Narrow tall fit, great value Bought this helmet for under $80 on sale. Ordered an XL with a head measurement of 24". Fits nice and snug new. Went with the dual-sport style because I have a long narrow head, and my chin can be too long for full face helmets. This helmet allowed me to have a helmet which fit my head shape very well and still have use of a face shield. The shield fogged up in cool weather at slow speed, but evaporated once I sped up and open up the face shield and helmet vents, nothing unusual. Like the helmet a lot mostly due to fit, but it also looks sharp and is very visible. Hope the visor doesn't grab too much wind; it is removable though. Will be using mostly on the road. This product has great features I have a simillar helmet of the Brand ROCC, it looks the same only it has a sunscreen in it. But the helmet fits perfect, is really comfortable and not to heavy. November 23, 2013
Best composite helmet for the price I bought this mainly because of the sale. A lightweight composite DOT and ECE for less then $100 is a steal. I only put 200 miles now, but I think it's a great helmet. The only negative side is probably the wind resistance if you move the head to the sides, probably due to the peak, but I think you will have that with every dual sport helmet. It's my first dual sport so I don't have a comparison. Overall great helmet. December 8, 2013
Bufferring After thoroughly inspecting, I can conclude this helmet is 99.9% the same as the Bilt Explorer Adventure Helmet at www.cyclegear.com because I own the Bilt helmet. Good thing this about this helmet is the weight. It's so light and I like it. However, after 2 hours riding, I had a bad head ache: from the buffering at high speed (65-70 mph) and it's snugness. Probably I have a slight-round head shape that caused the head ache. Material are well made, exactly as the video shown on this page. November 22, 2013
sparks nexxus only have about 350 miles on this helmet so this is more of an innitial review. the good: keeps the cold air out, until the vents are open then it flows very nicely. it is pretty light. you kinda just forget it is on your head. padding is very evenly places, there are no real pressure points or spots that feel like there is excessive padding. i like the fact that its really a no thrills helmet. "keep it simple stupid". not many moving parts or vents to break. nice simple design the bad: since it is a longer on the outside, it catches he wind somewhat easily. there is some distortion of view when you look down towards the nose section of the helmet. i cant seem to find a comfortable spot for an ear bud. it may just be that the helmet isnt really broken in yet. overall, i would buy this helmet again in a heartbeat. it was $164 marked down to $89 for a hi-viz helmet that is DOT and ECE approved is great. it fits nicely, its comfortable, and i love the color. SparX Nexxus - great bang for buck... This was my first purchase from Revzilla and i could not be happier with the support i received once i gave in and have had someone help me... at first i tried two other DS helmets which fit extremely small - i researched and took measurements myself and still ended up getting a helmet which could not even go over my head... after finally calling very frustrated the helpful support folks at Revzilla guided me through the sizing and getting the helmet i needed, ended up paying few more bucks then what i was originally looking at but it has been well worth it. The helmet at first fit little snug but after two weeks of wear it became very comfortable. There tends to be little bit of noise at highway speeds but nothing unbearable and i usually wear headphones... The helmet goes great providing more than ample amount of vision and shade - i hardly ever have to wear sunglasses. Overall this is a great bang for the buck purchase and i am extremely happy with it and support i have received from Revzilla. August 12, 2013
SparX Nexxus is a good buy This helmet fits a little snug at first but will loosen up over time. Follow the instructions on how to measure your head and the fit will be good. The Sparx Nexxus is a good helmet for my needs which is some highway but mostly Forest Service roads. The visor up or down allows for a great deal of vision. For the price and quality you can't ask for anything more. September 17, 2013
Great value for the price! I'm a first-time rider and this is the first helmet I've purchased. I ride a '03 KLR and I'm planning more DS riding this season. I bought the white Sparx Nexxus. The field of view is great. A minimal head turn and you can check your blind spots. The extended chin feature might bump your shoulder, but doesn't impede movement. Besides how often are you riding with your head turned sideways?? The flip up face shield is great. It slides well enough out of the field of view to wear sunglasses or whatever and its easy to pop open and close at lights, traffic, etc. There is one small distraction: around sunrise and sunset there can be a small reflection in the front right/left angle of view. It think it's due to the shape. Again, it ain't gonna last too long, just that start/finish of daylight. The ventilation is great. I ride in CO so I can't speak to it performing in really humid conditions. But even on cold mornings, with the chin vent closed, it fogged up for a second at a stoplight, but cleared up in a moment. It never fully fogged up. The chin vent helps on colder rides. I didn't notice too much difference with the top vents open/closed but I've a good amount of hair. The fit is very comfortable, but this is entirely subjective as everyone has a different shaped head. The removable pads are a great feature and make it easy to get the right fit. The chin strap is very comfortable. There is a small draft around the chin but a collared shirt/mask would be fine. I rode in the Rocky Mountains for hours and it never bothered me. The weight seems good to me. Again, I'm a first time buyer, but it doesn't make my neck sore. I will be sore after riding in heavy CO crosswinds in the peaks/canyons, but thats impossible to avoid. Ok, the visor. I read a ton of reviews of people complaining about the wind resistance. Its a visor. Of course theres gonna be Some resistance. I've been up to Very high speeds for a mile, into a headwind, just to see how it preforms and I can't say the helmet feels like its pulling my head around. Theres a small amount wind sound but its not annoying at all. I've rode my tank dry and barely noticed. If you want a silent and soundproof ride, stick to 4 wheels with glass. And Sparx has a helmet policy and I think this is how it works: register it and if you crash, write up a review, save the registration policy, and they'll get you another. Done. Can't beat that. Thats the review folks. Hope it helps. Hope your rides are long and free-winding hills and canyons. Cheers May 28, 2013

