I commute in these almost daily. These offer some ankle protection, are very comfortable, and you can actually walk around in them after you get where you are going. August 28, 2014
Awesome Boots This are my first boots but I can really feel the protection and confort of the quality product. I live in Puerto Rico and they have endure 3 moths of riding and lots of hot weather. I am very please. August 21, 2014
These boots are great These boots are great, they provide a good deal of protection without feeling bulky or limiting my movement. August 7, 2014
good casual riding shoe I settled on these TCXs for my first motorcycle-specific boots. I have ridden with them for two months now. Previously I'd been using sturdy hiking boots when I rode, but these have been an improvement on several fronts. Pros: They have low-profile, stiff soles, padding covering the ankles, and velcro covering your shoelaces. The overall shaping of the shoe (and really that's how you should view these, as they don't have the plastics, stiffer reinforcements, or shin protection of heartier motorcycle boots) provides for smooth shifting and a natural mating with your pegs and levers. Even though it lacks extra dedicated protection to mitigate wear on top of your left/shifting foot, I haven't seen signs that the leather/suede tops are deteriorating. Cons: This shoe is too large and wide for its sizing. I have plenty of experience purchasing euro-sized shoes, both for casual and bicycling use, and have never needed to cinch down the laces so tightly to maintain a proper fit. The ankle opening is also oversized and I'm unable to secure a snug fit, but it doesn't feel unsafe enough that I would return this shoe. The velcro shoelace cover is a nice touch and does protect your laces, but there's not enough length on the shoe side of the velcro to tighten the fit. Maybe this isn't necessarily a con, but it again emphasizes the sizing issues of the shoe. Overall I would still recommend this as a great casual riding shoe. The toe sliders aren't plastic and won't hold up to racing. The ankle padding is minimal and will protect from some bruising in a drop, but won't keep you from breaking your ankle if the shoe bends. Still, for the price it's a comfortable and very functional piece of footwear that you will be comfortable in both on and off the bike. July 31, 2014
The boots fit great! The boots needed to be broken in a little bit. The first ride was pretty stiff, but after about a week they fit really well. The boots are light and do allow for some airflow. They're comfortable enough to walk around, but not the greatest. I'd suggest to bring a pair of shoes if you'll be walking around for a while (I keep a pair of spare shoes at work now). July 28, 2014
Great for riding, could be better off the bike I was recommended these boots by a very nice rep in the Revzilla Philly store. I was originally looking at a different brand, but was convinced to get the TCX's on the basis of better safety and they were actually a little bit cheaper than the other boots I was looking at anyway. The difference in protection with some of the comparable light boots around the same price was obvious. The other brand twisted/deformed as easily as most sneakers and lacked any sort of toe reinforcement. Apart from ankle protection, they didn't seem too much better than wearing a pair of high tops. The TCXs are significantly stiffer, with a good amount of reinforcement in the toe box (though not 100% hard), and ample heel protection as well. They feel great when riding and I feel well protected for basic commuting. Only downside is that they're not particularly comfortable for basic off-bike use. I expect to give up some comfort for safety, but the problem is that there's almost no cushioning on the footbed. The insole is very thin and I'd think they could have put in a cushier insole without affecting the safety. For a boot that has styling tame enough to look like a normal sneaker when under a pant cuff, I wish it was a bit more comfortable for off-bike use. However, this is something I should hopefully be able to fix myself with some Dr. Scholl's inserts. Regarding sizing, these seem about one half to one size large versus sneakers. I wear size 9 sneakers, though I wear them loose so I'm probably more like 8.5. With the TCX boots, size 8 (EU 41) is the proper fit for me. July 23, 2014
Great boot, grabs the street very well. Started riding in them over the weekend and they were so comfortable that I forgot I had them on. July 15, 2014
Good style, good fit, great price I ordered the boots in a size 44, and they feel good, not too tight or loose. I ordered gel insoles in hopes they will fit just a tad more snug with them in. Build quality is great, and the style is just cool! For 110 dollars, you really can't go wrong. Walking around is more comfortable than I expected, the Achilles cutout helps a lot. I wouldn't wear these all day of course, but I wouldn't mind spending some time on my feet in them. Overall, a great buy. July 9, 2014

Eugene S: Long standing success with TCX (and A-stars) boots, which saved my ankles once or twice! Aug 20, 2014
Matthew K: Price range, features, good reviews, stylish look. Seems to be a good middle of the road riding shoe/boot. Aug 19, 2014
RENE S: Because of the good reviews, price and because they looked good Aug 17, 2014
Evans O: Again, these look good just like the Dainese Textile pants I ordered. They are low profile and will surely go well with a range of riding pants including the Dainese I ordered. They are also the vented pair meaning I shouldn't feel like my feet are heating up while riding. I live in a region that experiences scorching summers. This pair is my first proper motorcycle riding shoes I have bought so I needed something low key, again, and something that can be used comfortably on and off the bike. Aug 10, 2014
Justin W: Light weight and the styling. Grip is great too! Aug 8, 2014
Clifton L: Looks, style ce certification Jul 2, 2014
maciste c: I normally where Puma full length riding boots. I have a new job which requires me to walk heavily. I didn't want to have to bring a second set of hoes to work so I bought these because they looked light weight. These riding shoes are the best. Jul 1, 2014

