you get you're moneys worth this gloves are my favorite from 6 pairs ive owned, mostly icon gloves. great quality and the looks exellent. i love the fiting of this gloves. definetely not ment for cold days. they have exellent air flow keeping youre hands cool at all times. April 18, 2014
Amazing Value! I bought these gloves because they offer an amazing amount of protection for the price. They are surprisingly comfortable too. The leather feels soft inside, the fingers are externally stitched, and the top of the glove seems to be fleece-lined. They also get pretty good airflow for an all-leather glove. I'd definitely recommend these gloves. April 17, 2014
Splendiforous! Fantastic bang for the buck. Well-constructed. Sizing is a bit small compared to other brands - yes, it's an American fit, but it's still tight, even after break-in. Would still highly recommend this glove. April 14, 2014
Full of features These gloves are amazing. I've ridden in them over 600 miles now from 35 to 65 degree weather. I had a low speed lowside in them as well. They are extremely comfortable, extremely protective, and a great fit per the size chart. As they break in, they feel better too. They do flow a lot of air for a glove that isn't mesh but nothing I couldn't fix with a glove liner under them. Still have to see how hot my hands get in the middle of summer but with the way cold air moved in, I don't think it will be a problem. April 9, 2014
Excellent glove if you want crash protection. Whether you are a commuter/tourer or a track junkie, this glove offers superior crash protection for the money. Though my riding consists of everything in between, I wanted the additional protection these gloves offer over other gloves I have tried. And believe me, I have gone through three different vendors and models before settling on a glove that provides the best combination of form and function. What really sold me on this glove was the innovative SPS (Scaphoid Protection System) pads sewn in on the palms. The SPS pads allow the palms to slide on the pavement, dissipating most of the energy from the impact. The other plus is the Superfabric material sewn in high-abrasion prone areas. The pre-curved design and molded knuckle protection do make this glove a bit stiff at first, but with wear and tear, the leather will become compliant. You will also have to adjust for the tactile changes with the throttle grip from the SPS pads on the palms. I would recommend trying them on and sorting out those differences while stationary on your machine before going on a ride. Took me a couple of days to get comfortable with the changes. Overall, highly recommend these gloves if you want the additional crash protection without spending a boat load of money. If you are strictly out for comfort, don't buy these gloves. April 8, 2014
Great gloves for the price You get alot from these gloves without them breaking 100.00 in comparison to other gloves I've spent way more money on these give me a better feel and better protection. I wish they were either a little shorter or longer to accommodate my jacket more but they still offer a great feel, and give me a good feel over the bikes controls April 7, 2014
Very comfortable, great protection and amazing air flow. I have rode around 1000-1500 miles in these gloves so far in weather ranging between 35-70 degrees and I will say you can definitely stretch them between seasons. The ventilation on the gloves is amazing, they do get a tad cold when the weather is colder. The fit is good but it does run a little small with wide around the knuckle hands. The leather is stiff but it doesn't take long to break in which is what you are looking for and the grip is amazing for longer rides but still offers great traction if you are really running through the gears. Overall, fantastic gloves and I could not recommend them higher! April 2, 2014
Great pair of gloves When I was first ordering these I was a little skeptical. Not sure how big they would be or how the overall feel would be since they are my first gloves. They felt pretty much perfect out of the box. Lots of great features that not too many other gloves can compete with at this price. Only downside is my hand was exactly 8" and it's just a tad too big (but not enough for size change). A little smaller would've had the more custom fit after wear, but whatever it's good enough. Charles H: Bottom line, I wanted the most protection I could get in a short glove for the least amount of money. I found that in this glove and so far so good. I haven't logged a lot of miles with them but not even being broken in they are pretty comfortable and are great gloves. We will see about long term quality but for the money, so far I'm impressed. P C: Bang for my buck Oct 24, 2013
NZ1750455 Peter T: The features simply can't be beat for the price. In fact if these had a pinky bridge they would be the absolute 10/10 perfect street glove. Plus I have a Scorpion helmet and really like it. Oct 19, 2013
Andrew A: reviews were good, video reviewer personally recommended it as well. Oct 15, 2013
Lucas J: I chose these gloves because of the high number of features at a great price point and the excellent customer reviews. Oct 9, 2013
Michael H: Tired of wrestling those gauntlet gloves for around town. Features and pricing for my first 'short cuff' glove that doesn't look like a colorful alien claw. I am a little wary of the 'Super Fabric' sections that others have commented about scratching their paint. So we shall see..... Sep 28, 2013
Kazuya S: Good price and reasonable functionality. Sep 17, 2013
david l: The scorpion SGS glove looks like it offers a great deal of protection for the price. I like the idea of the sliders on the heals of the glove for better slide protection. Sep 16, 2013
Luke M: The combination of great materials and design caught my eye, the price for the protection sold me, and the video review was the icing on the cake. No overkill, but outstanding protection. Aug 28, 2013
MELVIN H: I chose this because it looked quite durable. The previous glove was made of leather and neoprene at the wrist area and I had to return it at two months because it separated where the stitching joined the leather and neoprene. Thus, I wanted a glove that was all leather at the wrist area to prevent that from happening again. Aug 27, 2013
Robert A: I saw the video review and felt that these gloves, were great for my riding needs Aug 25, 2013
M A: The Price combined with the safety features. You can thank the review for that. As I compared it to the other gloves they seem to cost more but have less. I was not necessarily price driven but it did not make sense to pay more for less. Also it comes in larger sizes. We will see how it holds up. Aug 16, 2013
David R: Reason I chose this product is because all of the reviews on the products are great Aug 16, 2013
Steve B: After extensive research I concluded that these gloves offer the best bang for my buck and my protection and style of riding. Also they look really sharp. Anthony seemed to rave a little more about the SGS's which was very convincing. Aug 9, 2013
A shopper asked: Is this glove waterproof? Sep 27, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Quan N: Since there are small perforations to allow the gloves to breathe, those same small perforations let in some moisture. My hands are a little wet after riding in the rain, but they're not soaked. So, no, they're not waterproof. Sep 28, 2013
Reply to Quan Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
dobromir h: I guess you could call it water resistant as it's made of leather, but it's definitely not waterproof.
There are perforations in-between the the fingers too. It's not a sealed winter/rain glove.

