Great for Shorai batteries (I have 3)
Just one suggestion, be careful when you plug the cable into the battery as it is easy to bend the pins.

I was pleased with how easy it was to use. Basically you set it and forget it. Cheap insurance on your battery.

The Charger has proved to be a quality reliable plug and play item.I have been using the Ducati while waiting for the Car to be repaired and it started like a dream after being laid up for the winter.Tonight I put it back into the shed and plugged in the Charger on Store mode, ready for the next ride.

It's good, but not great but you HAVE to use it for Shorai batteries.
I have two bikes with Shorai batteries and yes, they're super-light. Depending on your bike the install might be easy or a pain. The charger isn't like a CTEK or Battery Tender. Read the directions, it's not just plug and play. The charging spot is in the middle of the battery. They don't piggyback the terminals like other chargers. The connecting cable feels flimsy and it doesn't look like you could just leave it connected forever. For the money you pay for the Shorai products it should be a better design. Yes they're light and it might be a perfect solution for you, I was 50/50, but overall they're worth it. I guess you're paying for 'trick'.

Precise lithium battery management
Useful in keeping my long term storage bikes running. No problems after 90 days with any defects. The cable plugging into the battery is fragile so you really have to be careful when disconnecting. Otherwise, battery maint has been on par for what you would expect.

Shawn S: If you have a Shorei battery...I have three...you HAVE to have their management system. The old trusty Battery Tender won't do. Even with 2 buttons, it's a little complicated...I had to call Shorei, but it's all sorted now. Maybe it'll be plug and play on v2.0.Oct 1, 2015

Michael J: This is a must for any Shorai Lithium Battery. During the winter months this is used to maintain my Shorai battery on a 2014 ZX6R 636 which has a constant draw on the battery from the installed alarm. This worked great, I was able to fire up my bike a week ago and go ride on one of the nice days. Before I bought this, my battery was dead after the bike had sat for 3 weeks.Mar 8, 2015

Jay M: Shorai batteries need a special charging system, and this charger also has a data port and analysis of the battery condition built-in. I plan on upgrading other bikes to the Shorai and this charger will be worth the price over time.Feb 13, 2015

A shopper asked:How do you use a 12 volt tire pump with this setup, since this uses a different type of leads?Nov 10, 2014
Stephen B:This item is a charger to charge the cells of the battery evenly. The alternator will charge the battery normally, so you probably don't need the charger, unless your battery dies completely for some reason. The baterry comes charged. The charger comes with a pigtail, which connects to the special port for easy acess, but it's not used for accessories. You can add a regular quick connect two pin w/ fuse pigtail cable to power an emergency air compressor. Some air compressors have alligator clips which would work as long as you can get to your battery. If you plan on getting a Li battery, be aware you have to "exercise" the battery when it's cold outside and your bike is cold. I turn on the high beams for a little while before hiring the start button. If trying to start when cold too soon, it's possible to loose clock and or trip data if you have digital system.
William D:You would have to install a separate 2 wire lead for that purpose. This charger has a very specific purpose, namely, to charge each cell of the Shorai battery individually in order to keep the cells properly balanced. It's not designed for any other purpose. If you don't need or want that charging feature, there are some conventional battery chargers that Shorai approves of that will have the standard two wire lead you are likely looking for. On mine, I have the standard two wire lead for accessories (like heated clothing) and for emergency charging when I'm away from home. I also have the lead that comes with this charger attached to battery and have the Shorai charger plugged in whenever the bike is sitting in my garage. Best of both worlds that way.Nov 10, 2014