Alexander K: I was looking for footwear which offers good protection but doesn't break the bank. TCX seems to provide just that. I was torn between these boots and the regular X-Square. The reason I chose these over the regular X-Square was because they seem to have a little less of a strictly motorcycle shoe look. Which means I can wear them off the bike after a ride and feel comfortable. I am a bit disappointed this boot doesn't offer a shift pad but the regular X-Square does... Mar 18, 2014
Robert G: I was looking for a pair of everyday commuter riding boots that gave me some protection but are comfortable enough to wear all day. For a beginner they aren't extremely expensive which is a bonus. Mar 13, 2014
Robert S: I wanted some boots that were slightly above the ankles and super light weight with airflow. The TCX line has the basic not-so-flashy scheme with a pinch of "I'm serious about riding" that I enjoy. And the price on them doesn't seem quite as marked up as some of the over-popular brands like Alpinestar, etc. Feb 25, 2014
Tony S: I liked Anthony's review of the original and thought these newer versions might be the right ones for me. I'll follow up with a review once I get them Feb 12, 2014
Alexander K asked: Is the tongue of this boot mesh or breathable? When I look at the picture of the white version it is mesh and it looks like it would breath. However the black version looks solid like it is waterproof. I'm look for something for the summer that breathes. May 14, 2014

John M: I am enjoying these boots that fit extremely well. The lining is a perforated mesh that looks like it breaths. The tongue exterior looks more like suede and is the same material as the rest of the boot. My feet have not been hot but I can't tell you that I feel air blowing through them. I bought for the same reason as you. I am pleased that they are comfortable to walk around in when stopped. I am riding to the beach this weekend and will have a better perspective.

Robert G: The back of the tongue is red mesh, but I'm not sure what the outside of the tongue is, sorry. I'm a college student and they are back home. I can say that they are extremely comfortable and supportive and I have no problem wearing them in summer weather. Hope this helps! May 14, 2014

Jason T: Tongue is soft suede on the outside, breathable mesh on the inside. We haven't had any super hot days up in the northeast yet, but I can feel the air coming into the boots when riding. May 15, 2014

Alexander K asked: How does the protection on this boot compare to the TCX Street? Better, less or about the same? May 27, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Alan B: Unfortunately I have never tried on the TCX Street boot but I will tell you I love these TCX X-Square Sport Boots. I am a street rider. No track riding. For street riding they are awesome. They have the perfect amount of flex and lots of support. The fit is perfect all around. Extremely comfortable in the heel, arch & toe box. I ride a GSX-R 750 and they fit perfectly on the pegs and allow me to shift and brake very comfortably. I like the fact that I can feel the rear brake pedal through the sole. The price point is unbeatable. I strongly recommend these boots for everyday street riding. May 28, 2014

Andrew F: Hi,
I just purchased these, and only wore them a half dozen times.
I find them to be very comfortable. I wear a size 10.5 mens, and have a wide foot. I ordered the size 11, and find they fit me great.
As far as protection, they are not a heavy duty, over padded boot.
However, I feel that the boot will serve the purpose for normal day street riding, and provide adequate protection. Good grip to the pavement too.
I have never had the TCX Street, so I can't compare.
They are light, and comfortable.
You can actually walk around with these.
I like them, and the price is right.

Ryan K asked: Howdy All,

So last year I bought a pare of CX X-Square Boots and in that time i've put about 10,000 miles on them. I've enjoyed my time with them but it's time to move on. Well if I'm honest i've basically destroyed them so I need to get something new. About 5,000 miles into their life I found that the left sole (or what ever that part is that gives the boot it's stiffness had actually snapped. About a months later the right boot did the same thing. For months I would walk around and feel the two half's rubbing against one another like tectonic plates and literally just today I saw that it had split out of the rubber sole. All in all I found the experience a little annoying and the only reason i can think of why it happened is because I ALWAYS ride on my toes. The split in the sole happened right were the stress would be greatest when riding like that.

So my apologies for this long intro but my question is... If i get these boots am i going to end up messing them up because of the way i ride or do you think these "new and improved" versions will hold up?

Villeneuve H: That's a good quality and most sensible riding boot.

Over all performance is excellent, the only way to improve is the left and right shoe's head can add a rubber cushion for gear chage use that would be more precise. Over score for this boot would be 9.5.

A shopper asked: I've never purchased boots or shoes from on-line due to the concern about it's size and fit
I usually wear a us size 7 for my snickers and they are hair on the big side. Size 6.5 would be a perfect for us shoe size
but too narrow and tight if was european size because I have wide and small feet
What size of this product would you recommend for me? 39 or 40?
Feb 20, 2014

peter k: These are the narrowest and smallest boots I have ever bought. They fit tightly and I'm hoping that they will stretch out a bit, but if I had been trying them on in a store, I'd probably have bought the next size larger.

Joseph H: I wear a 9.5 US so I bought 44 and it turned out great. By the same logic I would go with 40. Can always return and exchange later. Feb 20, 2014

Alexander K: It's interesting that you say that. I also wear a 9.5 in US. A bought a 44 and I think they are a bit big. I was contemplating exchanging them for a 43 but a full size down might be pushing it. My recommendation is to find a shop that sells a similarly boot (European sized) and try that on so you can find if these are going to be a good fit. Mar 21, 2014
Rene D: We apparently have the same feet. I wear size 7 and can fit in 6.5. I bought size 40 and they are thight!!! You'll never fit in 39 go for size 40. May 27, 2014

peter k: I've been wearing these for a few months and while I like them they seem less protective than other ankle-length books I have. Hopefully I won't have to test them.