A shopper asked: Many of the reviews describe the SGS as a race glove; is this glove over-kill for commuting/touring? If the SGS is over the top for touring, what alternative is suggested that offers good crash and impact protection? Apr 8, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
JOSEPH L: The reviews for the SGS glove are correct. That being said, whether you are a commuter/tourer or a track junkie, this glove offers superior crash protection for the money. And believe me, I have gone through three different vendors and models before settling on a glove that provides the best combination of form and function. lester d: No this is not over kill this is a good protective glove from the carbon fiber pads and kangaroo palm I have had this glove for awhile and still wear them every time I ride.I ride a harley and off road riding too this glove is perfect for both...and a good investment for your hands.very well made solid glove.plus they are cool looking to.they will break in around your hand as you wear them.will seem tight at first but forms to your hands..order them one size larger than you normally wear. If you dont won't them snug on your hand.hope this helps definitely a great glove no matter your style of riding.rather you fall racing or just commuting or touring these gloves will protect your hand. W S: This is a fantastic all around glove. I use it for around town everyday use. It has great protection at a great price. I bought two pair. Be careful of one thing. I bought two pair. First pair had a broken stitch. Second glove set didn't. It was perfect. I've never been in an accident (knock on wood) but Anthony has and describes glove "explosions" during accident impact - presumably on cement. That's why he likes the single (unstitched) extra protective layer on the outside of the hand up through the pinky. It means more protection. Bottom line, order the glove, but do not tolerate bad stitching! Exchange the gloves. I hope this helps. Apr 12, 2014

Landon F: I use it for commuting and on a cruiser. It's comfortable and has a good deal of protection for the price. I figure I can have an incident around town just as easily so if you like the look go for it. I have the white/black so they're a little more noticeable. Get the full black if you're worried about overkill. I wanted protection in a quality glove and these fit that bill. Apr 8, 2014
Reply to Landon Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Brian T: I don't think they're overkill for commuting, it's what I purchased them for. Protection is protection, and these are some of the most reasonably priced gloves out there for the safety you get. The look is pretty low-key as well, so you get many of the better safety features without all of the racing glove bling. I'd buy them again if I had the choice. Apr 8, 2014

Richard B: it is a race style glove but I use it for commuting (40 min one way) during the non winter months. For touring you may want one that is more comfortable. I think the glove is very comfortable but I haven't worn it on any really long rides. Hope this helps. Apr 8, 2014
Reply to Richard Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Kevin K: I really like this glove. I commute 100 miles a day and wear it anytime it isn't too cold. I actually prefer it over a waterproof glove. Easy on and off. I bought it to wear on a SV650S but wear on my Roadstar as well. Apr 8, 2014

A shopper asked: Hey,

I have a question regarding sizing for the scorpion sgs. I measured my hand to be roughly 9.5 right below/around the knuckles. Should I go ahead and get the size large??

