Moved up size of bikes, so I moved up from Wolfman Enduro to Wolfman Blackhawk. August 25, 2014
This is a great smaller sized bag. The underside of it is some of the softest material you can find and you can trust it will not harm your motorcycle finish. it is also very grippy as it is a rubberized material, hence guaranteeing stability and no rubbing motion. I have it on a 2014 Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX and it fits great in size and slope adjust-ability. On the downside it is a simple soft bag (the mentioned soft rigidity is only on the perimeter of the bag) and as such the more you put in it the more cluttered your stuff is to find. I am going to remedy this with some simple foam dividers (the type you find in camera bags) velcroed together for adjustability as I see fit. This is the only reason I kept a star out of performance. I did have in there a full size digital SLR camera, sunglasses, wallet, keys, battery chargers, USB cables, helmet visor cloth cleaner, and everything fit well with room to spare. I just took it on an over 2200 miles trip through Washington, Oregon, California and Nevada in mostly dry conditions and it performed very well even when we ran into rain and hail (though not waterproof it is resistant enough to keep the interior dry for short periods of exposure to rain). Pockets are as described and zippers work very smoothly. It would be nice to have a waterproof cover for it, but again a little ingenuity can quickly remedy this. The bungee strap on top is extremely useful for temporarily securing your gloves while not riding. The key-ring inside is also a nice touch for ease of securing your mc or house keys or remote control for garage door openers. As mentioned by the manufacturer the Blackhawk utilizes the same 4-point harness as used on the Explorer Lite, Rainier, and Large Expedition Tank bags, making switching out bags a snap. This is a deal maker for me. August 18, 2014
Perfect size for the essentials This tank bag fits great on my 650GS and is just the right size for all of my essentials for quick trips. It will come in handy on longer rides for those things I need quick access to. I like it so much that I'm planning to get a set of Wolfman soft saddlebags. August 16, 2014
Not too small, not too big! I really like this tank bag for my R1200GSA. The stock BMW tank bag was too big and got in the way when I am standing and leaning forward. This bag does not hamper your performance in any way. The only complaint I have about the bag is that it is not waterproof and the waterproofing bag does not come with it. I rode through a down poor and the bag got soaked. Must say that the contents did not get soaked though... Big enough to carry my phone, hat, wallet and small snacks easily. Probably could carry a little bit more but I hate overstuffing my tank bag. It is well built. We'll see in due time, how well the zipper as well as the material holds up under use. I would highly recommend the bag if you're looking for a bag that is not too big, not too small! August 3, 2014
Does the job Nicely put together, easy to install, does just what is suppose to do. About a perfect size while sitting on my BMW G650 GS, but definitely gets in the way while standing on the pegs. For off-road riding I will look for something shorter front to back. I would recommend this item to a friend. August 2, 2014
A great tank bag. I use this on my Yamaha Super Tenere; it fits great and is well designed. I like the overall quality of materials. The non slip material on the mounting surface prevents the bag from sliding around on the tank. A great mid sized tank bag. July 28, 2014
Great bag for the T800 The Blackhawk fits the sloped profile of the Tiger 800 well, but for where I sit it is a bit too far back. I added the Seat Concepts Tall seat to my bike and the increase in height puts the Blackhawk under my nose and I have to rotate my head way down to see the bag. I don't use the map case anyway, but I do put my ID in the back pocket and I have to lay eyes on it so as not to drop it after I go through the gate at work. It is deceptively big. Holds more than I need. The only thing I would request for future upgrades is maybe the ability to compartmentalize somehow. My phone always ends up with something hard (can, tire gauge, etc... bouncing around on the screen. Great product. My only other gripe is the rain cover is chintzy and costs WAY more than it should July 28, 2014
Just what I was looking for. I got this just before a 1,000 mile trip through Oregon. I wanted something not too bulky, but "big enough". At first I was disappointed that the transparent map pocket doesn't hold a folded map, then realized I don't look at maps while riding anyway, so this is a non-issue. I used it on a rugged 6-hour off-road tour over ATV trails, also, and it was great - doesn't get in the way whether you are standing on the pegs or sitting. July 28, 2014

A shopper asked: Out of stock, got it. But blocking the pictures of the product is moronic, insulting, really frustrating, can you tell? Specifically I want to see how it might work, or not, with a plastic offroad gas tank that has a large screw on tank cap with a high extended fuel vent line. Your blocked pictures and descriptions can't really answer that for a Safari gas tank.

Don't block the pictures please.

Jerry S: I think it all depends on how flexible your breather hose is, as the bag would be mounted right over the top of the gas cap, with four straps (2 in front, 2 in back). You typically disconnect the front two when accessing the gas cap. Not knowing exactly what your Sarfari tank looks like, I would assume it has a fairly pointed (as opposed to flat) tank top, so it might not be a real great fit for the Blackhawk box. And, if this is primarily an offroad bike, you may feel like it's a little in way when you are standing up. Jul 15, 2014

Randy H: I don't think it will work with the tank you have. It does work on my 08 klr but it just has a regular locking gas cap. The main reason it works so well on my bike is I can mount it up high on the tank to give me room to stand up. I hope you find want your looking for. Jul 15, 2014

Thomas W: I have one on my KLR 650; it has a stock gas tank with a fairly flush gas cap with no vent line. It fits great on mine, but because the bag rests directly on the cap, you will have a huge problem due to the large screw and vent line. Jul 15, 2014

MARK R: This bag on a stock DR650 tank covers/overlaps 100% of the stock gas cap. I have to unhook the front straps and tilt the bag back to fill the tank. Don't see it working well with a high extended fuel vent line. Jul 15, 2014

MICHAEL J: This bag won't work, and I can't think of an that will with the setup that you've described.

James S: I purchased the Wolfman Blackhawk Tank Bag for a BMW G650 GS upon Wolfman's recommendation. Call Wolfman directly to find out if this tank bag will fit on a R1200RT. They will direct you accordingly. Then buy from RevZilla! Apr 30, 2014

Robert U: I have it on a 2014 GS and it fits great, the GS tank is sloped pretty steep towards the back. I wanted a smaller bag to hold maps and a few do-dads, this bag fits the bill great, Apr 30, 2014

Donato Y: the best bag for the rt is the bmw one that clips on trhe mount. the wolfman is less expensive, smaller and not waterproof but will work with the rain cover. Apr 30, 2014

Jon P: No. Fits well on my GS. Smaller than expected and that's ok, may appear a bit dwarfed on RT. Or you may be perfectly happy w minimalist look. Apr 30, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Wayne M: I tried it on both my DRZ400S, and F800GS. I would say it was on the large side on my DRZ400S, which is comparable (perhaps slightly larger) to a WR250R. I would look at the Wolfman Enduro if you're looking for a better fit. I know a lot guys put that one on. Jul 13, 2014
