Wolfman Blackhawk Tank Bag Videos

Wolfman Blackhawk Tank Bag

The Blackhawk Tank Bag fits in between the compact Enduro Tank Bag and the Explorer Lite Tank Bag. It's 8-liter capacity and trim lines give it great clearance for off-road riding. The curved base contours snugly to most sloped tanks. The foam structure gives the Blackhawk a soft yet rigid frame, allowing the bag to flex.

The redesigned clear map pocket is a step forward in versatility. They have taken the traditional map pocket and made it more useful to riders who use electronics; Wolfman has incorporated a strip of "Loop" material inside the pocket, and include a strip of adhesive hook to attach to your smart phone, GPS, Spot, etc. so they stay put.

Items can be kept organized with one stealthy outside pocket and an internal mesh pocket under the top. The silver interior makes it easy to see the contents of the bag. A small removable/adjustable bungee-cord across the top provides a convenient spot for gloves and such while fueling.

While the Wolfman Blackhawk Tank Bag has a universal fit, it works especially well on the Yamaha Super Tenere.

Features:

  • Large #10 YKK main zipper with extended weather flap
  • Stealthy zippered pocket right in front of the rider
  • Reflective carry handle and side accents
  • Interior zippered mesh pocket
  • Interior key clip
  • 1” 4-point mounting harness - same harness as the Rainier, Large Expedition, and Explorer Lite tank bags
  • Exterior D-rings for Wolfman Shoulder Strap (sold separately)
  • Optional Rain Cover available (sold separately)

Dimensions:

  • Capacity: 8 Liters
  • Length: top 9”, bottom: 11 1/4"
  • Height: front-facing rider- 8”, rear: 3 1/2”
  • Width: 7”

Construction:

  • Full 1680 denier P/U coated ballistic fabric
  • Non-skid, non-scratch bottom
  • 3/8” foam laminate body and bottom for support
  • Silver lined interior
  • Reinforced stitching throughout
  • All seams are bound

Works well on a BMW F800GS
Just got the bag before a 2500 mile ride. Wasn't sure between this bag and the next size bigger but I didn't want any interference while riding off road and needed some thing small enough to take off carry around if needed. Perfect for some tools, wallet, cell phone, microfibers, etc. Had way more room than I needed and never once did it get in the way while standing. Really like the zippers and the material on the bottom that keeps it from sliding. Never moved at all and don't have to worry about messing up the bike's finish. Super easy to install and adjustable. Really like the quality of Wolfman over a Cortech I had on another bike. Thanks for a great product.

All I need
I don't like tank bags. They tend to obscure the instrument panel, slide around on the tank, sag, not to mention being an eye sore.

I needed a bag that would perform utilitarian tasks keeping frequently required items handy such as sun/eye glasses, toll money, small point and shoot camera, and a charging station for my phone and iPad. The Blackhawk allows me to put my iPad inside and run a USB cable through a gap in the zipper. The small external pocket on the side facing the rider will accept my iPhone and likewise allows me to charge it.

Mounting it onto my '07 GS is easy. The bag does not slip due its grippy bottom. Fueling is easy with no drama.

I seldom use maps while riding since I have a gps so I can't really comment on the map pocket accept to say its not large enough to use most state map's single panel but that's not uncommon.

The Blackhawk's construction is top quality. Its not billed as waterproof and I haven't experienced rain yet. I have a dry bag that fits inside the bag to protect my electronics.

I'm a tankbag convert as long as its a Blackhawk.

This is a great smaller sized bag.
The underside of it is some of the softest material you can find and you can trust it will not harm your motorcycle finish. it is also very grippy as it is a rubberized material, hence guaranteeing stability and no rubbing motion. I have it on a 2014 Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX and it fits great in size and slope adjust-ability. On the downside it is a simple soft bag (the mentioned soft rigidity is only on the perimeter of the bag) and as such the more you put in it the more cluttered your stuff is to find. I am going to remedy this with some simple foam dividers (the type you find in camera bags) velcroed together for adjustability as I see fit. This is the only reason I kept a star out of performance. I did have in there a full size digital SLR camera, sunglasses, wallet, keys, battery chargers, USB cables, helmet visor cloth cleaner, and everything fit well with room to spare. I just took it on an over 2200 miles trip through Washington, Oregon, California and Nevada in mostly dry conditions and it performed very well even when we ran into rain and hail (though not waterproof it is resistant enough to keep the interior dry for short periods of exposure to rain). Pockets are as described and zippers work very smoothly. It would be nice to have a waterproof cover for it, but again a little ingenuity can quickly remedy this. The bungee strap on top is extremely useful for temporarily securing your gloves while not riding. The key-ring inside is also a nice touch for ease of securing your mc or house keys or remote control for garage door openers. As mentioned by the manufacturer the Blackhawk utilizes the same 4-point harness as used on the Explorer Lite, Rainier, and Large Expedition Tank bags, making switching out bags a snap. This is a deal maker for me.