Colordodrew: I believe it is. It has two Phillips screws for rear attachments and a large Phillips/Flatheads for front attachments. I think it would have to be replaceable since its attached and not a part of the helmet. I guess you can ride without it.
Double check with Sparx on their website or call up their cust service guys.

Ryan V: The first answer assumes you are asking about the sun visor and is correct. The face shield visor can also be removed and the helmet worn without it if so desired. They are both fastened to the helmet by the same screws. May 30, 2012

vulcanspeed1600: The visor is removable and could be worn without, but it would look outta place. The visor looks fantastic and it perfectly placed to block the sun with little head tilt. May 29, 2012

A shopper asked: How well does the shield hide itself from your field of vision when in the position on the Nexxus? I just got the RKT Hybrid today but was disappointed (though I shouldn't have been surprised, based on the reviews I'm now seeing of it) by the lack of visual clearance trying to move the shield out of the way. It looks like a helmet like the GMax GM11 goes up completely, but how well does this Nexxus do? Sep 12, 2013

David W: I have had the Nexxus for about 9 months now and it is my primary helmet. The sheild tucks away nicely, I only really have it down at night or in weather. The helmet is not set up for goggles however, and they dont work great with this shell. Shatterproof sunglasses are the ticket with this lid. If you have access to a Explorer adventure or a Speed and Strength (whatever their hybrid is called) they are the same shell and shield combo, just rebranded. I do like this helmet, I feel its the best "budget" hybrid out there. Hope this helps. Sep 12, 2013

Ryan V: I take it you mean the face shield? When the face shield is up you can see it at the very top of your peripheral vision, but it does not interfere with line of sight at all. I never ride with the visor up though. It is no worse than noticing the sun visor peak in your peripheral. Sep 12, 2013

Carl K: The shield goes up nearly out of vision. When I ride with it up it does not impede my line of sight. I think for the price this helmet is perfect for dual sport riding. I'd buy it again. Sep 17, 2013

A shopper asked: Hi , I am looking for a dual sport helmet. for the road I use Arai Signet-Q - Large - meaning my head is long-oval. Price is not a big factor - I am looking for a safe helemt I cna take for a month long trip to South America.. Any suggestions? Dec 18, 2013

Tyrone R: Honestly I bought this because I'd never had a dual sport helmut before and this one was cheap. However, having used it now for about 2 months, I have to say it's comfortable, breathable, can be used with goggles or without, has removable insides to make clean fairly easy, and reasonably light. It also looks cool, and if I drop it or lose it, I'm only out $90.00. I couldn't say the same if I bought an Arai Dual Sport lid. Dec 20, 2013