Thanks

W S: I bought this glove twice, which gives you an idea of how much I love this glove. Once in 2x and one pair in 3x. I owned the 3x first and thought it might be too big. (In contrast, I bought the A-Stars winter gortex glove 2x and it is TIGHT. In retrospect I wish I bought the 3x) I bought the 2x pair and found it snug. I wear the 3x all the time. Now, I will tell you I like larger fitting clothes so the glove fits that pattern. Leather is supposed to stretch, so eventually I'll use the 2x too. It's been 6 months and I'd buy this product again. This is a little bit of a ramble, but I hope this helps. Nov 13, 2013

dobromir h: Hi, my hand measures at 9" and I went with the XL. They fit well, maybe very slightly loose. I'd say the size chart is pretty accurate.
I think you should go with either XL or 2XL (maybe the XL as they will stretch a tiny bit)
Hope this helps.

Matthew S: I found their sizing chart to be right on. I measured right where pictured at 10", and the 2XL fits perfectly. If you're coming in at 9.5", I'd say at least an XL, if not 2XL. Nov 4, 2013
Reply to Matthew Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Kevin K: I measured myself as 9.5 and bought a Large. The thumb was slightly too short and it felt like the pads on the palms were slightly misplaced.. I'd go a size up. Nov 4, 2013

lester d: I would go to xlarge these gloves fit snug and very durable very nice gloves if you like them snug go with large. Nov 5, 2013

A shopper asked: Many reviews describe the SGS as a race glove; is this glove overkill for commuting or touring? If the SGS is over-the-top for touring, what alternatives are recommended that offer good crash and abrasion protection? Apr 8, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Brandon C: Actually being a non gauntlet glove, I would find this sub-par for race. I'm strictly a touring and all around rider, and I wear this glove daily, in most climates high 50s to over 100 degrees. Consideringg a second pair as a backup! Having had an accident years ago, I fully believe in the knox scapula palm protection. (My palm sure couldve used it back then) unlike other brands that used other shaped knox scapula sliders, these do not affect my grip either. I do not feel gloves stretch too much so unlike the racers, I don't recommend getting one size small. (I dont like tight gloves though) I usually wear a 2xl glove, and this worked fine. I have the gloves in black. Apr 8, 2014
Reply to Brandon Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Edmond Yee Ming L: I bought these gloves at the beginning of 13' season. Used only for short city riding. Easy on and off. Doesn't flow a lot of air. But I don't have any pressure points. Big +. Had all the protective elements I wanted in a short summer glove. Price wise this is a winner.
Calling it overkill would be silly in protective terms (more is always better imho) but valid in styling terms.
I don't think I answered your question... but Revzilla asked me to respond....so must obey....

Good luck in your search.

Apr 8, 2014
Sean H: I commute with them since I got them. I find no reason why people would say they're strictly a race glove or over the top. The protection and features they offer are applicable to any type of riding, they're not gauntlet style. The only thing I would change is that my icon gloves are touch screen compatible, while these are not which is pretty minor as far as complaints go. Haven't crash tested. The gloves but the quality seems good and the glove is reinforced and armored in the areas that in my mind would be most important. Apr 8, 2014

Dustin H: Don't get hung up on the title. Find a glove that has the safety features you're looking for and buy it. I bought the SGS because I prefer kangaroo leather palms and like the scaphoid sliders. They're my summer gloves - I ride a BWM R1200GS. Apr 8, 2014

A shopper asked: I'm buying gloves for my boyfriend, his hand measures 8.6" Do I round up the size?? Feb 10, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
W S: This question isn't necessarily about the glove. It's about the personal choice of how your boyfriend wears his clothes. Does he wear baggy jeans? Oversized shirts? What are the sizes of his other mc gloves? These gloves have a ton of value, so either way (they're exchangeable) you'll be fine. He'll love them! Good luck. Feb 11, 2014
Reply to W Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Brian J: I tend to prefer a tighter fitting glove, as they will break in and loosen up a bit after a few rides. Thus, I would not round up in size. If you prefer a looser fitting glove, then by all means round up. Good Luck!! Feb 11, 2014
Reply to Brian Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
dobromir h: My hands measure roughly the same and that's what I did. I went with the XL, and they fit really well. Hope this helps. Feb 10, 2014

A shopper asked: Hi guys,

Bought this glove a few weeks back and its a quality gloves. My question is regarding the treatment of the gloves, is it safe to use dubbing on the gloves or similar creams to the leather?
Mar 3, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Robert F: Good question! I tried to check the care guidelines once before. If you add dubbin or the like my concern is it may compromise the stitching that holds the protective parts the leather and make them weak. Not sure though. Mar 7, 2014
