Thor Hydrant Backpack
Why buy it?
If you are an avid motorcyclist who likes to ride in warmer climates, then you would know how important keeping your body hydrated is, and how annoying it can be just to drink some water. Yes; you could pull over, take your helmet off, and then get a drink, or you could simply use the Thor Hydrant backpack. This backpack isn’t just for warm weather rides – you could use it anytime you ride, and it’s very easy to drink while riding via a hose connected to the bladder of the backpack.
Pros vs. Cons
Overall I would give the backpack a 9/10. The things I like about include; the 3 liter water capacity, sleek design, and comfort. Specifically, it holds enough water for any road trip, looks great, and even with a full bladder, the padding on the shoulder straps and the center strap distribute the weight evenly and it feels comfortable on your back. Another cool feature about this backpack is that is has an entirely separate pocket that can be used to pack snacks, or small tools that you may want to bring on a longer ride.
However, I gave it a 9/10 due to one reason – that being it has a tendency to leak a little. Occasionally when the hose is hanging down, some water would leak out onto myself or my bike. But this was easily fixed by tucking the hose underneath the center strap so that the hose is above the bladder and gravity doesn’t take effect.
Refilling and cleaning the bladder can be difficult with some hydration packs, but luckily, not with this one! As for refills, they take about 60 seconds, and it couldn’t be easier. All you do is remove the bladder from the backpack, unscrew the top, fill it up, and put it back in the pack. Cleaning the bladder might be a concern for some prospective buyers, but I assure you, this can also be done in a short matter of time.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone in need of a hydration backpack. The pros far outweigh the cons, and for a mere $75, this backpack is a must-have for anyone who regularly rides in warm weather.
