Superb Womens' Summer Mesh Jacket
I am a new scooter rider and even though every other scooter rider in town rides with a t-shirt, shorts and an open-faced helmet, I decided I'd be as safe as possible. After a 5 minute search online for womens motorcycle jackets, it quickly grew clear that 95% of the stuff available looked tacky, overly feminized, or was simply less technical than the mens version. Not so with REV'IT, a Dutch brand whose designs stand above the rest. I chose the Tornado jacket because we are breaking records here in Texas with temperatures over 100 degrees. And this jacket looks phenomenal. It is not merely a smaller version of the mens', it is cinched on the sides for a feminine cut, and the accents (reflective back piping, red leather arm stripes, muted logo on velcro cuffs) are very tasteful.
When I first tried this one, even though it is mesh, I thought it would be significantly warmer than wearing just a t-shirt. There are several layers of fabric (so the airflow has a longer pathway to go) which makes for a more protective jacket. It is actually a lot better than having your arms bare, as the sun bounces off the white fabric and you don't get scorched. I would have preferred a bit more ventilation in the back through the back pad, but safety first.
All in all, I am very satisfied with this handsome jacket and hope to wear it for a very long time. The armor is sturdy and I only somewhat look like a Power Ranger. : )
I also own REV'IT summer gloves, and the combo looks great together. I highly recommend this jacket, and all other REV'IT gear.

Excellent versatile summer jacket
I hate the heat. I got sick of swampy, unbearably hot days keeping me from riding for part of the summer, so I got this jacket. I've worn it this whole summer, so here are my impressions.

Firstly, I'm 5'4" 120, with linebacker shoulders and beefy arms. I got this jacket in a size 38, more on size later.

It flows air like whoa, that much is obvious. The entire trunk portion of the jacket (back and front) is mesh. It won't keep you icy, mind, but it keeps you from steaming to death like I used to in my leathers. You can definitely feel your sweat evaporating if you start moving after being stopped for a while. I would've perished without this jacket during the summer.

Good construction, no loose threads like I've had before with cheaper gear, velcro has stayed sturdy over the course of the last 7000 miles. Zippers are great quality.

The liner is warm as heck, and really handy for those season transitions where it's cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon. The liner is the waterproof part, so don't be like me and leave stuff in the front pockets of the jacket when it's raining. Incidentally, the jacket dries super fast.

Armor is alright, personally I'd replace it with 1621.2 inserts if you're an atgatt fangirl like me. Doesn't come with a back protector.

My only big issue with this jacket (and seemingly every other rev'it textile jacket I've tried) is the room in the sleeves. I lift, I got biceps like whoa, forearms that could make a grown man fall to his knees - and yet the sleeves on this jacket are just too loose. It fits everywhere else but there, and I can easily twist the whole sleeve around or shove it up my arm to where the armor's not covering my elbow. I solved this by getting forcefield armor that goes on my arm, but this also blocks a decent amount of wind from reaching my arms. My torso/shoulders wouldn't fit into a 36, so here we are.

To summarize, it's a great jacket that does what it says on the box - the only drawbacks are that I'd expect better armor for the price point, and those sleeves are too loose! But other than that, it's decent especially if you can get it for cheaper on CL like I did.

Extreme Heat and crisp fall days
My first weekend out with my Tornado jacket and pants was to the White Mountains of NH on my MP3 400 Maxi Scooter. The weather conditions were HUMID and 98F for the 3 days of riding. This jacket provide ample ventilation and is very comfortable to wear as it is not very heavy in weight, but heavy in safety features!
The removable insulating/waterproof liner came in handy on my trip up Mount Washington as the temperatures at the peak were 50F with 40mph winds - the liner provided perfect comfort for the conditions.
The pants are equally comfortable. The water proof liner is VERY easy to put in.
This past weekend I took a day trip in GUSTY cool weather on the coast of Maine: 68F, 30mph gusts. The jacket provided warmth with the liner in, as well as great wind protection.

The Tornado Jacket is well worth the cash -

Flattering, versatile jacket
I've been wearing this jacket all year round on the East Coast. There's plenty of air circulation to get you as cool as possible in a jacket in the summer (without the liner). This past summer, because temperatures were ridiculously high, I wore the jacket with a thin moisture-wicking t-shirt and that helped.

With the liner and a light sweater, the jacket can be worn comfortably in 50 deg weather. In colder weather, I wear it with a fleece undershirt and a light sweater - that combo keeps me warm even at interstate speeds, but you may need a warmer jacket for temperatures in the 30s and below. I have not worn the jacket in the rain. I believe the liner is waterproof but I can't comment on that.

The jacket is very flattering. It's fitted both with and without the liner, and even with the liner, undershirt and sweater combo, I can fill my pockets. The armor doesn't appear too noticeably on the outside, but it is present in the elbows, shoulders, and there is a pad in the back (you can also swap out the armor for whatever you prefer). I have the jacket in the white/silver color and it looks really nice. And bug collisions haven't been a problem with the light color.

Great Mesh Jacket
I was looking for a new mesh jacket and was debating between the Tornado and the Levante. I choose the Tornado because not only was I looking for ventilation and protection but also wanted matching pants. Yes, I'm the type of person that wants everything to match. The fit it is very flattering to the female form. Make sure you take accurate measurements using the sizing chart.

