Hammered this with the 1gal gas can on the K-Trail in OK. No issues. Did not have the mount last Feb for a Big Bend trip ( lost the can) another guy found it, used the gas and found me down the trail a bit and I got the can back :-). Did a trip in OK , on the 50 miles of rock gardens knowing the gas can was still there was not a issue. Blew a fuel line on the G650X but still had the can to replace what was blowing on the header pipe:-O....the mount rocks. UncleGrumper November 10, 2014
A must have This is a must have to know your tank is locked up when you are out of sight. Easy install and easy to remove tank when needed. June 17, 2014
secure mount The other reviewer points out ways the mount can be removed thus bypassing the security of the lock but good fences make good neighbors. The mount is very solid-feeling aluminum and works fine. It bolts directly to my AltRider luggage rack without the round baseplate for a nice installation. I was happy to find I didn't have to remove the rack to bolt it on. The mechanism rises a bit above the plane of the fuel pack which may create an issue when packing things on top but there aren't any sharp edges so I'm sure I'll be fine. Nice little effective secure mount. June 9, 2014
Used on the trails in Newfoundland! Locked the 1.75 Gal pak down and never let it go. Secure solid mount. June 4, 2014
Never ever put the... Never put the key in your pocket after opening the package. I just about went nuts looking for it, only to find it, in my pocket. Rotopax has out down themselves with this. The peace of mind knowing that it is locked and your gear won't be stolen by other ATV/UTV/moto people who know how expensive these are...is ALMOST there. Anyone savy with a philips screwdriver can easily just un-mount the bracket and run off with your stuff. Like the L shape bracket (philips head). I went to Home Depot and used different screws. Metric headed ones (hah, eat that thieves). Also sawed off the screwed and hammered the ends so the nuts won't be able to be loosened. Now if only the rotopax plastic container caps had locks. I won't need to worry about haters pouring something in the gas / water tanks when I am away from the bike. For example, my ex-brother in law who really has it in for me cause I helped my sister get away from his loser butt. May 27, 2014
Locks are great for peace of mind. This lock is almost essential to me since I often leave my bike in urban areas while on a trip. And, while no one will probably steal my gear, it's nice not to have to a negative thought linger in my mind. The system works great. All RotopaX products are held securely. Worst part is trying to get in touch with RotopaX Customer Service for information on their product: Never a call back or questioned answered even after 3 calls to their office. Completely UN-like Revzilla. Too bad. I had good questions. March 3, 2014
Great to have the extra gas Great to have and with the lock always know its there February 17, 2014
Rotopax System Utilized this system to expand my range on my BMW G450X for off road riding and limited fuel capacity of the bike , worked perfect in Appalachians November 4, 2013

John B: I intend to mount this to the top of a Pelican im2600 Storm case which is on the rear of my '13 Tiger 800XC. This how I'll mount a 1.75 gallon Rotopax water container. I also have a standard Rotopax mount on my Wolfman Expedition saddle bag mount which I use to carry a spare gallon of gas. I ought to be able to easily swap the locking portion over to the standard mount when that is all I am carrying. Versatility is a good thing. Apr 13, 2014

martin m: I ride a KTM990Adv and the fuel millage is quite low. I think a Rotopax is a good complement Oct 8, 2013
A shopper asked: When using the LOX pack mount, is T-handle level with the side of the Rotopax when in the locked position, or will it protrude above the surface of the Rotopax? Oct 13, 2013

Dennis H: If you get the 1 gal (small) Rotopax it will protrude above the pack by width of the handle (1 to 1-14 in). I can't speak for the larger capacity containers, but would suspect it might be flush with the largest. Not for the smaller ones. Oct 14, 2013