Not too small, not too big!
I really like this tank bag for my R1200GSA. The stock BMW tank bag was too big and got in the way when I am standing and leaning forward. This bag does not hamper your performance in any way.
The only complaint I have about the bag is that it is not waterproof and the waterproofing bag does not come with it. I rode through a down poor and the bag got soaked. Must say that the contents did not get soaked though...
Big enough to carry my phone, hat, wallet and small snacks easily. Probably could carry a little bit more but I hate overstuffing my tank bag.
It is well built. We'll see in due time, how well the zipper as well as the material holds up under use.
I would highly recommend the bag if you're looking for a bag that is not too big, not too small!

Great bag, good quality - made in USA
Nice size, heck it fits a six pack too. The zippers are really nice and easy to handle, especially with gloves on.

I just wish I could lock it somehow onto the bike somehow so someone can't unsnap it and walk off with it.

You can't go wrong with Wolfman.
This is my second Wolfman tank bag. I wanted something a little smaller for the BMW R1200GSA since I have panniers for large items. It is perfect for small frequently used items. I especially like the quick disconnect buckles for accessing the fuel tank. Very durable material with great zippers. The map pocket isn't big enough for a map, but useful for holding my gate opener. The bungy on top secures my glasses and gloves during stops. The universal harness can be mounted to just about anything. Most importantly, because the bag is narrow, it does not interfere with my controls when my bars are at full lock.

Great product made in the USA
Installed on a R1200GSW. The tankbag fits the slope of the tank fine. I do not like big tall tankbags and the Blackhawk was exactly what I was looking for. I really like the elastic strap across the map pocket, you can stash you gloves there during a stop. Highly recommended.

2008 GSA Fits perfect
Wolfman makes quality stuff. This bag is no exception. I installed on my 2008 R1200GSA and it was a simple straight forward install. Build quality is first rate and of course Revzilla is awesome to deal with. Time will tell durability but if its like any of the other Wolfman products I bought it should be good. My only gripe is the rain cover cost extra. There is no reason this should not be included. As a matter of fact you should not need one in the first place. Why not make these bags waterproof. How hard can it be?

After LOTS of online research, reading reviews, watching the youtube videos (including the very helpful video here at Revzilla) I decided this is the best bag for my BMW F800GS. I think it is big enough to carry the right items in front of me for easy access, has a needed map pocket (yeah, I'm still using maps and handwritten turn-by-turns), and is still small and narrow enough to not interfere with off-road riding.

"I've used Wolfman products for many years on my motorcycles and have found them to be good, reliable, durable products. I bought the Blackhawk bag for use on my Honda XR650L. The Wolfman Enduro bag is a little too small for my needs and the Wolfman Expedition Lite is a little too big for the Honda. The 8 liter Blackhawk bag should be just right."

Michael D on Dec 14, 2014
I have a Wolfman Large Expedition Tank Bag for my KLR 650, and I just don't like the design - it's hard to quickly access (grabbing a camera for a quick shot) and it's floppy and unwieldy unless it's full. It's also too large for standing on the pegs - you can't straddle the tank. On my smaller bike, I have the Enduro Tank Bag, which I really like. So I thought I'd try this slightly larger version for the KLR.

Anyone have this bag on WR250R.?
A shopper on Jun 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have it on a CRF250L and it works perfectly! I can access the gas cap without removing it!
will it fit a r1200gs adventure 2015?
A shopper on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I've got mine on a 13' R1200GS. It should fit the GSA with no problem. It's smaller than you think, and smaller than it looks. It's really only big enough for a pair of sunglasses, a cell phone, a small point-shoot camera and a bit of other stuff. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone one size/bag bigger.
Out of stock, got it. But blocking the pictures of the product is moronic, insulting, really frustrating, can you tell? Specifically I want to see how it might work, or not, with a plastic offroad gas tank that has a large screw on tank cap with a high extended fuel vent line. Your blocked pictures and descriptions can't really answer that for a Safari gas tank.

Don't block the pictures please.
A shopper on Jul 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I think it all depends on how flexible your breather hose is, as the bag would be mounted right over the top of the gas cap, with four straps (2 in front, 2 in back). You typically disconnect the front two when accessing the gas cap. Not knowing exactly what your Sarfari tank looks like, I would assume it has a fairly pointed (as opposed to flat) tank top, so it might not be a real great fit for the Blackhawk box. And, if this is primarily an offroad bike, you may feel like it's a little in way when you are standing up.
does anyone have this on an R1200RT?
A shopper on Apr 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I purchased the Wolfman Blackhawk Tank Bag for a BMW G650 GS upon Wolfman's recommendation. Call Wolfman directly to find out if this tank bag will fit on a R1200RT. They will direct you accordingly. Then buy from RevZilla!
Does this product include the mounting harnesses needed?
A shopper on Apr 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: All mounting straps are included. Has a four point harness, very secure and stable. Installed on BMW Sertao and r 1200 GSA.
what are the dimensions of the map pocket?
Lewis S on Apr 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: About 5 1/2 in. x 71/2 in.
Don't use it much since smart phones are so handy. I usually keep a pen and notepad in it. The main compartment is big enough to hold my clear face shield, neck gaitor, camelback water bottle and the all important cork screw. The rain cover works well also.
Anyone mount this to
an xr650l?
Justin B on Jun 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Haven't, but I have mounted it to a Wr250r and it worked well.
Also fit my Super Tenure well . I think it's worth the money.