I live close to the coast which stays cooler than inland. On a recent ride that took me from 62 degrees to 93, the jacket worked out great. Stayed warm then stayed cool. Just removed the liner and was ready to go. You really get 2 jackets. Most liners you would not wear alone but the liner looks good by it's self.

Versatile Women's Jacket
I originally ordered a size 36, but it was way too tight across the chest and shoulders. I exchanged for the 38 and it fits fine. I am 5'6" and 120 pounds.

Pros:
Versatile for spring to fall riding. The insulated liner is great. I rode in the upper 40's and was totally fine. There is no doubt the mesh will do great in the summer. Pockets are plentiful. Styling is nice. I love the red accents on the sleeves. I like the adjustability at the neck, it does a great job of keeping the air out #or in depending on the season#. Sleeves are long enough, and I have pretty long arms.

Cons:
There aren't many cons, but I don't like the Velcro at the sleeves. I would prefer a snap or something that seems less likely to wear out. I would also like to see some back armor included, as this came with noting. There is a zipper attachment for the matching pants, but would have also like to seen an attachment for jeans.

All in all this is probably the best jacket I have owned, and I would recommend it.

I have been impressed by the quality.
I bought the pants to match this jacket first and used them during the BMW MOA Rally in Bloomsburg, PA in July. It was over a 100 degrees (in the shade) and wicked humidity to boot. I put them through a lot during a full day RawHyde riders off road course, and a 3 hour intense off road ride through lots of dirt roads, muddy patches, deep water filled with mud and rocks, and down gorgeous Pennsylvania paved back roads. I was impressed with the comfort, durability, breath-ability, and fit. And I got a lot of, "Where did you get your pants?" The jacket was shipped to me after the Rally, and I have discovered it to be as wonderful as the pants. It is hard to find this type of riding gear for women. The fit is slim and thankfully long in the arms and inseam. I suggest trying them on for best fit. They are definitely made slim and long. I will look for other Revit gear in the future. :-)

This garment is so well made! The fit is as if it were custom made for me [the size chart indicates that I would be a 38 and that is what I bought]. The lining zips in and out very easily and there are plenty of pockets. The outer skin is a wonderful material that allows air in to cool, yet keeps it out when it is cold. The armor is so subtle, I don't even realize it is there. I bought it in the silver and it is very stylish with my white Honda Rebel. The price is high, but so is the quality,

This item has been a great purchase. It covers the bases for my style of touring. The water proof liner keeps me warm and dry down to temps in the 40's although not for extended lengths of time without proper under garments. Packs light and small taking the armor into consideration. Has been the most practical purchase for my needs. Can't say it's a flattering fit if you need to look sexy while you're on the road but has been a smart, practical purchase for me!

Anybody know how long the jacket is from the shoulder to the zipper? I'm tall with a long torso. I'm thinking I'll need a large. Wondering about sleeve length too based on comments. Generally I think I have T-rex arms for a tall woman, but from armpit to wrist is 21 inches.
Lisa S on Apr 25, 2016
I am looking at buying the womens Revit Tornado jacket. My measurements are chest 88 and waist 81. Those measurements on the size chart are a couple sizes apart so i don't know if thats gonna make too much of a difference in the fit.
A shopper on Apr 19, 2011
BEST ANSWER: First make sure that you are measuring at your true waist and not lower where your jeans usually sit. If that is accurate, then you should be fine splitting the difference with a size 40.
I'm considering this jacket or another RevIt jacket for summer riding. I am tall 5'9" and have long arms. The size chart does not indicate the sleeve lengths for the sizes. Based on the other measurements, I need a Large. What are the sleeve measurements for the Large and XL?
A shopper on May 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: RevZilla CS staff should have taken this question. I'll let them know this.
However, I own both the Tornado and Airwave by Rev'it. I found the sleeves to be short on the Tornado. I bought a 34, (XS), and I'm 5'5" and on the slender side. But I noticed Sarah Lezito, a popular French stunt rider has the same problem-- sleeves end well short of wrists while riding. I've contacted both RevZilla and Rev'it about this. So, you should definitely get sleeve length before purchasing. Otherwise I really like Tornado for the removable weather layer.
I hope this helps. RevZilla CS staff has always gone over and above helping me with product questions.
The video says this jacket works best in Fall, Winter, and Spring (but not dead of summer, although several reviews say up to 90 degrees is manageable). How cold (without wearing a heated liner or vest underneath) would this work for? Would this work down to 30 degrees Fahrenheit?
elle on Aug 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I bought this as a summer mesh jacket and with the liner to be used in cooler weather. I think its a great summer jacket with the liner out and early Spring to Fall with liner in. This is my second year with this.
Though a Mainer, I stop riding once road salt goes down. I have ridden in the 20's, but only about 20 miles. I get cold and the rubber on your tires does not perform well at those temps. If you ride in freezing temps I would suggest you layer underneath, just as you would going out skiing (in Maine). I'm quite thin, so I get cold more easily than someone more substantial.
Hope this helps.
